Rob, I'm surprised to find you added him. I guessed I'd missed when you did it. Even more I'm surprised to find that you have a quote of him stating his height, and that unlike most guys are successful and famous as himself, he wouldn't try to give himself two more inches. He's easily one of those guys that could get away with calling himself 5'11" because of his fame.

It's funny, because as I'd told you on the height request page, he'd been listed as high as 5'11", though, most often at 5'9", which even I was beginning to doubt.

Shaun, most likely they are on uneven ground considering it is sand. It's clear that he's not anything more than what he's listed.
My guess is that he's actually 5'8".

Rob, I found a photo of SLater and Cameron Diaz barefoot in the surf. See celebritygossip.cc. However, we can't see their feet underneath the surf but Slater looks several inches taller than Diaz.... If they stood up straight he still looks as if he'd be two inches taller than Diaz... Interesting....

Mmm, to be honest I always thought he looked in the 5'8" range. He can often look quite short next to some of the bigger surfers. 5'8.5" I would fully agree with... He was also about 2 inches taller than Pamela Anderson barefoot on the beach who is 5'6".

I have met Slater at surf shop autograph signings twice, he's 5'9".
