this morning I was playing in a pick up basketball game around 11, on the venice beach back court. Anyways, it was a 5 on 5 full court and Jake Gyllenhaal was on the other team. I am new to this site, but I found it because I was impressed by his height. I thought he was short, but he was the tallest on the court. Around 6'1, no shorter than 6.05. Also, he was playing really rough. It was surprising, but he was shoving a shorter defender around on offense and on D he was pushing through picks and cursing at people.
Anyways, he is 6'1. I have never had a stanogram, but I assume I am 5'11 barefoot and 160 pounds. He is 6 foot 1 and 180-185 pounds.

Jake's obviously not that mach taller even if he's slouching. There are more pictures around of them out biking but nothing from a useful angle I've seen yet.

I dont' think Jake is 6. I am a 5.9 tall girl and my friend is 6f tall and so she looks much taller then me, as for Jake when he has some average heighted women wearing heels next to him he looks the same height as she. So I think he is 5.10, like my other friend who is like 5.10 and a half and is noticibly taller then I.

The least thins to do is to assume some's height by watching the movies, it's the same talking about actress' hair color - it can be canged in five minutes!!! But in general I think he is under 6 feet, look at his real life pics, he looks average.

Ok all of you people that are saying "there is no way jake is taller than 5' 10" judging by these pictures..." If you haven't personally met him, how do you even call your judgments? Pictures don't prove EVERYthing. I have met jake and I know for a fact that he is at least 6' because he was wearing ugg slippers when I met him and there is virtually NO lift in an ugg slipper. So sorry to dissapoint you all but jake is a pretty tall guy, 6' at least.

Jake IS 5'10".
He might use lifts sometimes but most of the time he DOES look 5'10" (me), plus MD's photos proved and settled it, Jamies Foxx is also 5'10".

Okay my dad is 6' and he's taller than a LOT of guys. You can tell he's tall. Lot's of guys are estimated to be 6' when they're really 5'10" or 5'11", it's a common mistake. I'm not saying that he is 5'10". But he just doesn't look that tall. I'll have to see more pics.

He was significantly taller than me (seeing as I stood next to him) and I am a little bit under 5' 10". I personally think he is at least 6' 0" even, because uggs don't give that much of a lift.

Jamie Foxx may be starting to wear lifts now since he has become "very" famous. So it may not necessarily be a good idea to use Jamie Foxx as a calibratory element in regards to judging someone's height.

All I know is that he's not much taller than Elijah Wood in the pictures on Wireimage.com. I don't think that he could be over 5'9" or 10". He is shorter than Leno and Leno is only 5'10". Hmmm. I think his papparazzi shots show how avg. height he is too. This is no 6 foot by any means.

I'm confused, here. Here is 5'11" Peter Sarsgaard and 5'9.75" Jamie Foxx, with Jake not looking 6'0" at all. Either he's not 6'0", or all of them are siginficantly taller than we think.

In an interview with the Guardian newspaper it said he was 6'2'' which supports anonymous below. However from my memory of Donnie Darko he didn't strike me as that tall.

In the movie The Day After Tomorrow, Jake Gyllenhaal & Dennis Quaid are around the same height. I would have never pictured Jake to be 6'0, but after watching that movie again, I know he has to be.

You guys can't judge people's height from pictures. Posture, foot position(whether or not they are taking a step), what type of shoes they are wearing, all comes into account. Glenn's picture is really awkward so its hard to judge it from that.

realistically hes no less than 6 foot. People are jealous of his overall package - i just read a report saying he was 5 foot 9 and not that good looking in real life - i mean come on thats ridiculous! I saw Jake and Kirsten at lunch one day. When he stood up, he looked 5-10.5. When I passed in front of him to get a better height, he straightened up, and was pretty close to 6 feet. He slouches all the time.

To expand on everything I've said, I was watching the Tonight Show with Jay Leno (as I do nearly every night) tonight/today and Heath Ledger was the guest. For what it is worth he was maybe half ann inch taller than Jay (but no more). It would probably be best to revist both of these guys heights as something just doesn't seem to add up, here. I still think that Heath is somewhere between 5'10.5" and 5'11.5" barefoot, and Jake would be an inch less than that.

Saw Jarhead last night, had no idea before I saw it how tall Jake was, from watching it, and comparing him to Fox (5'9.5"), it looked to me as though he was 6'0 even, he is also well built, which gives the illusion that he could be bigger still.

Saw him at Dolce last year. I stand 5'10" barefoot and was wearing regular trainers and stood face to face with him. He was about 2 inches taller than me and no less. I can say for sure that Jake is a 6 footer and also a very nice guy.

no just kidding, but he was slightly shorter (one inch/half-inch or so) in october sky because he was only about 17 during the filming of that movie. so if that's one of the things you are basing your conclusion off of, it's slightly innaccurate.

In this month's Premiere magazine, Jake is described as "six two" and muscular. Since he has TWO big movies coming out(Jarhead and Brokeback Mountain), apparently he is starting to grow!

I saw Jake about 2 months ago, while he and Kirsten were having lunch in LA. While I admit he does not look it, he is a pretty strong 6 footer. (I found a reason to stand next to him when they got up to leave!)

Look at him next to Kirsten .He isn't 6' .He has to be like 5'9-5'10 the most.

I have been trying to figure out how tall Emily Rossum is, and judging from the movie "Day After Tomorrow", she is probably about two inches shorter than Jake G. In "Phantom", she appears to be about 5 inches or so shorter than 6'2" Gerard Butler, so my guess is, Jake G. is probably about 5'11". Like I said, just a guess.

He looks around 6 feet to me in all of those pictures that the last guy posted. He's 5'11" at the very least.

editor come on you've got to be kidding? did you see that pick with danson and jake. there's no way 6 2 danson is only two inches taller then jake. hell the man's eyes are align with the top of jake's head making him what, a max of 5 10!

Worked as an extra with him in a gulf-war movie coming out this year, and he does look 6'0. I'm about 5'10'', and did look 2 inches taller
