@Visotor Trump is easily well above 220. He was listed variously from 236 (in 2016) to 245 (when he got Covid), and I still think they’re shaving off 30-odd pounds there
Visitor said on 2/Feb/21
When you're comparing him to Trump, Obama, Bill Clinton... I think it's especially relevant to remember his age. Biden is older than any of those guys, especially Obama. Stop to think that Biden was (as Vice President) about 20 years older than Obama and almost 70 years old, that's apples to oranges if you look at pictures from that era.
There's the picture of Biden with REAGAN that's been mentioned and other old, I mean OLD, pictures of him. There's one with Jimmy Carter, Biden looked huge next to him.
To whoever replied about Trump being "obese" instead of "overweight", I simply wanted to avoid making it look like a political statement.
But also, "obese" actually means really, REALLY, overweight. I used to be overweight myself, I had a huge gut, had to get larger clothes etc. very visibly just plain fat, but I was never "obese", my BMI was still at max 28.5-29 or something. "Obese" would be more than 30, so do you think Trump weighs significantly more than 100 kg/220 lbs? From the little I've seen, I don't think Trump is THAT heavy, of course it's possible though.
Mickie said on 31/Jan/21
I'm not shocked he's shrunk less than an inch. Some older people don't lose much. I've had older relatives who shrunk noticeably but some who didn't. I'd say peak 6'0.25" and current 5'11.5" - 5/8".

Did not look more than an inch shorter than 6'1 Obama. A pretty strong 6 feet in his prime, possibly close to 6'1 as a young man. Today at 78 he might be a little less than 6 feet but still seems pretty tall. He did not lose much height in old age and seems in pretty good shape. Trump did not look much taller in the debates.
Spooner said on 26/Jan/21
I personally don't think he was ever 6'0½, likely a strong 6'0 though. I'd say he's about 5'11 ½ now, and will probably be about 5'11 after his first 4 years (or longer, hopefully).

Trump didn't want to attend the inauguration because he didn't want to confuse people as to why a self proclaimed 6'3" man looks near the same height as a 5'11"+ man.

Journalists love to mention that elections are usually won by the taller candidate. Doesn't seem to apply, when it comes to US presidential elections in the 21st century.
Bush won against a taller candidate twice. Obama won against a shorter candidate (McCain), but also against a slightly taller candidate (Romney).
Trump won against a shorter candidate (Hillary), but also lost to a slightly shorter one (Biden).
So only in 2 out of 6 elections did the taller candidate win.

Joe was probably 6’0 1/4”, so he has very healthy height loss for a man his age. Kept his height very well. Probably since he is in such good shape. Trump however is a different story. Trump has shrunk close to 2 inches from his peak of 6’2” and he is younger than biden. I assume Obama won’t lose over a half inch until his late 70’s also due to his incredible health. I've never had that happen to me fortunately. That's one of the most ridiculous things I've ever heard concerning height. What if someone's wearing internal lifts inside their shoes, and the doctor/nurse isn't aware of it, and only counts the outside thickness? If I was a doctor, not only I'd make my patients take off their shoes, but their socks as well, in case they might be hiding lifts inside their socks.
said on 6/Nov/20
@Editor Rob: I’m not certain if he would. When was the 5’11 5/8 taken? If that were recent, I doubt it. 5’11.5 maybe but I’m not sure if these guys are measured early morning either. May have been the case with Barack Obama too being we know Trump’s is falsified; or the nurse may simply estimate shoe thickness and try to guess how tall you are without. I had a nurse tell me that once (as I’ve mentioned over the years). I wasn’t having it. I took them off.
it would be next year another physical, so if he got 11 5/8th a couple years ago, maybe he could lose another fraction. At his age and the efforts he's putting in (when 99.9% of men that age are retired) it can take it's toll on the joints.

Also to the guy who said Trump is slightly overweight, the man is obese. We've become so used to seeing fat people we can't even recognise when someone is obese. Jesus Christ. Slightly overweight? Its a good thing Biden is in good shape because this election continues to be heart stoppingly stressful regardless of your age.

