David Robinson's not 7'+. More like 6'11" and change. My 6'2.25" friend (who's good at guessing height and is strict against inflating height) met him and said he looked 9" taller, and also said they wore similar thickness in footwear.

He was definitely no taller than 6'8 or he would not have been able to serve in the U.S. Army.
____________________________________________________

You are correct about the 6'8" maximum Height for the Army. However people are usually 17 or 18 when they first join and are measured. The will not kick a person out for growing after enlisted. There was a guy in the motor pool when I was in that was 6'9". I think it was NBA player David Robinson that enlisted in the Navy at a height of 6'7" and ended up being over 7'. All of that being said. Studd was never 6'8". Probably a solid 6'6" guy give or take a fraction. Always hard to tell because he wore some pretty big lifts.

I know that there's a minimum height requirement for joining the US military, but I didn't know that there's a maximum. I know there's a maximum when it comes to flying fighter jets though.

It's tough to get a good height comparison between him and Hogan. I don't remember them ever going face to face like Hogan did with Sid, and Andre. Hogan also didn't stand up that often against Studd. He would usually have his knees bent slightly. I think he did that to make Studd look taller. When Hogan stood up straight there wasn't much height difference between them Click Here. He was shorter than Rick Barry, and didn't have two inches on Bill Fralic. I wouldn't put him above 6'6"

I met Big John live and in person at WrestleMania 6 Toronto a few years before he died (younger than I am now but all the mileage showed). Got to chat with him. A true gentleman and gentle giant. Such a nice guy and had no problem chatting with a 16-year-old kid about King Kong Bundy and the old days.

He didn't impress me with his height at all but with his mass/girth. Hands like baseball mitts. 6'5'' max at that time, in my opinion.

It’s Don Johnson who came up to John’s bottom lip/mouth area. Mickey Rourke came up to his mustache/ bottom of his nose area. All three men had on equal footwear...cowboy boots worn by all three men. Big John Studd’s Head was huge! The bottom of his nose/mustache would be about 7” to 7.25”...was Rourke 5’11” or 6’0” back then ?? 1988-1989?? Some say 6’0” ...others say 5’11” & change? 5’11” gives you a 6’6.25 Big John Studd. 6’0” for Rourke would make Studd 6’7.25”??

I am not a liar. I argued with you on Andre's page that Andre couldn't have been above 7' because he was no more than 6" taller than Hogan. You claimed 6'5"-6'5.5" for Hogan and like 7'0.5" for Andre. You talk about Andre losing height. What about Ladd? So Ladd was 6'7.5" and Andre was 6'11" evening. Does that mean Ladd was 6'9" in the morning? Why wouldn't Ladd lose about as much height as Andre? This is all bs. Go look at Andre vs. Ladd from 1976 when both were in their prime and had equal footwear. It is 100% obvious that Andre and Ladd were no more than 2-3" apart in height. If you're going to argue that, your not height crazy, you're just flat out crazy. Then again you are trying to argue that Big Show was only 6'11" at his tallest and was shorter than Andre. That tells me everything I need to know about your estimates. Obvious crap is obvious.

Studd does indeed look a few inches taller there than he normally did. Studd: Weak 6'7" (6'6.5" to 6'6.75") range ...Peak Hogan 6'5.5" to 6'5.75" ??? Most people who knew him well described him as 6'7" & 320-340 lbs. ESPN football talk show host & former NFL all pro Mark Schlereth played in a celebrity softball game with him & several Washington Redskin players, he said John & Joe Jacoby were the same height, but Big John had 40-50 lbs on Joe...Joe Jacoby was always listed @ 6'7" and 300-310 lbs.
