I expect that Chuck Norris, being a professional fighter, had his height and weight accurately measured when he was fighting. That shouldn't be TOO hard to look up. But whatever the numbers are ... he's all man ... physically AND in character.

I think it's safe to assume that Diesel forgot his boots that day and Norris was in his usual cowboy boots/lifts combo. But even considering that, Chuck easily looks 5'9" there.

Norris with Mike Huckabee, who is listed at 5-11, and a man that I would believe is not a lift wearer, and a man that has no reason to exaggerate his height. As far as I can tell there is a 2.5"+ difference here. That makes Chuck 5-8.5 and maybe closer to 5-8 nowadays.

I mentioned before that I've seen an episode of Walker Texas Ranger where Chuck was playing basketball in some gym and he had flat tennis shoes on instead of his usual cowboy boots with heels (plus lifts maybe?) and he seemed quite SHORT compared to the people around him.

I saw a clear two inches height difference between Chuck and Bruce Lee, more than inch undoubtedly. If Lee was 5'7.5" Chuck was definately in the 5'9" range, near 5'10" at peak is not impossible.

In the pictures with Micheal Bolton and Rob Schnieder, Chuck is wearing black cowbow boots and Rob is wearing dress shoes with at leat 1' Heels. So both heights are exagerated.

i used to work at jfk and see some of these guys frequently
while boarding flts.....chuck wore cowboy boots each time and a thick hair style
i'm 5ft 8in and we were eye to eye..so i would definitely say

I was at the Disneyland Hotel Coffee shop in 1982 and There was a "Wrap"party going on upstairs for one of the MIA pictures. Chuck came downstairs and purchased two cups of tea from the waiter / cashier, a young hispanic kid who was in awe and asked for his autograph. Chuck was nice enough to oblige and that's when I noticed how short he was. I compared him to the kid and after Chuck went back up to the party, I asked the kid how tall he was. The kid said he was 5'7" and Chuck was the same heigth. I didn't notice his footwear though so it may be possible he is even shorter. Nevertheless he is no more than 5'7'

Chuck is only about 5'8". My karate instructor was one of Chuck's black belts from the 1970s. He's only 5'8" and said Norris was the same height as him.

Just watched Missing In Action again. Chuck was pretty much an inch shorter than James Hong and pretty much the same height as M. Emmet Walsh.
I've found 6'0" listings for Hong and 5'10" listings for Hong. Either the 6'0" listings for Hong are off, he shrunk from that height or Chuck Norris wore bigger shoes for those scenes.
In the movie he appeared to be a legit 5'10"-5'11" man so he was probably wearing lifts.

I'll have to watch the Delta Force again. Maybe I'll compare him to his co-stars in his more well known films like Missing In Action, The Code Of Silence and The Delta Force. He had some well known co-stars in those films like Dennis Farina, Lee Marvin, James Hong and M. Emmet Walsh.

Chuck Norris is 5'9" tops, 5'8.5" would be more accurate. Judson Mills who played Gage is actually 5'11" and he towered Chuck by two inches on Walker Texas Ranger. Walker always wore big cowboy boots, the heel gives him a little more height.

I've always read/heard that Chuck is 5'8". As a fellow martial artist and former U.S. middleweight champ (in my style) I can tell you at 5'7" I find that a shorter height if anything works to my advantage, giving you a lower center of gravity. I'm sure Chuck would agree with that. Whatever his height, Chuck is an amazing martial artist who has earned respect Worldwide for his abilities.
I've always read/heard that Chuck is 5'8". I do think that the Chuckster was 5'9" peak, and chances are that he is still close to that height, sure he is an old dude but his martial arts and flexibility has probably ensured that his spine is much healthier than other 67 year old's. Jokes aside he does look physically as good as it gets for a dude nearing 70.

About 2 years ago I was visiting my EX in So Cal. I saw a striking woman at the counter with a short man in sweats next to her. He turned about and it was Chuck. I smile and nodded at him. You know, I'm kind of sorry to learn that Norris has turned into a jerk. Back in the "Lone Wolf McQuade/Code of Silence" era he was a little nicer. But I always did get the impression that he may have developed a superficial charm to use with larger groups of poeple, and could be much more business-like and cool in one-on-one encounters. I've never done more than exchange friendly greetings with him - you obviously scratched through his polished veneer of goodwill and

my mom met chuck norris AWHILE back when i was like 5 years at one of my karate tournaments, and she said that chuck looked in the 5'6''-ish range to her. also my mom's 5'8''-5'8.5'' barefoot, unless she's taller, and that would mean a measuring tape isn't a good way to measure height. also i'm pretty sure she hasn't shrunk in height any b/c she's 40...so, i just put my 2 cents in.

Chuck looks to have about an inch or so over Bruce. Since Bruce is convincingly 5'7" to 5'7.5" (to me anyways), then Chuck is probably 5'8" to 5'8.5", just as Editor's prediction.

Personally Glenn, I believe your analysis about him. What ALWAYS hit me funny, on AE they did a documentary on him and told he had cheated on his wife with in Korea and got the woman pregnant. He said he had no money for child support and she believed him and let him be. After he became "loaded" during the Walker show, her Mom told the now grown girl who her real Dad is and they reunited and today are happy ever after. What about ALL those years he had a kid he blew off? That didn't bother him? Huge character flaw there. See that's why I beleive Glenn in a minute.

He was nice to some.yes.but very rude to my friend for years and when I finally saw him he took photos with 3 of us(one guy had a photo with Norris already) and when it was my turn he said "no,I gotta go" 13 years later I still have yet to run into him.I got the shaft.

editor rob, those photos don't do justice to Chuck's height. In Return of the dragon, chuck looks at least 3" taller than Bruce. Bruce is 5-6, so Chuck was 5-9ish. Glenn no comments from you until you see the movie please.

Editor Rob there's a number of pics around of bruce/chuck. Chuck was taller, not by much, but Lee could have rounded up. 5ft 7.5 is mentioned a lot for him, in book like 'art of expressing the human body' etc...

Look at the movie Lone Wolf MacQuade. You have Dave Carradine listed as 6"0 right? Which I personally think he is. He looked a good 3 inches taller than Chuck who was wearing cowboy boots that we ALL know gives you a 2'' raise. Now Dave is NOT 6"3, so do the math.

Anyway, we got to talking about this and it dawned on me to ask him how tall Chuck is. He said 5'7", 5'8". This guy has fought Chuck 3 times. Yes, he lost to him.

Norris when young looked the same height with the late Bruce Lee,i believe they were both 5'7" then and Norris probably still is because he seems to keep himself in good shape.
