lol, great observation there vegas, this video shows a lot. In the video the undertaker with great posture is taller than jbl, i know that he wore lifts during this time, but he is tall er by 2 to 3 inches so outruling it he still is taller. And if you pause the video at 2:33 you really notice the height difference. NOW this is the ideal picture that is needed level picture etc. 6'7 would be around were the top of the metal is on the titaltron. This looks like a peak bigshow that may have actually been 7'0.5 to 7'1'

Shamrock has the proportions of a 6 footer, so I think he has lost an inch in height since his youth and is now 5'11''.A strong 5'11'' I would say though.

Shamrock back then when I was younger I thought was 6'0-6'1, but looking at him now, he's 5'10. He sure looks 220 something pounds at least.

Alex, Shamrock always striked me as a 6 footer in wrestling but after looking at some more pictures - I think he really is only 5'11''. Ortiz towers over him in many of their staredowns. Serra is 5'6.5 - the shortest "elite" fighter is Sherk at 5'5.75 or 5'6 I think.

Rich Franklin is 6 ft or 5.11 1/2 ,here is a photo of him with Robert Patrick who is listed here at 182 cm , and both look the same height.I posted in the Robert Patricks thread time ago and it was earased , just can find it now.
Plus in the xcience and damagewear website he is listed at 5.11 ,and in early fights when he wasnt a star in the UFC they listed him in the tale of the tape at 5.11 or 6 ft just in their post Shamrock fights he began to be listed at 6.1 , plus in the Ultimate Fighter 2nd season when Rich was the coach he picked Rashad as his teammate , and rashad is around 5.11 and when they stood next to each other and Rich gave him the shirt of his team , they were the same height.
Ken Shamrock is listed in his oficial website at 5.11 205 lbs its stated in an article inside the website ,other UFC fighters heights:

That first pic that ace posted shows Couture and Ortiz with Bobby Jackson who has been measured as 5'11 in nba pre-draft measurements. If the pics are barefoot then Couture looks 5'10 and Ortiz looks 6'-6'1.

I know that you can't always be certain on what ufc fighters heights are according to how their listed on the ufc, but you can use basic deductive reasoning to find out what they're not. Look at Matt hughes, He's listed as 5'9", but he's the exact same height as Frank Trigg who was listed at 5'8" for the longest time. Same thing with Randy and chuck, They were the same height (within .5 of an inch) when they fought. I literally watched the barefoot staredowns on my comp as I have their last two fights. Tito is 1 inch taller than coutoure, 1.25 at the most, I wached the staredown on my comp. Chuck appeared to be an inch shorter than Tito, Chuck's gotta 6'1". His tallest height possible is infact 6'1.5", but that is more unlikely than 6'1". download the fights and wacth the staredowns they're barefoot. Hes the same height as Randy.

I met Tito once since I did a little muay thai and he was there along with Ken Shamrock. Tito is one of the few that is not exagerated. He's 6'3" but Shamrock seemed closer to 5'11" or maybe he had bad posture. I see Randy Couture about the same as Shamrock.

Shamrock was no heavier in his wrestling days than pre-wrestling in the UFC. He checked in at 215-220 back in the day. I would say Ortiz is actually no more than 6'1'' flat ... they very frequently exaggerate height in MMA, also.

If Glenn says 6'2, then maybe it wouldn't be a bad idea to leave it at 6'2. Against Ortiz he looked same height. Against Jackson he also looked the same because he would duck a lot, but when he stretched out he was clearly taller. He may very well be 187, its just that without a good proof this downgrade seems biased.

Editor Rob there are just as many, if not slight more 6ft 1.5 guys in this world than 6ft 2. The UFC only list in even inches so lots of erroneous listings will exist. Probably half of them out by 1/2 inch.

Chuck Liddell is a strong 6'2" if anyone has seen him in anything else besides this picture you would agree he has never looked anything below 6'2" ever. I would guess he is slightly above 6'2" as in 6'2.25" et cetera.
Maybe possibly 6'1.5" but people forget Chuck doesn't care about his posture and is usually slumping.

When UFC first started out before it went mainstream Ken Shamrock was always billed at 181 cm which is potentially his real height. The reason I remember this is because this discussion came up before about UFC guys going over to WWE and get their heights exaggerated. I do think that his wide build made him look a little shorter then he really is.
The UFC has definately became more showy now though.

I think UFC inflates heights and Pride does not. Another example is Anderson Silva. Listed as 5'11 in Pride and towered "5'11" Chris Leben in his first fight in UFC. I watched the one inManc a feww weeks ago...Both Cro Cop and Gabriel were listed at 6'2. Yet there was at least a 1inch diff between them then they stood head to head.

I definitely think they inflate heights but not weights. awhile back, UFC's official site had everyone's heights a couple inches less than what they bill then what they list them for PPV fights. For example: Matt Hughes was 5'7 & GSP was 5'8 (Listed as 5'9 & 5'10 respectively PPV). They've since changed it to match with their PPV heights. Oh, my friend met Josh Koscheck and said he was 5'8 tops as well. he's billed as 5'10. i do think Chuck is 6'1-6'2 so they don't inflate everyone.

They definitely round heights (you don't see guys listed with the 1/2 inch), but I imagine UFC would get in trouble with NSAC (Nevada State Athletic Commission) if they inflated guys' heights and/or reach more than a fraction of an inch, as that impacts betting.

UFC is pretty good about billing their fighters according to actual proportions. They're not interested in freak shows like the WWE and will usually have heights rounded off to the nearest 1/2 inch and weight to 1/2 a pound.