Highly doubt he was 184cm, that 182cm measurement was taken in shoes. In US they commonly measure in shoes in medcials. I reckon he was 181-182cm peak barefoot, 180cm today. He wears built shoes, I can tell by the way he walks.
Visitor said on 29/Oct/20
Another great example showing that you don't need to be "6 feet" to be "tall". It's just a number, it doesn't really mean that much. Speaking in centimetres, someone could be 181 and someone else 183, so what?
In an old picture: shaking hands with Reagan, Biden was a LOT taller. Official portrait standing next to Obama but behind him: almost no difference. Obama was taller by maybe one cm. Definitely less than an inch.
In the debates, I thought Biden was the same height as Trump and at times even taller than him. I was a bit surprised (I had never seen any figure before for Biden, so I simply didn't know). Certainly their profiles are different, Biden LOOKS tall, he's lean, whereas Trump has a larger build and is definitely slightly overweight. His suit jacket for example looked HUGE compared to Biden even though they are pretty much the same height anyway, give or take an inch if you like.
Also considering his age. At 78 he must've lost a little height but has great posture and still appears tall compared to most anyone. The 70+ people I know have lost a LOT of height, even the ones who still stay active. They routinely drop from 185 to 180 cm basically. Biden is in incredible shape for his age.

I understand that ads are not endorsements. I think Trump had an initial presumed and quite massive advertising budget advantage but then over the year Biden came to completely dominated Trump in fund raising, now I understand that he is outflanking Trump in radio/podcast ads as a result.
BTW, 6'0.75" is possible for peak Biden but would be the highest I'd guess for him.
I just checked my google 'review ads' area and there are definitely pro Biden ads appearing, from sites like stop-republicans.org and IWillVote.com
But I'd say from looking at the amount, Trump definitely has a bigger online ad budget as he's running a lot of anti-joe style ads too...

I've observed that the political ads I see pop on this site as banners on here have all been for Trump but I think its quite possible a Biden favoring ads could pop up just as well. I will mention that height is just one of the several things that Trump has been known to lie about so that is relevant to celeb heights but that is far from exclusive to him among celebs.
Ads are not endorsements and it's up to Google and ad-bidding what gets shown.
Trump very likely has a bigger ad budget than Biden though...and depending on your google profile, you get shown ads that could be tailored to your preferences etc.

@Rampage, you might be right that Trump would sport lifts occasionally, although I don't think he does so routinely. I don't know what to make of Trump's occasional bizarre stance and posture. The rumor that he weighs around 280 pounds is believable IMO (more than his own claim of 239-244) but not that recent baseless 322 pound claim. As opposed to Biden who I'd believe as a trim 180 pounds. I think the difference between the two is likely less than an inch of height and has never been greater than 1.5 inches, as the listings reflect.
Sinclair said on 6/Oct/20
At last week’s Presidential Debate, Biden looked a strong 5’11”, Trump looked slightly taller. For Biden’s peak height, I would estimate 6’0.5” and for today, I feel 5’11.5” is the best fit for Biden.
Rampage(-_-_-)Clover said on 1/Oct/20
Saw the debate and quite honestly it was hard to gauge Biden and Trump height-wise. From a distant angle there didn’t appear to be much. Trump is most definitely wider (not in a good way) and stout compared to Biden whose looked lean but upright. I suspect Trump wear lifts though

vastlybetter566 said on 21/Sep/20
We probably won't see Trump and Biden standing close to each other during the debates. First, for the obvious reason of Covid, and, second, because they don't want to look too friendly with eachother. IIRC Hillary and Trump didn't shook hands or stood close to one another in the 2nd and 3rd debate.

