Exactly 5'11. Reported as 6 feet. Though years ago some British paper reported him as 6'2 for some reason. I don't believe he wears lifts though.

The guy is no shorter than 5'11. In his early films he looked 5'11-6 feet. I can't imagine a 17 year old Jake would have wore lifts for October Sky or Donnie Darko or Bubble Boy when he was an unknown actor. The guy is 5'11.

Editor Rob never seen the film yet, last ones I seen with Jake were Prisoners (decent) and End of Watch (struggled through that one), but I think he held up better with Hugh jackman, in that film, he didn't seem anywhere as short as 5ft 10!

He can look between 5'11 and 5'11.5 like Rob says. But he's definitely not the 6ft he claims. I've seen some shots where he looks about 4 inches taller than 5'7.5 Mark Ruffalo, but it looked like his footwear gave more height than Ruffalo's in those. I'm going with 5'11 - which is what he looks most often.

Near 5'11.5 is an arguable measurement, 181.3-181.6 cm range is not impossible, but I wouldn't go any higher - he's not a solid 182,0 cm + guy imo.

I don't see over 5-11 on photos but photos are not a 100% proof.
I am 5-11.5 and on some pictures from the same shooting I stand straight and look taller than my 5-11 friend and same as other 6-1 friend and on the other photo I look shorter than 5-11 friend, with only a bit of slouching.

I have a friend who is 5'11 5/8" in the morning. He has horrendous posture and always looks 5'10". My friend has shorter limbs too. Jake also has horrible posture and a shorter looking build and Its very deceiving. I think he is a weak 5'11" as he looks more 5'9" then 5'10" at times.

I think the thing when meeting celebs is that you have to factor in their footwear (which I am sure you did), but you also have to factor in if they were on the move or stood still, and if they did, how far away from you they were. Did you happen to walk besides him? Did you talk to him face to face? Was it on a sloping pavement? Did he wear boots? Etc.

Since I rarely see him in anything but boots I can't trust the 6ft claims, he barely looks it, even in boots. Yeah he could be just shy of 5'11 as he's a sloucher and probably loses out on a couple of centimeters when posing with fellow celebs. Do research before you post. Go to Brad Pitt's page, there are barefoot pictures posted by delphonic on 1/Jan/12 of Pitt and Paltrow where Pitt is virtually the same height as Paltrow. Those pictures are the proof Pitt is 176 MAX barefoot, i.e. without his lifts. George Clooney is around the same height as Pitt, and Damon is slightly shorter than both Pitt and Clooney, hence my 176 and 174 estimates for Clooney and Damon. As for Jonathan Ross, go to his page, he looked below 6'0" next to Gary Lineker who claims 5'9" for himself. I think YOU are the one who needs to think for a second, rather than blindly believing all of the listings on here.

Klem take a look at the picture posted by ChiasmataX on 25/Nov/11, there's more than 1 inch between Gosling and Gyllenhaal, I would even say the difference is at least 2 inches. Even if gosling is 182cm like you suggest, that makes gyllenhaal 177cm range. Thing is though, Gosling is 180 flat at best, putting Gyllenhaal in the 175cm range. No matter how you look at it, Gyllenhaal's 182cm listing is way too high.
