"why do people who are 5'4" call themselves short? that's average height."... my guess is because they feel short, perhaps in relation to men... small women.. let's say under 5'6" are much more likely to wear high heels when they go out, I've noticed.... and that says something about how they think about themselves

I beg to differ, ok well I don't know about Koreans or how much the height of a woman is important in Asia... but Chinese Women definitely appreciate tall men, they just aren't tall to our standards.. lol... many Chinese girls dream of marrying a man who is 1.80m tall... which is barely above average height of a white male, but for China it is tall :) .
