I mean, Pierre has a bit of a point but what gives this stadiometer validity is that it measured everyone a half inch lower than their claim.

All these years I wondered how he could be over 6'1" and when now even about ~ 180 cm (Dark fate, 2019).
Physically he NEVER been that tall as 6'1.5 "or 6'2", but I can see 184 or 185 cm as true.

I wouldn't call 6ft2 peak a joke for Arnold...it's a round up sure but he was certainly more eligible to claim it than many of the jokesters on here. He could've got it within an hour of rising.

@Pierre Arnold was looking no more than 6ft compered to that guy in Commondo,in fact when the movie was released, not long after I saw it on video and at the time in my ignorance believing Arnold to be 6ft2 I presumed the big black guy in the hat was 6ft6.

i think he can be dipping down to 179 these days. he often look the same heigh as 5´10 guys. peak from looking at terminator movies and true lies i would have thought 6´2 guy but in reality i think he was not a mm ovetr 6´1 i mean go from 185 to 179 is 6 cm and the guy is aliitle over 70. but going from 187 to 179 at that age is just extreme. that meast that arnold would be down to maybe 175 when he is 80 and 172 at 85 and if he makes it to 90 he will be a 169 guy. does that makes any sense? can a guy shrink that mutch or have arnold lost the most of his height now i younger age and will stay at 5´10 for many many years.

We have a good pic in a more or less recent comment ,with Arnold and Lou standing barefoot in exactly same posture and same distance to the camera.Arnold's eyes clearly is max as high as Lou's mouth.The pic was made around 1975 (so Arnold around 27 ).At around the same period (start of the 80s)we have Lou next to John Larroquette,Dick Durock,also next to his stunt double.Each time this pics are showing Lou around 6"3',no more.a bit later (1994) same thing next to Adrian Paul.1997 Lou again looking a bit dwarfed by Ralf Moeller.
Then Arnold as tall as 6"1' prime would means all this guys next to Lou have false lists.The probability seems to me very slim.
I could believe Arnold had a very late growth ,even in his 30s,that is my case.But pics/videos of him in the 80s are showing again the same thing = around 6"0'(next to Vernon Wells,Charles Meshack,Yuri Vlasov...)

@184guy= Evander was clearly not straight in this famous pic his head a lot in front of his shoulders and Arnold had the advantage of hairs.There was a pic in web that I don't find now inwhich we can see both guys Arnold/Evander(and their respective shoes looking similar).Arnold was looking noticiably shorter than Evander.
When you compare the pic Arnold/Robert Davi with the pic Robert Davi/Timothy Dalton Timothy looks like he dwarfs Robert that is not the case of Arnold.

When you compare the pic Arnold/Robert Davi with the pic Robert Davi/Timothy Dalton Timothy looks like he dwarfs Robert that is not the case of Arnold.

I would say he was 6'1½ (possibly 6'1¼) at his peak, but his bulky build could make you think he's shorter. He's noticeably taller than 5'7 Jamie Lee Curtis in True Lies and she wears heels which look about 3 inches in that film while he's in typical 1 inch dress shoes. I think he's still at least 5'11, but man he has shrunk a lot.

From another point of view if this stadiometer was generally deduct 0.5 inch from usual heights then imo you have to bet this stadiometer had a problem.Then you could imagine the opposite was possible with an adjustment problem or something like this and so possible sometimes it adds height .By this comparisons of pics with good parameters(both barefeet,same distance to the camera /postures etc etc)Arnold around 6"1.5' give to Lou no less than 6"4.5' and for an example Adrian Paul no less than 6"1'/6"1.5'....

1.81/1.82 is a little exaggeration for a peak Arnold. He was 1.83 but with his shoes, confidence and posture fooled most of the guys around. Another reason is people usually add 1-2 inches to their height. People have a different reality of how really tall is a 1.83 man

@rob , in your opinion what's the best way to measure height metric or imperial , in my country we use metric but i think imperial is better because for example 1cm of difference is less remarkable than a 1 inch difference

Personally I will always keep imperial/metric on this site for as long as I run it.
it's funny both Andy Murray/Nadal both claimed the 187.5cm mark...I've never heard anybody in person who used metric using a .5 or anything...always seemed rounded to nearest cm.

Didn't Arnold even say he was shorter than James Earl Jones who is also listed here at 6'1.5" peak? I also think Robert Davi was about that height as Julian McMahon used to edge him on the show Profiler and anyone who has seen Raw Deal knows Arnold looked a bit shorter. Didn't Arnold even say he was shorter than James Earl Jones who is also listed here at 6'1.5" peak? I also think Robert Davi was about that height as Julian McMahon used to edge him on the show Profiler and anyone who has seen Raw Deal knows Arnold looked a bit shorter. Arnold has had quite a few surgeries so I have no trouble believing he's lost more than average. Even by 2007, he had already had a hip replacement in 2002 and surgery to repair a broken femur bone from a skiing accident in 2006 among others. The following year in 2008, he had knee surgery.
I'd buy 186 cm evening at his peak seeing him edge out Carl Weathers in Predator and Tom Arnold in True Lies, clearly taller than Roger Moore in the late 80s and about the same height as Evander Holyfield in the 90s. 187 does seem to be pushing it, though seeing him with Robert Davi in Raw Deal since Davi likely wasn't above 187 himself. I read his book the education of a bodybuilder there are a lot of pictures of Arnold when he was young and he looked 6-1.5 in most of them. In a picture with 5-9.5 Gerd Mueller, former soccer player, he looked as tall as 6-2

@Pierre: Nah, he might occasionally look 6'0.5" once in a while, but there's more than enough evidence to put him at least around 6'1.25" in the 80s and at least 6'1" up until at least the late 90s. And Corden looks a solid enough 5'8". It's tough to see him more than 1/4" from Rob's listing in either direction.

I always thought arnie was about 6' 2" to 6' 3" about 30 years ago. I was age only 17 then and hes muscular frame did blind me into thincking arnie was 6' 2" to 6' 3" at most. Becouse i was 6ft at age 17 and i couldnt believe this man was just an inch taller than me. I just couldnt see it. But friends told me camera angles make him look 6' 5" and bigger!!!!
