Rob, this isn’t height related but would you say he has the perfect physique for a ‘Jack Reacher.’
Canson said on 2/Jun/23
If he’s 6’6 out of bed maybe he dips to 6’5 because of his weight. Otherwise 6’5.25 would be his low. My guess is that maybe this wasn’t a combine measurement and was taken somewhere else as it can look near a low. My guess is his low is prob 6’5.25” and that he can wake to 6’6.25 maybe or 6’6 1/8”
Canson said on 31/May/23
I doubt he dips that low.

Rob, how would Bo Burnham stack up with JJ Watt, based on what you've seen of the two?
Canson said on 3/Feb/22
@Rampage: not 100% sure if he would but maybe. His weight makes him a candidate for the full inch though. If what Rob says is true about 6’5 1/8” low he may only be 6’5 7/8 out of bed especially with a 6’5 3/8 combine. I’m about an inch shorter and only lose 3/4” and Christian 6’5 3/8” was also in the same boat of 3/4”. Then again with his weight makes the possibility for 6’6 1/8” or maybe 6’6.25 if he dips to 6’5.25”.
Rampage(-_-_-)Clover said on 1/Feb/22
Canson, I’d be surprised if he got anything less than 6ft6 out of bed
Canson said on 31/Jan/22
@Editor Rob: interesting. I would’ve had him slightly taller than Manning. I would’ve said manning fell to 6’5 flat perhaps and maybe Watt 6’5.25 but I could see 1/8”
Canson said on 30/Jan/22
@Editor Rob:

What range would you go with?

Out of bed 6’6”
1 hour 6’5 5/8”
2 hours 6’5.5
5 hours 6’5 3/8
Afternoon/evening 6’5.25

Or out of bed 6’5 7/8
1 hour 6’5.5
2 hours 6’5 3/8 (meaning hours 2-3 would probably be similar)
5 hours 6’5 1/4
Afternoon/evening 6’5 1/8

Or

Out of bed 6’6 1/8
1 hour 6’5.75
2 hours 6’5 5/8
5 6’5.5
Afternoon/evening 6’5 3/8”

Or would you say he loses the full inch being he weighs around 300lbs

I wonder if he was actually measured at the combine and if they didn’t just use a different measurement as he looks near his measurement at a low. Maybe he’s 6’5.25” but then again at his weight maybe he does fall to 6’5”
Editor Rob
He's a candidate for a full inch loss for sure. I think arguably can fall to 6ft 5 1/8th by evening.
Rampage(-_-_-)Clover said on 5/Oct/21
Rob, could this be earlier in the day?
Editor Rob
I wouldn't think 1 hour out of bed, but maybe a few
Canson said on 4/Oct/21
@Recapa: yea I wonder if Watt’s measurement was an alternate measurement like at a Pro Day etc. sometimes they are held later in the day but sometimes they’re held earlier in the day than the combine too. Watt really strikes me as a strong 6’5 guy bordering on 6’5 1/2” like you said

@Canson, Respectfully why would yousay it doesn't make sense for someone to round up from 6'4.25" ornthe like? It's almost the same as 6'5" anyway and someone who measures 6 4 will probably measure 6'5" in the morning or on a good day right..same aith 6'6 1/8 or so to 6'7 or 6'7.5

Respectfully, Re-read your statement to me. It makes no sense.

Canson said on 15/Feb/21
@RJT: that’s very possible. However some measurements are alternative and come from. pro Day or Senior Bowl. Senior Bowls used to be held later in the day but now they’re morning too. It’s possible his measurement is what you said and maybe 2-3 hours out of bed to come down to 6’5 1/8”. Possible he gets down to 6’4 7/8 to tell you the truth if his is an hour out of bed or maybe a very solid 6’5”. But then again, I don’t necessarily rule out (based on appearance) a strong 6’5” (6’5.25)
RJT said on 15/Feb/21

Canson said on 4/Nov/20
@Viper: possible that this measurement isn’t his actual combine but a Pro Day. I’ve noticed Antonio Brown also looks close to his measurement. It wouldn’t surprise me if he wasn’t measured again. Notice some guys measure the same on both. Watt really does look a strong 6’5 as opposed to just a solid one. He looked taller than Peyton Manning on the commercial. Maybe Manning has lost a fraction today though
viper said on 11/Sep/20
He had over 3 inches on 6-2 Deshaun Watson locking arms last night.