Rob, I think Biden easily pulls off 6ft1 with Reagan, if the latter was still around 6ft.
Reagan could have been close to 6ft, with Arnie in that era
...it's always interesting how some papers in the 80's actually described Arnie as 5ft 10. This was long before the Washington Post 90's article.
said on 13/Sep/20
Here’s Joe with a President Reagan in 1987
Rob, what do you think?
The link didn't work, but I presume This one
, he could edge out Reagan (who at that time might be 6ft).
Rampage(-_-_-)Clover said on 13/Sep/20
Rob, I reckon there’s hardly anything between them, 2cm tops maybe. But it’s a question of is Trump now closer to 6ft flat or could Biden still measure close to 6ft?
viper said on 12/Sep/20
Yeesh, take out any biases and Biden has lost about 20 steps from just a few years ago.
Obvious cognitive decline
said on 11/Sep/20
Biden is mentally and physically in far better shape than Trump, viper but I see there this is going and I don’t think we should dispute it further. This is an apolitical forum
Yeah, I would like to see Trump and Biden do a debate, so we can compare their height...not their policies or how they speak teleprompter free.
viper said on 9/Sep/20
Biden doesn't seem healthy or have much energy.
Trump seems, way, way younger in that regard
6'3 Julian said on 8/Sep/20
@Animus heavier men don’t last as long. Most old men are skinny and we all know why
vastlybetter566 said on 8/Sep/20
Biden is a pretty healthy guy. I don't think he would run at his age, if he had poor health.
Animus said on 6/Sep/20
Impressive that his weight, at least at the time of his physical, was a mere 178lbs. For a 182cm man at his advanced age that is not a lot of weight to be carrying.
Rampage(-_-_-)Clover said on 5/Sep/20
There was NEVER 3in between Biden and Trump.
vastlybetter566 said on 4/Sep/20
I'm surprised Joe never made a claim. I bet, he would add at least an inch to his height and call anyone questioning his claim a "lying dog faced pony soldier".
Nik Ashton said on 30/Aug/20
I have seen his son Hunter described as 5’8” online! 👌
Jtm said on 29/Aug/20
Sorry tariffman but you need evidence to back up your estimate. You just seem like you are downgrading his height because you hate him so much.
Tall Sam said on 28/Aug/20
Ah Sleepy Joe, the unfunny school yard taunt of a bullying "president"...who may have lost around 2 inches to Biden's rough inch of loss, plus an exponential amount of pounds for Trump (health and exercise can make a difference).
TariffMan said on 27/Aug/20
Sleepy Joe is a VERY WEAK 5ft11.
(And I'm not judging, how close Sleepy Joe is to 5ft10)
I'm going with a VERY WEAK 5ft11
Rampage(-_-_-)Clover said on 23/Aug/20
Biden - weak 6ft1
Trump - strong 6ft2
Rampage(-_-_-)Clover said on 22/Aug/20
Really though, there’s photos of Biden with Trump at Bush Sr.’s funeral and Trump is barely taller.
said on 20/Aug/20
Rob, would you say Biden has lost less than average for a 77 year old?
yeah, I think around an inch by mid 70's for him.
Rampage(-_-_-)Clover said on 20/Aug/20
Nik Ashton said on 16/Aug/20
Trump may think that Joe is 6’2”!
Which would be the greatest compliment! Probably would think Barack Obama is 6ft4 too
Alir?za said on 16/Aug/20
If he is still 182 cm at 77 years, his peak height could be easly 6'1.5-6'2. Honest man for saying his current height, considering that Trump said 1 inch above his peak height
Nik Ashton said on 16/Aug/20
Trump may think that Joe is 6’2”!
JustJohnny said on 14/Aug/20
I’ll give Joe the 6-0 currently and in recent years.
As veep, he only looked 1” shorter than 6-1 Obama.
Rampage(-_-_-)Clover said on 14/Aug/20
He still looks a solid 182cm now
Rampage(-_-_-)Clover said on 9/Aug/20
Yeah I think B is even arguable. But A is pushing it, that’s more Obama territory

Rob, which of these peak is arguable?
C-B is possible, more so than just E

Rob, how tall does Pete Buttigieg look with Biden? Also, Buttigieg and Patrick Stewart were on Jimmy Fallon together—how would you say they stack up to one another? Thanks.
Pete might be around 5ft 8, didn't seem much different than Patrick
David duFresne said on 14/Mar/20
I don't know what his footwear is, but he looks 6', so I'll give him that. Would not surprise me at all if he is some fraction below it. It's hard for a 5'11 flat guy to stand out in modern America, at least among white voters, so I'd say he's got to be above that. Besides, he might take me outside if I shortchange him.
omar said on 10/Mar/20
Hasn't lost as much height as bernie, but has lost way more brain power.
Nik Ashton said on 20/Feb/20
I wonder what he claims!
Rampage(-_-_-)Clover said on 19/Feb/20
185cm peak wouldn’t surprise me
Eric W. Tam said on 17/Feb/20
I like how his Google height is sandwiched between his peak and current heights. I'm just going to give him 185 cm peak and 181 cm now.
greg99 said on 9/Feb/20
I Saw Joe in the Iowa debate, and he was noticeably the tallest person on the stage (slightly taller than Bernie), including 5'11" Jake Tapper. Biden still appears to be close 6' - I would have guessed a young Joe Biden would have been 6'1" or close to. He really hasn't lost that much height, which is odd.
said on 19/Jan/20
Rob, how tall does Marco Rubio look here in 2011 with Biden? Less than 5ft 9, I think.
Looks closer to 9 than 8 with Joe
Rampage(-_-_-)Clover said on 29/Dec/19
There are pictures of him in the 70’s towering over Jimmy Carter. He was over 6ft in his prime for sure, quite possibly near 6ft1...
cmillz said on 28/Dec/19
What if he was never over 6’0 peak? Wouldn’t surprise me one bit
said on 27/Dec/19
@Rob: what time of the day did his physical take place is the real question.
I think you can safely rule out the idea of it being evening!

