I wanted to see far more of Denis in the film 'The Babysitters'. He appeared twice. What a waste of such a capable actor!
In future I'll stick to AHS. At least it makes good use of Denis's talents.

I'd say that the heels on Denis's shoes in AHS 'Hotel' are 8"-10" - far more than a mere 6"!
This role is by far my favourite of his AHS parts - because he is funny and very much over-the-top!

Denis looks quite a bit taller than Wes Bentley, 5ft10.25, in AHS 'Hotel' in those monster high shoes. They must have 6" heels, or near to that!

@ Lee - I found out today that the new American Horror Story is called '1984'. I saw Denis O'Hare interviewed, among others, and he looks quite a 'tall 5ft8' if you catch my meaning! Some people are just like that I suppose, due to good postures, confidence and neat figures. Denis seemed a very nice man, I must say.

How brilliant is this actor? You wouldn't believe him to be the same guy when you see him as the limping, bedraggled cancer victim with a terrifying past in AHS Season One and then look at him in extremely high heels for his glamorous, comical and thoroughly likeable part as 'Liz Taylor' in Season Five of AHS, 'Hotel'! His fingernails take some beating too! 💅
It's voting time again, so Denis gets 5ft8. 😁👍

My second favourite of Denis's characters has to be the scholarly chap he plays in 'Roanoke'. Only later do you discover that the first, and indeed the majority of the episodes, are a play within a play. Then the actors go back rather stupidly and disbelievingly, to meet what fate has in store for them and it's not nice! They should have learnt their lesson from the state in which the experience has left Kathy Bates, who plays 'The Butcher'.
It was a comedown - quite literally - to see Denis playing his true height again! The shoes he sports in 'Hotel' must raise his height to over 6ft - no, seriously! I think a large percentage of the female population would have trouble walking in things like that, apart from Lady Gaga, of course!

His part as the dressed-up 'Liz Taylor' in AHS 'Hotel' is definitely my favourite of Denis's so far! 😁

Denis plays an transgender man in MASSIVE heels in AHS 'Hotel' and he goes by the name of Liz Taylor!
His new-found 'height' really threw me off-balance, which is the exact appropriation, considering that every worker in the Hotel Cortez is about as unhinged as they come! I'm only on the second episode, the first being a mammoth introductory blow-out called 'Checking In', in which we meet Kathy Bates, as Iris, Denis, a gorgeous Wes Bentley, as a detective called John Lowe and his wife, a doctor, portrayed by Chloe Sevigny, and finally Lady Gaga, as Elisabeth Johnson/The Countess, whose sex games get taken to a new erotic extreme.
If you're trying to guess Denis's height, it's not going to be easy unless he takes those heels off, so 5ft8 it'll be! 👠👠

Denis is more terrifying in the third series of 'American Horror Story' than the first! He has long, lank hair and works in the school for girls with special powers as a kind of butler.
What really threw me just now was the blank expression on his face when he oversees the killing of teenager Emma Roberts' character. Jessica Lange begs for Emma to kill her and become the Supreme Witch because she's herself dying of cancer and won't see the year out. There follows a squabble and young Emma loses. I was mortified. Then Jessica tells Denis to bury her body deeply, because with the powers she was developing, 'who knows what she'll be able to do to the garden?'
Or will she come back? I do hope so, because she was such an amusing little thing, who wore sky high heels and short
dresses - and she didn't mince her words! Rarely do you get the opportunity of seeing how small she is. Guys like Denis though don't get away with female footwear!
His face doesn't show any emotion when witnessing this tragic scene. I couldn't help but notice that Jessica looked taller than him because she, too, was sporting high shoes. The ladies had been out for the night and I was pleased to see that they were bonding. 😢
Denis gets 5ft8.

Denis is one scary looking dude in 'American Horror Story'! I'm just familiarising myself with the cast at the moment, but I had no trouble identifying Denis!
He looks 5ft8 to my eyes too!

Seemed one of the taller actors on the show, I thought he must be at least 5'11".
One of the few casts where just about every recurring actor is under 6 feet, some well under.

I thought he was on here at 174???
Anyway, he does look this height, I'd even believe 5ft8.25.
An brilliant character actor, even in guest spots during the 90's, he had great range.

Yeah, he's really talented and understand even better on stage, on TV shows alone I've seen him play menacing, heroic, mentally slow and brilliant.

Rob can you add films Changeling, Dallas Buyers Club, Milk, Charlie Wilson's War, 21 Grams, Michael Clayton and J. Edgar?

Rob, could you also add Michael Clayton, Changeling, The Eagle, The Proposal and Dallas Buyer's Club to his credits?
Arch Stanton said on 7/May/15
He might be one of my favourite character actors actually. Admittedly I thought of him as taller than this!

Not sure how this guy was missing. His face pops up in tons of films. Rob can you add films Changeling, Dallas Buyers Club, Milk, Charlie Wilson's War, 21 Grams, Michael Clayton and J. Edgar.