Could even say it looked closer to 4.
Canson said on 18/Jul/20
@Tall Sam: he’s one of the few pro football players other than maybe a peak Peyton Manning and Ben Roethlisberger who can look maybe 6’4.75ish, who can look their combine listings. The others look like they’re less than what they measured being they mostly are early morning. While I wouldn’t be surprised if Watt is maybe 6’5 1/8” or 6’5 I also wouldn’t be surprised if he measured 6’5.25 afternoon height
Tall Sam said on 15/Jul/20
Surprised by his listing, from his appearance hosting SNL alone, thought he looked 6'5" max, maybe more 6'4"-6'5". Then again he often wasn't standing very tall and its hard to judge height without someone of similar height nearby due in part to his huge, cubic frame.
Canson said on 18/Mar/20
@Dream: Thanks! The poster is a troll. Funny how he called me a downgrader when Rob lists him at 6’2.5 today himself and not 6’3” as that poster claimed. You get posters like that who troll and make idiotic comments such as the ones he made. You would never hear that “I want to be taller” had I said someone is taller than Rob’s listing of course. I also am one of the few who agrees that Dolph Lundgren is his listed height and that Tyson Fury is over 6’7”

First of all, Please show me “every post”. You can’t because that isn’t true. I’ve actually said some people are as tall as listed or even taller. And the standard is clearly defined here as an “afternoon height” or lunchtime by Rob which is logical Being it’s what you measure most of the day so it is true that they are “shorter than listed” in many cases. If a doctor mandated that we sleep in their offices prior to a physical then I could see it but they don’t. and when I say round down why on earth would a guy who measures something like 6’6 or 6’6 1/8” round up to 6’7” or why would I at 6’4.25 round up to 6’5? That makes absolutely no sense. What do we stand to gain with that? But it Sounds like it’s not me who has the issue here when a “claim” to be “taller” or use a height earlier in the day is such a big deal? What do you gain in life by doing that. I’m simply following Rob’s standard here which has been laid out so I don’t see your griping. Can you answer what that brings someone in life other than feeding an ego? And your post makes no sense. Make myself smaller? That’s a valid measurement.

@Dream and Rob: sitting at something like 3/8 in the afternoon is a tough spot because you don’t really know which way to round without having to worry about how you look. Sure you could use half but then people look at you funny for both sides of the coin. It’s not used properly either because Most often think they’re doing you a favor rounding you up or people use it as an excuse to round themselves up. I find that funny because if you meet some people and they tell you that they’re going to be 40 in May or June and you call them 40, they may take exception to it. Had to throw that in to show the double standard being it’s no different with height but since one is seen as positive and one negative it’s socially encouraged and not socially excepted, respectively.

But If going by the largest fraction or chunk of the day then round down since that’s where you are for most of it but Christian has said before that he would claim 6’5 but doesn’t because he would get accused of downplaying his height if he did since he’s 3/8 over the mark in the afternoon and because of the general inflation going on in the world so he claims 6’5 1/2 and used to claim 6’6”. I didn’t start exclusively claiming 6’4” until a few years ago but because I come down a fraction lower and can get to 1/4” easily. Before that it was either 6’4 1/2 or 6’4-6’5. I never felt comfortable claiming 6’5” being I have taller friends who either round down or claim their afternoon heights too
Canson said on 15/Aug/19

6ft 5.5 would be the most I'd guess, I can't see a full 6ft 6 - I suppose if you are sitting on that mark, you would round down or up.
Canson said on 9/Jan/19

@Viper and Christian: while Watt can certainly look a strong 6’5”, I would almost be willing to bet money that he isn’t under a flat 6’5 at a low worst case. I only say “almost” because there is a very very remote chance of 6’4 7/8 at a normal low since 6’4 7/8 and 6’5 look the same
Canson said on 5/Oct/18
@Christian: Kobe to maybe worst case 6’4 5/8. Barkley I could see 6’4.5. Cam to me would be about 6’4.5-6’4.75
Christian 6'5 3/8" said on 3/Oct/18
@Canson

