@ Mma - You are not too short, no one is too short or too tall in my opinion.

@ Mma - I thought it might be worth adding that one of my heroes is the 5ft4" 'Blackadder' actor Tony Robinson. I have many of his fascinating historical DVDs, which have taught me a great deal - in the most amusing way possible. He says about his height that he's fairly philosophical about it, the only other option being unhappy and bitter, so why bother? πŸ‘πŸ˜„

I find myself drawn to interesting men and when they're funny as well, you have the complete package! I'm not the only one who finds him attractive. He's married to a lady less than half his age. 😯

Cheers and take care, Mma! πŸ˜‰πŸ‘

@ Mma - I'm assuming you're a fella, because 5ft5.5 would be quite tall for a girl. Well, Mma, I'd just like to tell you that you're roughly the same height as I am for a female. I've spent far too much of my life being hacked off about my height and the final straw came when I was attacked on a train and my memory was wiped. I blamed my height, which back then will have been nearer the 5ft2 mark, but I've never measured myself at night. Now I'm 5ft1 in the morning.

Life is too short to brood on one's height. I've known many, many people during my lifetime, and the ones who stand out and afford me the best memories are the funniest ones. The late 'Little Arthur' was only 5ft4, and every time he opened his mouth, he'd have us all in stitches. Having spent years in the Navy, he was well travelled and he had nothing to prove.

I remember a trip to hospital with Arthur to visit my late boyfriend. We were laughing non-stop, there and back and during the visit. Laughter is such a positive, feel-good emotion, and I never heard this fellow moan about his height, other to join in with the others, but he gave as good as he got - better even! Of that group of friends, there was a guy of 6ft4, who said my trainers 'looked like something out of toytown', but when I spent time alone with him, which included a visit to his house to meet his (very personable) Mum, his humour was non-existent. There were other tall guys, brothers of 6ft1 and 6ft3, and they thought that by fighting it made them harder. The younger brother, the 6ft3 one, had a lovely sensitive side to him though and he always saw fair play. I saw him wiping tears away during the film 'The Elephant Man', and he cleaned the flat from top to bottom when I came out of hospital. The previous time, just two months earlier, the place was a tip, with my records all over the floor, many of which were ruined.

The moral of this tale is that the things that stay with us are people's good humour, their spontaneity, and their willingness to help out. How far they stand from the ground doesn't come into the equation. By thinking this way, I'm disagreeing with how my own mother thought. I trust my own experiences and opinions and not those of others, even if they clash with my own Mum's.

I often read that men are more harshly judged for being shorter, and find this is most unjust and unkind. Women get their fair amount of negative judgement too if they're below average, but for me, that rubbish goes in one ear and out of the other, but it hasn't always done. Believe me when I say that it's what you do in your life and how you treat people that stays with them and makes for the nicest memories.

One of my favourite programmes at the moment is Patricia Arquette's 'Medium'. At 5ft1.5/2, this actress is hardly tall, but she is so caring and her empathy exudes from every single pore that I simply love her. Another actress with the same traits who I adore is Liv Tyler. I had no idea she was as tall as the 5ft9.5/10 she is when I started buying her movies, and when I found out, it didn't make an iota of difference. As for male actors, I like ones of all sizes. It's their performances that matter!

I hope this helps you in some way. I'll be back in touch as and when other bits and bobs pop into my head, offering proof that smaller guys are every bit as attractive, just as good company and as mentally stimulating as their taller brethren.

Sending you all the best, Mma,

@Miss Sandy Cowell

I feel really bad about my height as such a young age I am 24 and I feel less attractive I'm a handsome and good looking guy but my height is an obstacle cannot embrace it

@Mma, no you’re not too short but it also depends which country you are from since every country has different average heights. I’m from Singapore where the average female is 5ft 3. I’m 5ft 5.5 so I’m considered tall for Singaporean. By the way, are you male or female?

@Sharanya am I considered too short or just short? Thank you for your comment

@ Sharanya - How sweet of you to advise omavov.

Sharanya said on 2/Dec/20
@omavov, you will probably be 5ft 5.5 since you’re that height most of the day. Still 1/2 inch shy of 5ft 6.

Nevertheless, 5ft 5 for Sophie Thatcher.

She is the same height as Margaret Thatcher was at her peak.

Sophie doesn't look as tall as 5ft6 so 5ft5 it'll be. πŸ˜πŸ’
