I had been to Madame Tussauds, and his wax figure looked around 5'6, though i didn't directly stand next to this one, it looked quite small.
And according to Madame Tussauds, they prepare meetings with celebrities and accurately measure them to make a realistic duplicate of the actual celebrity. I will give him the benefit of the doubt, since i haven't stood right close to the figure.

I can believe he would measure as 175cm, but I can't believe that Bloom has 4cm on him. Because 4cm is almost 2 inches, and that difference can't be almost unnoticeable. With that being said, I think that there is only a slight difference between them, Bloom can be about 1 inch taller, but no more that that.

I have a hard time believing this man's over 5ft 6,
Glenn had taken a photo with him and they looked the same height (and Glenn's a proven 5ft 6.5), BUT...Glenn had his head and neck way slumped over, while Depp stood up straight, plus Depp was closer to the camera. Unless Glenn was actually 5ft 9.5.....just look on Glenn's Instagram page and the latest Glenn/Depp photo shows this.

I put insoles (like Dr. Sholes, etc.) in my sneakers and then found that the simple combination of shoes plus insoles added 1.5 inches to my height. I bet it's easy to add even more without it being too noticeable.

Editor Rob when you think about it, there are many elevator shoe companies and hundreds of retailers selling shoe lifts. A certain percentage of the population, including actors, will be wearing them.
personally I've only really seen a few up close who I would say with certainty wore elevator shoes. Putting a half inch lift in a boot or shoe can be really impossible to notice for most people...

Depp's peak height was 5'9.25 but at 52 is now closer to 5'8.75. Weight throughout most of the 90s (Eward Schissorhands, Benny & Joon, Donnie Brasco, etc) was in the 150 lbs zone and in the 2000s was typically still only 160 lbs (Pirates, Willy Wonka, Sweeney Todd, etc). He does looks heavy again lately but not quite what he was filming "The Tourist." He might weigh 180 or so. He knows how to lose weight quickly so I wouldn't worry. His cruising weight is around 160-165 lbs because he doesn't lift much weight so he can't afford to be much heavier than that or else he'll just gain fat pounds, which is not good. But ti would be great if Depp hit the gym and took it seriously. See if he can come close to Pitt in Troy.

Yet another shortish leading man who "candidly" admits that he is five foot eleven, just to show you what a modest, forthright guy he is. This is always suspicious, especially when the interviewer hasn't actually asked how tall the man is. It always seems like a nervous proactive dismissal of a painful subject, and is even more pathetic since it is so easy to see its falsity. The man is right there, after all.

Editor Rob some might be put at the nearest full inch because generally they look near enough that...but of course if measured you'd probably find a proportion dipped under that.

I think his "footwear" choices are more about his offbeat style. He likes boho looks (ie boots) or counter culture looks (ie creepers). Johnny is wearing about a 3" platform shoe. The hat also adds height. Plus even though Amber is in heels, in some of the pictures, you can tell that she is bending at the knees to look shorter than Johnny. (Bending at the knee with heels on, by personal experience.

She said Johnny was in boots with a heel that was about 2 inches high and he was still a little shorter than her. She said she was surprised because she expected him to be taller than her due to all the 5"11 and 5"10 claims. She said he is probably truly no taller than 5"7.

Johnny Depp looks exactly my height. He's probably near or at 5'10" as soon as he gets out of bed but after being up on his feet for 5 or 6 hours shrinks to 5'9" or 5'9 1/4" barefoot. He's definitely 5'10 or higher with shoes that give an inch or more of height. He's an average size guy for U.S. standards.

He also has the kind of "small ankles, small forearms" genes, that always makes you look taller than you are. Easily looks ripped when training, hard to add fat to his body. I have a friend who has the same exact build Johnny had when he was younger, and I presume they're the same height too. Said friend is 175-176 but when he drops his posture he seems 171-172 range. I'd say Depp does the same thing. 5'9 is a good guess.

If people are wearing the same shoe-wear and they are at the same level to a reflective surface you can actually gauge how tall the other person is - if you are not lying to yourself about your own height to begin with. When I was younger I made a mistake. I thought that because this other guy was younger that he was 2 inches shorter than me. It turned out that he was two inches taller. From that time onward I make the necessary corrections when guessing other people’s height and am reasonably accurate about their heights. If they are at a distance, don't bother, because you're not going to be close to guessing their height correctly. If someone tells me that they saw Jonny Depp close up and were able to see the two of them on a reflective surface I'd be more convinced they got Depp's height right.
If people are wearing the same shoe-wear and they are at the same level to a reflective surface you can actually gauge how tall the other person is - if you are not lying to yourself about your own height to begin with. When I was younger I made a mistake. I thought that because this other guy was younger that he was 2 inches shorter than me. It turned out that he was two inches taller. From that time onward I make the necessary corrections when guessing other people’s height and am reasonably accurate about their heights. If they are at a distance, don't bother, because you're not going to be close to guessing their height correctly. If someone tells me that they saw Jonny Depp close up and were able to see the two of them on a reflective surface I'd be more convinced they got Depp's height right.

I met Johnny Depp years ago while he was filming Benny and Joon (probably 1992 or so). I doubt very seriously as a grown man he has gotten much taller since then. He is very short. I am 6' tall and he was way shorter than I am. I would guess the 5'7" referenced in the blurb above is accurate.

However, irrespctive of his height, he's an incredibly attractive man, really really handsome (even more so in person), nice and friendly to everyone around. A true movie star and one of the greatest sex symbols (deservingly so, imo)
