Sarah Douglas is listed 5"9.5' ,if my memory is good she has gain height when she had a hip surgery and was more 5"9' range in his prime(in her page here Click Here there is a mention about that under one of her pic next to Rob) .And next to Arnold she's standing barefoot as you can see here = Click Here or here when she's tiptoeing = Click Here .In this last pic Arnold is not at his max height but imo you have to consider she's tilting her head too(and tiptoeing of course).Arnold's boots have only a classic heel here but maybe generous internal soles because I find this boots very big

Reasons to doubt Arnold's peak claim of 6'2" or even his current height of 5'11". YouTube Arnold and Devon Larratt, who absolutely towers over Arnold (more than 3 inches for sure, probably closer to 6). Devon is listed at 6'5", which is generous considering he's visibly shorter than Charles Barkley in an NBA segment on YouTube, and who has admitted to only being 6'4" despite being listed at 6'6", making Devon maybe 6'3", at best. The final nail in the coffin is Arnie next to James Corden (only 5'6"-7") and not being hugely taller than him (maybe 2", 3" at best), putting Arnold under 5'10".

In the picture Rob used, Arnold literally looks like he's 5'9" lol... I know I'm not the only one who thinks so. Of course he's not though. Also, he looks like a long torso and short leg guy, like me! In videos I see of him today, he lookd 5'10" or 5'10.5". He could've been 6'1" flat peak and now he's 5'10.5". Definitely around there anyway.

I taught the black guy with the hat was 6ft6, because back in the day I belived Arnold was 6 ft2 as he was commonly listed at the time.But now I no differently and Arnold looked nowhere near 6ft2 in comparison to that guy who we now no was actually 6ft4,the max I would give Arnold in comparison is 6 ft05.

Have you watched that recent terminator movie??Arnold was never seen taller than that tall terminator girl who is listed as 5'10.25...It seems hollywood is no more interested in showing Arnie as a huge 6 footer.Another movie where he was shown in his real height was Commando where he was seen as almost a 5'10 - 5'11 guy..But in the movie Predator which came 2 years after, he was shown as huge 6 footer who almost stood equal to the big 6'4 listed Jesse Ventura and Bill Duke.Recently watched 1990 released Total Recall in which also he was shown a big 6 foot guy.So it's all about this camera techniques..My guess is he was 6'0.5 in his peak and around 5'10 these days..

Jeff bridges was around 6'2" in shoes in Stay Hungry or at least 6'1.75". Arnold only looks 1/2 inch shorter barefoot. Not a full inch anyway so the absolute lowest I could see for 70's Arnold is 6'1".

By the 90's he looked 6'0.5" in alot of movies and next to actors and down to 6'0 around 2006.

Sorbo is correct I was on a very small plane with him from teterboro to cape cod with my uncle who was elderly and the same height as Sorbo and he towered over Arnold. We both related this to my Arnold obsessed cousin over supper and he went into a near rage about it that we must have been mistaken etc. This was in the mid 80s i.e. 84 MAX early 85 as my uncle died in April of 1985 from a sudden heart attack.

I don't believe his daughter measured him 6'0.5" barefoot. Just because he said that I can't just because he didn't looks 6'0.5 barefoot like 6 years ago when he said this.. Probably she measured him 6'0.5 with shoes and was back in that date 5'11.5 barefoot ( like 6-7 years ago).
I'm starting to believe he could be 6'1 in his peak searching what happened to him but I can't see him a mm taller in his prime than 6'1 or 185 cm.

Does Arnold still claim 6'2" today? At 5'10" range that's just absolutely ridiculous if that's the case.

The last time Arnold spoke about his height, which was several years ago now, he said that he was shocked that he was down to 6'0.5" when his daughter measured him. Even back then we knew that he wasn't even that tall anymore. Since then he has never mentioned his height publicly again. Imo, he was 6'1.5" (possibly 6'1 3/4" in the morning at his peak) and today is barely over a flat 5'10" (at best). Between his upper spine completely collapsing on itself and his hip replacement, resulting in shorter femur bones, he has lost over 3".

@viper I am friends with a lot of bodybuilders who I have known since my childhood. I am one year older than you, (I'm 40) and most of my friends are the same age as me. All of them haven't lost any height but I do know a few people who I met as an adult who have actually lost a small fraction since their peak. It's very minimal though, like .5" max.

Arnie has a really weird case. I would say he was 6'1" range peak and for sure 5'10" now. I don't know how he lost so much.

Arnold looks between 3 to 4 cm (1,25 to 1,5 inch) taller than Robert Patrick. Who is saying he was 2 inches taller than Robert Patrik? Knowing Robert Patrick was 181 cm (5'11.25) do the maths. One thing is to measure correctly 6'1.5 without cheating and other one is doing a correct measurement nd not cheating not Busting a Gut. The 6'1.5=6'0.5. Arnold probably lift slightle his heels and nobody could see that. A correct and legit measurement on the stadiometer is different Arnold would hit 6'0.5 max

The fact is = Guys here who claim Arnold 6"1.5' have for only argument a message with a measure with a stadiometer....Stadiometer that no one has seen here and so no one has never try it...The argument of the guy who has measured Arnold is if my memory is good = other bodybuilders who have try this stadiometer have found a measure a bit under their official height....But just for an example = Sergio Oliva was listed 5"10'/5"11' .A guy who met him in the past gauged him 5"7' 5"8' max.....then if this stadiometer gave to a guy like Sergio(or to another bodybuilder ,it's just an example) the measure 5"9.5',this means this measure was a bit under his official height but always a lot above the reality....

