His gigantic arms make him look taller impression.. I was thinking too he is 6'4-6'5. His reach is 82 inches that is extremely long. And he is very fit even if he 58 years old. I think that give him he is 6'4-6'5 impression
Canson said on 1/May/20
@Rampage: prob a weak 6’3 peak I could see
Christian 6'5 3/8" said on 1/May/20
He certainly has the head and hand size of a 6'3"+ guy.
Rampage(-_-_-)Clover said on 30/Apr/20
Canson, yeah there's a chance that he could be 6ft2 now. I think in his hey day he was nearer 6ft3 though.
said on 28/Apr/20
@Rob: he should probably be 6’2” flat if that’s the case?
He could have lost height from his peak years, because I did say not too many years ago that he was looking shorter in person...granted though, he has a very big head in person which can throw off an illusion. Definitely when I met him over 10 years ago, right beside him he was over 6ft 2.
said on 27/Apr/20
solid 6' 4 imo
Bruno looks at least couple inches shorter than big Daniel Dubois
, who is a big 6ft 4 in person
said on 26/Apr/20
He’s taller than dillian whyte though so that would make dillian whyte 6ft2.25 and I don’t think he’s that low Click Here
whatch @5.48 for a few seconds they’re in shot together and Bruno slightly edges out whyte . Think Bruno needs a upgrade to 6ft2.75 and whyte should get 6ft2.5

Damn even though he is leaning he still looks BIG honestly he probably was 6ft3 at his peak.

Here is a video with with Holyfield and Bruno. Skip to 4:45. They are very close but I think Frank edges Evander by about 1 inch. Later in the video, 6'1 Michael Johnson stands next to both men as well.

Rob how do you feel about Andy Ruiz Jr.’s height. He seems listed a lot taller than he is.
Well I think it's safe to say he's probably 1.5 inches less than what he's listed.

I originally thought Bruno was 6’2”. But know i think he is a weak 6’3”. Probablly 6’2.5 - 6’2.75

What a great picture of a GRRreat man! He looks as friendly here as I would have imagined him to be in real life, and another thing: I think his voice matches his stature down to a 'T'!

Hey Rob do you agree that the sweetspot for heavyweight boxer height it 6’2.5-6’3” range? Most of them seem to be around there.
At the moment it seems the heavyweights of 6ft 4+ are becoming the champions. I would be surprised if we ever see another sub 6ft champion in this division again.

Rob, could he be a little shorter than this today?
Editor Rob: Rampage, the last time I seen him I could believe he was under 6ft 3.

Rob, does he have big head up close??
Editor Rob: yes he has a decent sized head, I'd say a fraction more than 10 inches is very possible.

Bruno was indeed 6'3", watch his bout with Lennox Lewis who at 6'4.5" had close to 2 inches on him.

Here's the pictures with Selleck and Hasselhoff. Bruno himself describes Hasselhoff as 6ft7 and Selleck as 6ft6. As the pictures will show that would have been almost true if Bruno was in fact 6ft3. I believe Bruno is well below 6ft3 and the pictures show that Selleck and Hasselhoff edge him by a similar margin.
Adam said on 29/Jan/16
Movieguy, we certainly didn't look at the same pictures. No way he is "similar" to Selleck. The noticeable height difference between Hasselhoff and Bruno is the same as between Selleck and Bruno. I will try to post the pictures but that may take some time.
movieguy said on 18/Dec/15
Looked at the photos of Bruno with Selleck and Hasselhoff. I thought Bruno was similar to Selleck but much shorter than Hasselhoff. I suspect this is deceiving though you can't always judge by photos due to camera angles etc. I actually feel that Bruno probably is about 6'3'', after all he was a heavyweight boxer and Mike Tyson excepted they tend to be pretty big guys. Not everyone exaggerates their height.
AverageHeight said on 4/Dec/15
He sometimes goes to the same gym as me. I stand at 5ft 10 and he was definitely 6ft 3-4 when he was in the swimming pool.
jessman said on 13/Sep/15
I mentioned those pics before on this page. You're right, both hoff and selleck tower over him. I checked google images and the hoff/bruno pic is there. It's from 1986. Hoff definitely has three inches on Bruno. No sign of the sellect pic. There's a more recent pic with Lennox Lewis and Bruno is easily three inches shorter.
Adam said on 5/Aug/15
In one of his books there's a picture of him with David Hasselhoff and at the same event a picture of him with Tom Selleck. Pictures were taken sometime in the eighties and both Selleck and Hasselhoff just towers over him.

Looks more of a 6'2 guy Rob even if he stands straight wont strike me more than a 187 cm guy.
Rampage(-_-_-)Clover said on 11/Dec/13
Was 5in taller than Tyson during that infamous in the 90s.
Solid 6ft3 peak for definite.
said on 12/Oct/13
If he was standing straight he could give a 6'4" impression
[Editor Rob: last year I saw him he looked shorter than 6ft 3 although I think he had smaller footwear so could still be 6ft 3.]