True. I'd put Cam at 6'4.5" but that's the lowest for him. Same goes for Kobe and peak Barkley.
Canson said on 2/Oct/18
@Christian: wouldn’t surprise me if Cam is 6’4 5/8 or 6’4.5. He looks 195 generally but 6’4 5/8 is possible too if he was 6’5 at the combine. I know a cousin of mine who has a 6’5 friend said they were the same height when his friend met Cam but I’ve nevee actually seen the 6’5 friend in person. He may only be 6’4.5 or 6’4.75 as opposed to 6’5”.
Canson said on 2/Oct/18
@Christian: best case for Wentz imho is 6’5” flat. But wouldn’t surprise me if he were only 1/2” taller than me or even less or slightly more and were just shy of 6’5
Christian 6'5 3/8" said on 2/Oct/18
@Canson

Wentz could be around 6'4.75" like Newton.
Canson said on 30/Sep/18
Meant to say wentz grew in high school
Canson said on 30/Sep/18
@Dream: manning may be. Favre I believe is. Manning isn’t less than 6’5” peak imho. Watt may be more like 6’5 1/8 at a low. I think Carson wentz is close to his. I don’t have him less than 6’5 flat in terms of how he looks although it stated that he measured 6’5.25 at the Senior Bowl (and stated it was in the morning). Measured the same at the combine. Usually if that’s combine height, he would be 6’4.75 or 6’4 7/8 at a low. Some are only 1/4” off however. Another variable is that Wentz may have grown. He supposedly shot up from 5’8” to 6’5 in college

@Christian: I agree and should add uniformity with posture. Then it may just be a matter of knocking off 3/8 or 1/2” to get to where they are. And this is assuming the measurement is accurate and factual to begin with

I think that both NBA and NFL should start measuring players without socks, in case there are cheaters who hide lifts inside of them.
Dream(5'9.5") said on 27/Sep/18
@Canson

I see what you mean by the NFL being morning measurements.

Although in Watt’s case, he surprisingly looks too close to his combine measurement, if not his full measurement.

I definitely agree with you on some players listed higher because they’re supposedly measured at that height around that time of the day.

There are a few, who I think are measured around a ‘normal low.’ Brett Favre is one of them. I would say a ‘peak’ Peyton Manning is another as well.
Canson said on 26/Sep/18
@Dream: according to what I’ve read, the measurements happen almost right After waking up. I know reading the combine from 2006, the players had rise and shine at 6 am, went and took the drug test and got measured right after. It reflected in the measurements as all of them (I posted this in December and November on Boris’s page) were half inch more than senior bowl listings were. NBA Measurmnets are also early morning. Sportsheight posted the article on Steph Curry’s page back in 2016. I also re-posted here. Says that three players measured out half inch taller (one was 3/4” taller) than the previous year specifically because of the compression. Football and basketball both do it for that reason. They aren’t sitting around doing nothing. Instead, in the first hour, they are taking drug tests etc. I’ve even heard of players lying down stretching etc in order to maintain their height as most of them are aware. And all of this I mentioned is on top of other variables such as socks and if the measurement or reported measurement is accurate to begin with. I’ll find the article on the NFL and post it as well as it’s somewhere down Boris’s page. My thinking for Watt is that he may have lost height faster than other guys but in his case he is a good size for a DE already at 6’5”. I can easily see 196cm.

@Canson That is true too. I agree that Gronk would edge Watt out. I'd still say that Peyton still looks 6'5" flat even today.

Here's the funny thing. JJ Watt actually looks taller than Kobe Bryant, if we make a comparison with the pictures with Yao Ming.

Yao even stands better with JJ Watt than he does with Kobe Bryant, yet Watt looks taller.

I'd argue that 196 cm flat is the lowest Watt looks.
Dream(5'9.5") said on 25/Sep/18
@Canson yeah, Gronk will edge him out. There are pictures where Watt certainly edges out Peyton, even with a camera disadvantage.

Let’s just say that the measurements took place in the early morning. However, athletes like JJ Watt or Peyton Manning wouldn’t be sitting down ‘all’ morning like ‘Oh, I’m just going to do nothing for the morning.’

