I’m watching Sky Arts and the ELO are doing a concert with all their famous hits from the 70s. Jeff is still young and at full height. What a lovely surprise to find the great and thoroughly original band playing this Saturday afternoon!

Peak height - 5ft10.75. Jeff looks fairly tall on my TV.
5ft10 for today’s height. 🎸🎶👌🏼

I’ve just been forwarded on to some of Jeff Lynne’s music, after listening to Bob Dylan.

It’s not that I mind - it’s fantastic!

5ft10.75 peak and 5ft10 today.

With Jeff having formed one fifth of The Traveling Wilburys, been part of The Move and led the ELO, could he please at
some stage, Rob, be added to the Rock Singers’ Page?

The ELO had a song called Rockaria, ergo that says it all!

Yes, Jeff was indeed in The Move. I watched the video earlier this morning for their song, ‘I Can Hear The Grass Grow’.

It is set in a wood, and the band stop off for a cuppa. What, pray tell, were they drinking? Mushroom tea…..?

The group were listed as psychedelic pop. With the lyrics to ‘Flowers In The Rain’ and other curiosities besides, I’m hardly
surprised!

I’m wondering if he was in The Move now. I was listening to them yesterday, and my back garden fox was watching me dancing, so for his cheek, I fed him! Anyway, I’ll have to check that one out….

One guy who was in The Move was Roy Wood. He was also in ELO and Wizzard, and very distinctive looking with his monstrous great mane of hair, which was worn that way while he was in Wizzard. I saw him on TV recently, and noticed that he wasn’t very tall. I’d say around 5ft7-7.5, though I was rather thrown off the track because he dated Lynsey de Paul, and looked quite tall.

Jeff gets 5ft10.75 peak and 5ft10 for today. He and Bob Dylan are the only Wilburys who are still alive, alas.

I met Jeff Lynne at the BBC Radio 2 in Concert last year (2019) - we got a picture together, I am exactly 5'6 - and Jeff was much taller than I am, he's firmly 5'10 to 11.

Oh yes, and he was also in The Move. Theirs was the first track to be played on Radio One, and it was called 'Flowers in the Rain'. (I think! I was into my music at an early age!)

So there! 😝

Peak height: 5ft11
Now: 5ft10

He was also in 'The Travelling Wilburys'. He's only one of two who remains alive, alas. Darn good band!

Hi Rob, from what I have noticed in films and pictures, he looks about the same height as Paul McCartney and George Harrison, if he is not slouching.

Well I think he looked taller than someone like George did in the 80's, in more recent years I think looks sub 5ft 10 now.

Oh nice one! He is here after all! I loved 'The Move', who were the first band to be played on Radio One by Tony Blackburn, in 1967. The song was 'Flowers in the Rain', sung by Roy Wood, though Jeff was in the band and fronted and co-wrote many of their songs.

Of course in the ELO it wasn't the easiest thing in the world to judge the heights of the many members sitting down playing their instruments, but when Jeff was photographed with the other 'Travelling Wilburies', I actually noticed that he wasn't as tall as I always thought he was when I was a child - and I'm talking about 6+ years old, when every adult seems like a giant!

I can believe 5ft10.5 for his peak though, and an inch off for today.

Jeff Lynne at 5'10" seems accurate.