Frank is a big guy and what a deep voice he has too yeah LG69 i think he is 6ft 2.5 or maybe 6ft 2.75, what do you think rob hes probably 190cm today?
[Editor Rob: today i think he can look 6ft 2 range]

I've stood right next to Frank in the changing rooms of a gym! I'm 183cm out of bed and 181cm at night. He was was several inches taller than me, so a comfortable 6'3".
Elijah said on 30/May/13
6'1"ish with the massive lean he has there. 6'3" up straight definitely looks possible.
said on 28/May/13
He's tilting so much, so it's hard to make an accurate guess. I'm seeing 6'2"...maybe 6'2 1/2". Frank does have a huge head.
[Editor Rob: i saw him again a few times in intervening years and he could be less than 6ft 3 although 6 years ago i thought he looked 6ft 3. Last weekend I'm not sure he did.]
alan brisco said on 14/Feb/13
he is shorter than 6'3". Closer to 6'2". look his fight against lennox lewis. Lewis is for sure 6'4" - 6'5". There was a noticable difference between the two fighters. So no true bruno at 6'3".

"Tyson was 5'11 1/2' ie just under six foot. Check him out on boxing rec. Not 5' 10 etc etc. Because he was so wide it gave that impression. Bruno was 6'3 1/2' so the difference of four inches is about right. The classic line, but I met Bruno at a car show maybe 15 years ago... I'm just under 6' 4 Bruno was just a whisker below me but jesus what a physique and may I say a real gentleman!" And there is impossible to think that boxrec is wrong? Boxrec are just taking the official measurements from the boxing matches and they are sometimes very wrong. The boxers get overbilled so they better fit the general image of a heavyweight boxer for example.

Dont understand why he is 6'3 here when all through his career and in the times of what should be his peak height he was billed as 6'2
Physics Enemy said on 10/Dec/11
He's 6' 2" MAX. He's well under Lennox's height and he's got under 4" on a strong 5' 10" Tyson, based on that pic of them from 1996. He does not come close to towering Tyson; 5" difference IS towering. It looks about 3.75".
said on 10/Dec/11
He doesn't have 5" of height on Tyson though. Not when they were fighting. 5" is towering and the difference wasn't THAT noticeable. Don't you agree, Rob? Click here: Click Here
That's under 4" to me, draw a line across from the top of Tyson's head (just under the top of the cap) and see where it lands on Bruno's head. Quite high.
Bruno wasn't 6' 3" and/or Tyson wasn't 5' 10" flat. 5' 10.5" and 6' 2.5" might be it; or perhaps Bruno was just a solid 6' 2", which is definitely believable.
[Editor Rob: yeah in that photo it doesn't look 5.]

Not sure if he's especially large boned; certainly, he's long boned, with a long clavicle and long arms and hands. And his head is huge. But he has a short torso, and toothpick legs.
You can't really put much of a European taxonomical label on the guy.
[Editor Rob: his head is also nearer the camera by 3-4cm, it's amplified in size.]

I believe it is natural selection for guys with bigger heads as many of them start out with big heads like Tyson, Ali, Holyfield did if you look at pictures of them when they are young. Many times trainers will look for and encourage kids with these features to become fighters in the hopes that they can train the next great.

What mat said, Jason. As your muscles transform, so do your skeleton and tendons. Your hands can grow quite a lot, both in the length and girth of the bones, by doing physical labor. Swimming can also thicken the spinal plates and expand the ribcage.
You might be done growing vertically by a certain age, but you continue growing structurally for quite a few years (past 25 really), and if you're still growing, you can still affect and enhance that growth.
Try punching a punching bag, hard, every day for several minutes. I guarantee that the skeletal dimensions of your hands will increase over the course of the year.
mat said on 11/Jun/11
Their bones will get thicker from repeated impact with the bone repairing micro fractures and adjusting its structure to try and prevent further damage in much the same way muscles grow and building large muscles can help to develop thicker bones as the tendons on the bone pull on it encouraging it to get thicker and stronger.
Jason said on 7/Jun/11
Of course exercising muscles causes them to grow Cranberries, but it's not going to change the size of your bones or skull. A better explanation for the big heads of boxers/fighters might be swelling from repeated blows. Or maybe there's self-selection for guys who have thick skulls ^^.
Cranberries said on 5/Jun/11
"holy crap I know he is tall, but is it just me or does the boxer have a huge head."
Boxers and MMA fighters typically have the largest heads (and jaws) of all athletes. In general, the limbs you use the most will grow the most (exercising makes you structurally larger; it's a physiological fact); perhaps the same applies to heads :P.

It's been said (on here) Lennox is something like 6'4.5 or just a flat 6'4. Either way in this current pics Bruno certainly doesn't look 6'3. Though in the 'Battle of Britain' (Lewis vs Bruno) he looked it.
Have a look

He said he'd leave Britain if the Tories lost the 1997 election, the same as Paul Daniels......we're still waiting. He was measured at 6'3.5" for his 1993 title fight with Lennox Lewis. Should get to see him in a few months, he's doing a show at the theatre I work at, i'll try and get a photo with him. A few other stars should be there too. Over the last couple of years i've met quite a few well known stars, never got a photo with any of them though.

Kaneda no offence, but how can someone like Lennox Lewis be described as a 'weak' 6ft 5, anything over 6ft 1 is tall, Lewis was taller than bruno but they are both big guys. if Lewis had Brad Pitts Posture and carefully chosen footwear we would all be crying 6ft 7. I have seen Bruno his posture isn't great but he is tall, definately 6 ft 3 but not a weak 6ft4. Sorry Kaneda I am probably being harsh at your choice of word.

Yeah brunos easily 6,3 i mean the guys a giant. Lewis is IMO 6,5 saw them in a faceoff lewis was just about 2 inches bigger. But i do wonder if at times lewis is actually 6,4. But ive seen many websites listing bruno as 6,3 he's been measured alot and ive never seen anything diffrent from 6,3. but lewis is almost deffently 6,5 IMO.
