British actor, best remembered for playing Inspector Wexford in The Ruth Rendell Mysteries. In film he popped up in The Spy Who Loved Me, Goodbye Mr. Chips and For Queen and Country. In the 1970's he was listing himself at a comfortable 6 feet 2 ½ inches tall.

I always thought he was a solid 6'3". I remember him edging 6'2" Gary Raymond in a 50's swashbuckler and he also appeared taller than Tom Baker in a Doctor Who serial. If George was 6'2.5, then I guess Tom was closer to 6'2" than 6'3" at peak (which I think is likely).

Surprised he's this low he seemed a big 6ft3-4 type guy whenever I saw him. Then again in this scene Moore at 186 and Baker at 189 looks correct..

Looking at him next to Roger Moore I would have guessed 6ft3 but this sounds like it came directly from him...
Editor Rob: he might have been 6ft 2.5 at the very lowest as he could pull off looking near 6ft 3 in the 60's and 70's.