Rob, how about 6ft0⅝ peak?
That’d look good
It's possible, but currently his 11 5/8ths looks right, I can believe the doctor actually measured him, unlike Trump, who was given a blank form and filled in his height and weight.
Rampage(-_-_-)Clover said on 25/Dec/19
It’s the lowest I’d go for if not the full 6ft1. But yeah I do agree he is fit for 77 so maybe he hasn’t lost that much
said on 24/Dec/19
Rob, how about 6ft0¾?
Would be highest I'd go for him.
khaled taban said on 24/Dec/19
6'0.5" peak is suitable for Biden , Current is 5'11.5" I feel.
Mickie said on 24/Dec/19
I doubt he's quite as low as 15% body fat. No question his body composition is decent for his age, but for a nearly 80 year old guy, 15% be pretty ripped. Maybe low 20s.
Height wise - shrinking with age varries a lot. I've had 2 elder male relatives I'm thinking of one who made it to mid 60s with no height loss and the other who probably had lost a good inch and a half by that age. The one who lost no height kept fit and active, the one who lost height was an overweight smoker who did truck driving for a living.
Joe does look about this measurement - I can believe 6'0" - 6'0.5" range peak.
Paul NS (6ft 0.5) said on 21/Dec/19
Nice to see he got an official measurement. Definitely don't have a hard time believing it, he still looks pretty close to 6ft. He's held up pretty well heightwise, especially compared to guys like Bernie and Trump
viper said on 21/Dec/19
My 5-8 81 year old Uncle hasnt lost anything. Also he has maintained his same weight since his 20s.
Always has great posture too.
viper said on 21/Dec/19
Hasnt he always been listed at 6-0.
He's barely lost anything
said on 21/Dec/19
Rob, I'm curious, how did you determine his peak height?
Well check out Biden with Senator Danworth
. If you read this Washington Post article Click Here
, he was being described 6ft 3 and a half, a very specific figure.

Rob, is 6ft1 peak possible?
I'm not so sure about a full 6ft 1 for him.
DarkPower729 said on 20/Dec/19
Definitely a weak 6ft now. Probably a strong 6ft when he was younger. 5’11.625” now, 6’0.125” peak.
said on 20/Dec/19
Rob how tall would you guess Poroshenko to be his 6’0 listing on google?
He looks at least 6ft range
Rampage(-_-_-)Clover said on 20/Dec/19
I think 184-185cm zone peak is possible
said on 20/Dec/19
Rob, is it realistic for a man Biden's age (77) to have lost less than an inch? Are there men out there who never lose any height at all?
You'd expect an inch or 1.5 by that time, however he might have lost less than average.
viper said on 20/Dec/19
Thought he still looked his 6-0 listing
Redwing said on 20/Dec/19
Wow, hes doing well for his age then; I can’t believe his bmi is what it is tho? He looks like he’s 15% body fat
Rampage(-_-_-)Clover said on 20/Dec/19
Interesting....would’ve thought still around 6ft. Peak I think he could’ve been near 6ft1
Miss Sandy Cowell said on 20/Dec/19
Joe has a nice, friendly face and it is for that reason alone that I was attracted onto his page!
Another fair-haired politician - they're EVERYWHERE, and on both sides of the Atlantic!
Joe gets 5ft11.5/8ths for today's height and 6ft0.5 for his peak. 😄👱🎅
