Nope, Vince is definately 6'4". I'm 5'1" and after meeting him in person (I was wearing sneakers, he had his standard dress shoes) absolutely a very imposing and a little intimadating, if he were'nt such a sweetheart of a guy.
He had mentioned in an interview that he once worked as a bouncer at a nightclub between acting gigs, so I imagine from that others think he's tall and powerful looking guy. Sexy as Hell too!!!!

The taller you are, the more chance you have to shrink, especially physiques as Clint Eastwood's. I am 55 and have not lost if only a mm from my peak: 5'8.There is "loosing an ich or so because of getting on in age and loosing up to 4 inches because of back or himp or both serious problems: Clint, Lou Gosset Jr and so, H. When I reached my full height as a teenager, I was 5'7 and a half inches tall. Back in the mid-1960's that was considered tall for a girl. But now, I've shrunk down to 5'6 inches tall as the result of aging and calcium loss. I am older than he is and keep my regular weight without doing superhuman efforts!
He could do the same but his “elastic ups and downs” in that domain due to his parts, certainly did not help!

Sheridan is at least 6'1 and i'd say 6'1/5 without taking any risk!
Vincent is more or less tall depending how he stands, whether he embodies a powerful man or a marginal or older character as in "the breaking up"; He's slouching all the time in full metal jacket as do "big" men but look many other films where he is a young man, slender and vigorous: not the same man!
This guy is a "composition actor"; he knows and love transform himself according to what is demanded by the role.
Even in LAW & ORDER, he is not always the same whether he is in good mental shape or not, rest or tired; he is "human" in a word!great actor because great guy!

Alex, I saw the same thing in the Break Up. Assuming Vaughn is 6'5", I'd say D'Onofrio is 6'3.5" - 6'3.75". I highly doubt 6'4"

AAAA, that is right that in Full Metal Jacket, my so dear Stanley (my favorite director, a genius!) chose giants!
I NEVER saw M.Modine smaller than D'Onofrio and A.Baldwin: I know that movie by heart since I am a little bit crazy about Kubrick's work (and crazy anyway!). By the way, Adam Balwin looks really taller and bigger, than the very tall Danny Glover in Predator 2: that is really impressive!
Actually, I wonder why they put Modine at 6'2.5 or even 6'3 because he is taller than D'Onofrio in full metal jacket. Admittedly, that one is overweighting and has to slouch a bit but it still remains that Vincent is NOT taller than M.Modine.

I made a mistake when talking about "the only one episode he was with Chris Noth"; the very first Noth came back to L & O, he looked as tall as V D'Onofrio. They were very often together and next to each other in it. No doubt Noth is AMX one inch, perhaps, smaller but I couldn't say when it is visible!
Vincent is huge and very tall and not less than 6'3 anyway.
I don't buy 6'5; he doesn't look that tall and was meaningfuly smaller than Tom Noonan and Vince Vaughn.

I always think that it's cute when on L&O they try to make 5'2 Eames at least somewhat comparative to Goren :) There is NO WAY that a 5'2 woman would stand only a 1/2 head smaller than a 6'4 inch man! :) Glenn here is also proving my point, being 5'8 and being almost a 1/2 head smaller :) I know they have to do it for t.v but I just think it's cute :) I have never seen him in person and would love to get the chance, I wish I had Glenn's job :) Though if I did ever meet him I might be too afraid, being under 5'3 myself :)

This guy has an enormous "presence" on screen, whatever screen it is; He is BOTH visibly much more than smart and clever and, very very imposing, physically speaking. Today, very rare that kind of "mixture"; that gives to him a charism and a kind of sensuality enhanced with his way of moving and acting. My wife as so many others are very sensitive about that;
I am absolutely sure he is EXTREMELY strng, i mean, stonger than he seems to be and already, he does! He is not less than 6'3 and presumably more by a half inch. How tall is his ex-captain? Too bad he has left the show!

Anyone you watches Law and Order CI will notice that vincent's height is all over the place; he slouches loads to try and make himself look shorter (like 6') however when he stands up straight you can see he is clearly a huge guy 6'4'. i guess he is using a law and order pose in that pic with glenn.
The guy has a huge frame, he gained 70 pounds just for full metal jacket. he has also held he own in loads of films with big guys.

Yeah, he's just not standing straight next to Glenn. That's all. 6'4" is correct. Watch Altman's "The Player". There's a wonderful scene where Vincent and Tim Robbins stand face to face. Vince is wearing cowboy boots and is maybe a hair taller than Robbins. So he's at least 6'4".

He looks huge on Law & Order: CI, but if Glen is 5'8" then that is 8 inches under 6'4", the difference in the photo doesn't look like that much. Although he does seem to be slouching a bit.

Look at FEELING MINNESOTA. Is he really 3" taller than Keanu? I'm 3" taller than my Dad and I tower over him. In pictures, you can see a BIG difference in our heights.

To me, he looked more like 1-2" taller than 6'1" Keanu. So I would say he's 6'2" to 6'3".