They get up and exercise. While I don’t think their physical activities would bring them to their absolute low, I would think their physical activities would definitely take out their ‘out of bed’ or even morning height.
Canson said on 21/Sep/18
@Dream: Gronk would still edge him out. I’m not even sure how much he would edge Peyton by or if Peyton is still a full 6’5” given the surgeries he’s had. But yea In the Papa Johns video he does appear to. Maybe camera angle as well
Canson said on 21/Sep/18
@Viper: assuming that the measurement was accurate in the early morning, he likely is worst case 6’5 or 6’4 7/8. Maybe at his weight if he loses a full inch 195 but he never looks that low to be honest. Heavier guys from what I’ve been told lose more and lose it faster both so that may be why he looks the height he looks (196cm).

Canson said on 21/Apr/18
@Christian: yea usually it’s an hour out of bed for most of the players. In some cases, some may go two hours or thereabouts. In terms of appearance, I can’t see Watt under 196cm (6’5 1/8)

Canson said on 19/Apr/18

He was measured at 6-5.3 in the morning. Lol at clearing 6-6 with ease
Dream(5'9.5" said on 19/Apr/18
@Canson Oh no doubt! He’ll clear 6’6” in the morning with ease!

Out of curiousity, how did you know that the more weight one person has, the more height loss occurs? Was that something you and Christian experienced, or did you find it in an article? I would love to read about it!!

@Dream: definitely agreed! He’s a strong 6’5” in general! I don’t see him dipping down to a solid 6’5 let alone under. He looks taller than Peyton today. Generally, the norm has been for players to measure 3/8-1/2 more at the combine than their low since it’s been around an hour out of bed the last 10 years or so (I saw the article in 06 that stated they woke at 6am, drug screened, and immediately measured and compared to their senior bowls were 3/8-1/2” higher). But for Watt, he looks closer to his combine height than most others do. It wouldn’t surprise me if he just loses his height quickly at his size and weight or if they possibly measured him after he had been on his feet maybe 2 hours as opposed to 1. I wouldn’t be shocked if he woke up to 6’6” looking at him

@Canson Agreed, although I would like to believe JJ Watt is a stronger 6'5 than other 6'5 listed people.

I do agree that Peyton has lost height considering the surgeries.
Canson said on 12/Apr/18
@Dream: he likely dips under that mark since the combine is in the early AM but he almost never looks less than maybe 196cm (6’5 1/8-1/4). He does edge Peyton too. Peyton looks like he’s lost height tho today in pics wth Kobe etc. he could be a hair under 6’5 now with the surgeries he’s had
Dream(5'9.5") said on 11/Apr/18
He’s definitely taller than peak Vince Vaughn.

No reason to doubt 6'5 and 3/8ths"
Dream(5'9.5 said on 2/Apr/18
This listing is perfect. Never dips under 6'5" even on a bad day.
Canson said on 14/Mar/18
I’d say no less than a full 6’6 Out of bed and if he gets down a full inch it’s 6’5 flat. Looks 196 tho at his low a rarity being the combine is early morning usually which would mean only about 1/4” less
Canson said on 17/Feb/18
@Christian: I measured my head and it’s approximately 9.6+ (9 5/8 maybe 9 2/3 at best)
Canson said on 4/Feb/18
@Junior: he could be strong 6’5”. I don’t see him anything under 196cm honestly
Junior Hernandez said on 4/Feb/18
Watt is somehow a legit 6'5 guy that prove this gettyimages picture shows Jimmy kimmel just under 5'11.
Canson said on 30/Jan/18
@awkward: he’s one of the few since they’ve gone to Morning combines who measured about what he actually looks. I could buy an easy 196 range for him next to Manning
awkward said on 23/Jan/18
he looks 1-2 cm taller than Kobe Bryant if we make comparison of pictures of them next to Yao
awkward said on 23/Jan/18
195-6 seems right
Canson said on 18/Jan/18
He for sure doesn’t drop under 6’5 on a normal day more likely a full 196 if this is a morning measurement. Still looks 196 honestly
Psychedelic Earth 187 said on 17/Jan/18
Please give a .375” listing.

