He is 6'2.5 to 6'3, Goldblum has big inch on him. People think he's taller than he is because of his thick frame. I've seen Goldblum leaning next to D'Onofrio when he is standing straight up and Goldblum was still taller by a half inch. 191cm is Royalty says on 12/Dec/09

He's a tall guy. Can't see why anyone wouldn't think 6"3" at least. I must admit he didn't look 3 inches taller than Chris Noth on criminal intent. He reports 6'3 1/2" Kathryn Erbe is 5'2" and always wears heels at least 3" and more often 4". That would have her standing 5'5" - 5'6" which looks about right. (if Vincent is say 6'4" - 6'4 1/2" in shoes ) There's at least 10 inches between them usually. No he still looks 6'3/5. In a 2007 CI episode, he is visibly a bit taller than Peter Coyote, a solid 6'3 actor, and about 1/5 inch shorter than 6'5 Pablo Schreiber.
He always towers over anybody else in the show and is really imposing. This man is not only a very fine actor - one of the best ever - but also a refined, cultured man and a damn strong guy! He obviously is very "physical" and has natural abilities. An underrated actor if any. Hugh says on 8/Jan/09

I know what it is to suffer from exhuastion.I gained 50 lbs. He's my favorite TV actor. This new season must be very hard on him, but the acting surely hasn't suffered. He's been super great. Vincent's a guy who looks much bigger in life than you'd expect. As for he's "most famous for his role as Private Pyle in Full Metal Jacket"? I beg to differ, Vincent singlehandedly made Law and Order CI the most popular of the series and one of the most watched shows in syndication. The taller you are, the more chance you have to shrink, especially physiques as Clint Eastwood's. Vincent is more or less tall depending how he stands, whether he embodies a powerful man or a marginal or older character as in "the breaking up"; He's slouching all the time in full metal jacket as do "big" men but look many other films where he is a young man, slender and vigorous: not the same man!
This guy is a "composition actor"; he knows and love transform himself according to what is demanded by the role.

I made a mistake when talking about "the only one episode he was with Chris Noth"; the very first Noth came back to L & O, he looked as tall as V D'Onofrio. They were very often together and next to each other in it. No doubt Noth is AMX one inch, perhaps, smaller but I couldn't say when it is visible!
Vincent is huge and very tall and not less than 6'3 anyway.

This guy has an enormous "presence" on screen, whatever screen it is; He is BOTH visibly much more than smart and clever and, very very imposing, physically speaking. Today, very rare that kind of "mixture"; that gives to him a charism and a kind of sensuality enhanced with his way of moving and acting. My wife as so many others are very sensitive about that;