For whatever reason, from too much bodybuilding Arnold has lost a lot of height.

Dolph lundgren is only in his early 60s and has already lost nearly 2 inches.

He has 2 college friends with him in a picture from the 70s and they look the same height today as they did then.

My 81 year old Uncle is still 5-8. He has great posture all the time so I know he hasnt lost anything. He's also been the same weight since his 20s

My 69 year old mom has ostoeporosis and is still 5-3.

That's quite amazing, Viper, though I do think it's far more commonplace for a man to be that fortunate than it is a woman because women are far more likely to be affected by osteoporosis.

When a guy gets it, however, the results can be quite staggering. I saw a programme a couple of decades or so ago describing the plights of a few men who suffered from the illness. Two of them had shrunk from their peak 5ft10 inches to a mere 5ft apiece. It was really rather sad. They feared falling over because their bones were so brittle that they'd need hospitalisation to reset the bones after such an accident.

Of course, heredity plays a part but it's never too late to soup up your diet to do all you can to avoid any danger of the illness in the future.

I have seen people bringing up Joey's pic alot but you can see clearly that he is much closer to the camera, look at the size of his head in comparison to Arnold and his gf. Arnold is somewhere between 5'10.5-5'11" today but even back in 2010 he looked 6'0 next to 5'10" Chris Eubank who Rob has met.

He was in his 60's then and had lost height by then. Back in the 90's I thought maybe 6'1" and also maybe that peak BUT we have a well known bodybuilder claiming that he measured Arnold 6'1.5" on a Stadiometer in the 70's. He didn't even like Arnold so why would he boost him?

Today I met Arnold at Gold's Gym. And after years of thinking Arnold was 6'2 or 6'1, or a weak six foot, I can confirm he is maybe at best 5'11 or a strong 5'10.

All bodybuilders Heights are billed. It's easier to sell a tall athlete than a short one, so frank Zane is the exact height as Richard Baldwin a 5ft 8 inch bodybuilder using that Arnold never appeared to be beyond 4 inches taller than Zane. And Arnold is Reg parks height who was Billed at 6ft 1inch (remember they have billed height all athletes do even in the NBA and Football). Arnold was 6 ft tall with overly exaggerated stats, because he was the poster boy of bodybuilding so he kept the lie up. He is just a few inches taller than Silvester Stallone who is about 5ft 9 at best now. He was 6ft at peak height maybe a half inch over or so

Struggles with 5'11" today, I can see why some say 5'10.5" just not sure if thats his age/posture at times.

Could be still 5'10.75", for sure not a strong 5'11" guy as of 2019.

Now that Callum van Moger has been added and most think 6'1.5"-6'2" it gives more insight into Arnie. Arnold was for sure 2.5-3" shorter than Callum last year and this year. So at least 5'10.5" still as a minimum.

I believe he laid down before the measurement at night. Proves he was 6-1 minimum unless it was a mismeasurement.

A young Lou Ferrigno looks clearly shorter than John Larroquette 6"4' or just a bit taller than his stunt double in "Hulk", Manny Perry,listed 6"2'.Then let's say young Lou 6"3' or strong 6"3'.Young Arnold looks a good 3 inches shorter than Lou....Arnold's peak max 6"0' now around 5"10',that is even a big loss for a 70' guy in good shape .

@actionboy … not trying to argue or act stupid or make people out as fools - But some do try to downgrade and upgrade, at least from what I have read over the years in regards to celebrities, not just Arnold - I was referring mostly to the fake news media, the type of celebrity nonsense you got in magazines back in the day. In the 80s and 90s I read some articles claiming his height as low as 5'9 (by those who did not like him) and sometimes as high as 6'4 (by those who liked him), both of which are unlikely. I stand by my comment and tend to agree with you he is/was his said peak height (lets just say around 6'1) or at least very close to it, and possibly a shade under 5'11 now. That is all.

To be honest I met him briefly and I did not play any attention to his footwear, so I can't say who had the footwear advantage. I can also say that I am about 181.cm in the morning and 179.5cm at night(give or take a few mm) and on the picture he seems to be slightly shorter.
I think that at this point Arnold is 180.5cm in the morning and 178.5 at night. And at his peak he was probably around 184-185cm.

Amazed how the media and people always try to downgrade this guy. I'm not an Arnold fanboy, but honestly, just watch any of his older movies or look at the barefoot bodybuilding pictures. Clearly 6'1 1/2 easily. Yes he is around 5'11 now but we all lose an inch or two as we age. The "he is only or ever was 5'9 - 5'10" comments are ridiculous.

I was watching a video of a movie opening where both Arnie and Sly were standing side by side back in the '90's. There were the same height (who knows if either were wearing lifts). Sly is listed as 5'10". About 10 years ago, when I drove a truck, I was in a the Kenworth dealership in Evansville In. having the door lock repaired on my truck and in the drivers waiting area there was a photo of Sly standing in front of a Kenworth W 900 along with the driver who was a driving the moving truck for Sly's furniture. I noticed that Mr. Stallone's head was even with a spot on the radiator of the truck. I walked outside the dealership and stood in front of a W 900 truck and the same spot on the radiator was even with my eyes. I'm 6'2", therefore the Austrian Oak CANNOT be any where near 6' anything. No disrespect, just sayin'.

George H. W. Bush was still 6'2 range in his 60s. So I think the pictures of them that's consistent with Schwarzenegger being in the 6'1-6'1½ range. Another thing is that whenever subjects of a photograph are standing on grass, it's much harder to compare their heights. Therefore, you can't really deem those pictures legitimate sources for our purposes.