Yes, I think it's fair enough to give him it.
Christian-6'5 3/8" said on 22/Dec/17
@Jason

Maybe you have a narrow head, and that might accentuate the smallness. I don't think 9.6 is small at all for a 6'4" guy.
Canson said on 21/Dec/17
@Jason and Christian: I’m 6’4” myself perhaps a strong 6’4” and mine is in the 9” range as well. mid 9 but I don’t consider my head small. I’m not sure Kobe’s head is as large as mine is.
Jason said on 19/Dec/17
@Canson you really think it's only 9 inches? Interesting. My head is 9.6 inches and it looks small to me (though that could be because of circumference).
Christian-6'5 3/8 said on 16/Dec/17
@Canson

You sure? Kobe's head is around 9" and his is considered small.
Canson said on 11/Dec/17
@Christian: I’m thinking guys in our range 6’4-6’6 have 9” heads mostly
Canson said on 27/Nov/17
@Christian: another guy that looks awfully close to his combine measurement Is Carson Wentz. Shows 6’5 1/8 and 6’5 1/4 pro day and combine respectively and prob wouldn’t put him under a flat 6’5 tbh (at least from the look of it)
Canson said on 7/Nov/17
Agreed Bard strong 6’5 to me
Bard said on 6/Nov/17
Easily 6'5, doesn't even look that shabby against Yao.
Canson said on 5/Nov/17
@slim184: morning height prob 6’6 but he measured 6’5 3/8 and that even could be Morning. Not sure if that’s his pro day or his combine but I agree with Christian he looks closer to his measured height than most other players meaning looks a decent 196 or strong 6’5 guy imho
Canson said on 5/Nov/17
@Christian: you’re right I misinterpreted a bit. I think as far as you and Berta he doesn’t lose as much (from what he said) as you and I or the average person does. You two are prob very close. I think if all things were equal he would be shorter than you slightly and prob just above 6’5 or a flat 6’5” at night. But I agree if I saw you two next to each other I prob wouldn’t be able to tell a diff. You both have Bobby3342 and me by an inch and even In Bobby’s case he isn’t as regular a poster as you Berta and me. I do miss SJH tho he was a great poster who added a lot of value and was on point. Enjoyed discussing heights with him as well
Christian-6'5 3/8 said on 3/Nov/17
@Canson

I think Height Sky meant users who comment on this site frequently. I haven't seen John or SJH or insomniak comment here recently, and for sure not Ali Baba. So I believe the tallest frequent users at the moment who revelaed their height are me and berta (berta once said he's between 196-197cm so rougly about my height)
Christian-6'5 3/8 said on 3/Nov/17
@Height Sky

I think it's S.J.H. and insomniak, they're 6'7" and 6'5.75" respectively, if memory serves me correctly. I don't see them commenting lately though. But maybe the tallest user in recent activity is me, but that's not knowing the heights of all users here because not everyone reveals their heights.
Christian-6'5 3/8 said on 3/Nov/17
@Canson

What do you think is the average head size for guys our height? (6'4"-6'6" range)
Canson said on 3/Nov/17
@Height Sky: there’s a guy John who is 6’7 and S.J.H who is “about 6’7” and then a couple 6’6” guys Insomniak and Ali Baba (not sure who is taller of the two but imagine Insomniak as he’s grown over the last year and Ali Baba is a hair under 6’6” these days). Christian and I are both up there but prob not even top 5 since we’re both a tad over 6’5 and tad over 6’4 respectively at our lowest.
Height Sky said on 3/Nov/17
@Canson @Christian

Who are the tallest regular visitors? How tall?
Canson said on 2/Nov/17
@Christian: mine is roughly 9.5 I believe when I measured it once
Christian-6'5 3/8 said on 2/Nov/17
@Canson

What's your head length? (from tip of chin to crown of head) Mine's roughly 9.7", and there's a user named berta, he's about my height and his is 10.6" which is very big.
Height Sky said on 2/Nov/17
@Canson @ Christian

I think a strong 204 cm is giant if compares with the people but if you see the complexion of the body of a 197 cm guy... that seems like a semi giant.
Canson said on 1/Nov/17
@Height Sky: that’s odd they’re just .3cm apart. Really a semi giant is above where Christian is. That’s prob along the lines of 2M. A real Giant is maybe 205+. Christian is essentially 196 at the end of the day since he’s closer to 196 than 197 being he falls in between the two
Christian-6'5 3/8 said on 1/Nov/17
@Height Sky

I believe "semi giant" (or the Super Tall range how I call it) is around 6'6"-6'8", and anything over that is a true giant.
Slim 6' said on 1/Nov/17
Guillermo and Kimmel are in a serious need of a downgrade.
Height Sky said on 1/Nov/17
@Christian

Man, for me there are a difference between strong 196.2 cm and 196.5 cm, the last one is the start of semi giant, you are very very near but not
Canson said on 31/Oct/17
@Christian: Brock osweiler can look near his too. Supposedly measured 6’6 7/8 I won’t put him under maybe 199.5-200cm prob. Looks 1.5”-2” taller than Manning sometimes
Canson said on 31/Oct/17
@Christian: we’re literally exactly an inch apart. I’m anywhere 6’4 1/4-3/8 at night
Christian-6'5 3/8 said on 30/Oct/17
@Height Sky

Sometimes 6'5 3/8" and others 6'5.25", depending on the day.
Canson said on 30/Oct/17
@Slim: wonder if Kimmel tried to convince him that he’s 6’7” or try to “flatter” him. Well It really isn’t flattering as it’s not a very desireable hejhht for guys not playing pro sports
Canson said on 30/Oct/17
He looks comfortably over 6’5” with Messi here. No less than maybe 196 or even 6’5.25 agree with Christian

Christian, How tall are you in your low?
Christian-6'5 3/8 said on 28/Oct/17
@Editor Rob

I believe a 10-10.25" head is pretty big even at 196-197cm range. User berta is similar in height to me and JJ and has a 27cm (10.6") head and he gets told by people that he has a big head. Mine's 9.75" (just measured it) and I never get told that my head's small for my height.
Borats Chicken said on 28/Oct/17
Rob, you reckon his head length is similar to alexander Skarsgård? or near 10 inches
Editor Rob
I would say JJ's head was 10-10.25 range, not huge for his height, quite typical of what you'd expect.
Canson said on 27/Oct/17
@Christian: well said. I was thinking somewhere along those lines. Maybe 6’6 out of bed 6’5.25 or 6’5 1/8 at his lowest or could even be what you said 198-199 and 196-196.5 at his lowest. You said it well before that he looks his draft height even tho it was likely in the AM. Might be an anomaly tho
Christian-6'5 3/8 said on 26/Oct/17
@Canson

Being that Watt's 290, he might lose a full inch. So I think 6'6.25" morning and 6'5.25" night.
Canson said on 25/Oct/17
@Christian: you think 6’6” out of bed?
Canson said on 25/Oct/17
@Christian: I’ve taken some notice ever since Bobby said it. I have a 6’4” friend who is 300. He is 6’5” out of bed and gets down to 6’3 7/8 at his extreme low but loses an inch every day.. Now the rate at which you lose may be a variable or not I wonder
Christian-6'5 3/8 said on 24/Oct/17
@Canson

I've heard before that the heavier you are the more height you lose, but I've never heard of being heavier = losing height at a faster rate.
Canson said on 23/Oct/17
@Christian: I have to agree. I’d say he’s very close in height with you. Although I thought he clearly had manning I’m beginning to think he may not. I see some pics where he’s taller some where he’s shorter. But at a push I can say if he isn’t a full 196 he’s no worse than 6’5” at his lowest but my guess is 6’5 1/8 probably makes sense and could be something like 6’5 7/8 out of bed or 6’6”. I remember Bobby3342 saying once heavier guys lose their height faster throughout the day he may be the case
Christian-6'5 3/8 said on 23/Oct/17
I think Watt's one of the few NFL players whose measured height is very close to his lowest height. I doubt he's less than 196cm and may actually be 6'5.38"
Borats Chicken said on 21/Oct/17
Rob, who would stand taller J.J watt or peyton manning?
Editor Rob
Watt is technically 6ft 5 and 3/8ths pre-lunch, so I give him 6ft 5 and 1/4, he probably would look taller than manning due to head size being slightly smaller, even though they could measure quite close.
Canson said on 19/Oct/17
Looks exactly as listed. Looks a small fraction taller than Peyton Manning. Peyton may not be more than solid 6’5” today
Pedro said on 16/Oct/17
Looks to have a good 6 inches on Kimmel there, making his own 6'1 claim look embarrassing.
