Richard Brooker had the perfect size for Jason, 6ft3 and I'd guess 200-215lbs. I always thought Jason and Michael Myers are best when they are on the lean side. Leatherface is the exception, you expect him to be built like a house.

What do you guys think about the rumor of Bryniarski playing Jason in the new Friday film?

Danimal, you're a big guy and you have the size and mass but just the height would be off for Jason. Even myself at easily 6'0 I think I am a bit too short for the Jason character. I have the size as well.

For the last 9 Halloweens I dress up as Jason, its fun. But right now at 6'0 200lbs I'm big but I think for Jason its better to be at least 6'2 barefoot and 220lbs.

For those that don't know, a new Friday film is in the works. It was originally intended to be a remake of the original, with Jason in it this time and not his Mom, but instead they are setting it between part 2 and 4. Marcus Nispel, the director of The Texas Chaisaw Massacre (2003) remake is taking the helm, and they promised a new lean mean Jason. The rumor for a while was Andrew Bryniarski Leatherface from the TCM remake would be Jason, but unless he loses some serious weight he doesn't exactly scream lean, mean yes! I wonder who could be the new Jason?

Ed, CJ is closer to the camera making him look taller than Kane than he really is but he probably is a bit taller than Kane in general. Kane I am thinking is just a flat 6'2 but I doubt any lower than that.

Ed, thats what Kane looked to me then. I haven't seen him in a while. Maybe he lost weight or something but def looked a good 240-250lbs when he was Jason. Whether or not he was 6'2-6'3 or in between he still looked around 250lbs.

Danimal if he's 6ft3, then so be it! It's not that I want him to be less, I've just always been suspicious of the monstrous footwear for such an obviously large man. I don't get it? Your between 6ft1.5 and 6ft3 barefoot, big as a house, and yet you wear huge heeled shoes. Not to mention his height is up and down all the time. He looked the same height as The Rock(6ft2.5), but I'd be willing to bet he was wearing his 2 inch boots and the Rock was wearing normal footwear or even sandals based on the clothes he was wearing in the pic.

Ed, Lou has gone through all kinds of stages of development over the years.
Kane saying he is 6'5" is obviously with his shoes on. His BOOTS I should say.
He did look 6'3" while walking on the beach with his wife. He was a tall man. Again, he could be 6'2" and change and just rounded it up to 6'3". Either way, 6'2"-6'3", he is still a large man.

Danimal, I agree it's hard to make out. At first it does sound like 250, but then I realized as well it's 215. Still 215 sounds way too light for him! I'm curious when he switched from saying 6ft3 215lbs, to 6ft5 255 lbs in the quote above under his bio. That's a bit of a jump, lol!

Ed, at first I heard 6'3" 250 pounds and then I relistened and he said 215 pounds. He looked a good 30-40 pounds more than that, but obviously not. The interviewer clearly got those stats from the horses own mouth. Now we know that he was NEVER taller than 6'3" and is probably only around 6'2" today.

Btw I'm a major sloucher next to shorter guys, as if I'm guilty for being taller than them. Next to 6'3" and taller guys I'm nearly walking on my tiptoes lol. I thought Nike Shox were good too, till I got my boots (similar to military ones), give a solid 4cm and they look alright, not too comfortable for the summer, but works very well for the winter.

Viper, at 6'3 standing straight you'll def appear even a bit taller. I have a friend who is about 6'5 1/2 and if he stands straight he is pretty tall but sometimes can appear more 6'4 or so with bad posture. In Nike Shox type sneakers he looks his tallest, thats why he told me he likes to wear very thin heeled sneakers.

I remember at my 10 year High School reunion in the Fall of 2005, I took a picture with tons of people and I was shocked to see how I matched up in height to guys who had a good half a foot on me in height school. I took a pic with 6'8" Greg and I was hoping to see a good 10-10.5" difference in height between the 2 of us, but he had bent his knees and leaned down and was barely taller than me in the pic. It depends if the guy wants to make you feel like his equal, or YUP, make you feel short (inferior). It can go either way I suppose.

Alex, I agree it just depends on the person. I also stand up straight, as much as I possibly can. Some taller guys slouch because of self esteem issues, or because they just want to fit in the frame in a photo op. If the person they're taking a photo with is considerably shorter, they might hunch over out of deference for the shorter person. But, some people would stand up straight regardless, and not care in the least if they made the other guy look like a hobbit.

LOck n LOad, I mentioned once before the same thing regarding the closer you are to one's height the better judge you are. This site would be lacking severely without the eyewitness accounts and pics of Rob and Glenn, but it wouldn't be a bad thing to have a 6ft autograph dealer like Glenn to provide some reference as well. Both are go to eyewitnesses are 5ft8, so a taller one would be interesting to have give accounts of in person meetings, and as a gauge to measure height against.
As for my judgement I'm as reliable as most I guess, I'm pretty positive I screw up from time to time.
Alex, maybe Kane was taller in his youth and has lost a few over the years. I just know I saw him a lot shorter than the 6ft5 listing he originally had and claimed. He looked 6ft3ish to me in his boots, and that's all I know.

Ed, don't worry mate I'm no less Obsessed With Height than you are. What would be a better (minimum requirement) height without being ridiculously good for making it to the pros, 6'3" - 6'4" ?

I tend to believe your testimony, I don't think you'd make it up. The question is now can we trust your height judgement? I would say yes, usually people Obsessed With Height can guess quite accurately people's height in person unlike the average person who always tell me I'm 6'3" when I'm an inch shorter.

Maybe Hodder was 6'3" peak, I don't see him over 6'2" right now. I still wonder how come Glenn saw him at 6'3", Rob at 6'2.5" and you saw him at 6'3.5" with his boots. I think the closer you are to the person's height (assuming you know your true height), the easier it is to judge.

LOck n LOad I think your referring to me. The obsession over height was a reference to me being a kid and playing basketball, and I desperately wanted to be taller. However,when I stopped growing I ended up at 5ft11.75 out of bed and that was not gonna take me too the pros(unless I was ridiculously good!).

As for Hodder, I grew up watching the Friday movies and thought Hodder was massively tall in those days. By the time Part 9 came out, and I saw the scene where he's out of his Jason costume and playing a SWAT officer, I was shocked to see how much shorter he looked. When I saw him at a convention a few years ago, I was wearing skecher type shoes if I remember correctly, which would put me at anywhere between 6ft0.5-6ft0.75 maybe. Hodder seemed to be only 6ft3plus while wearing his boots. I didn't see him walking around a lot, it was for a split second as I approached the table and he sat down. As I stood at the table, and after I walked away I kept checking out the boots and was blown away by their size. I looked up pics of him online and at the Friday the 13th website forum, and saw a lot of comments by people who had met and felt his boots were what contributed to his intimidating stature. They are really thick soles, but not heels. I don't know though anymore about his height, it's impossible to tell accurately with those boots. Maybe he's 6ft2, possibly shorter perhaps.

Alright Rob & Glenn, thanks for your perspectives, points well taken into consideration for both pictures. I admit it's hard to gauge over 1/2" difference when he doesn't have a full-on posture and you're not certainly sure how much exactley his footwear advantage over you is. I'll keep in mind he could be 6'2-1/2" or towards 6'3", although as for the moment with Rob's latest pic I got a good hunch that he's a flat 6'2".
Btw I could swear there was on the bottom of the page a few days ago a post with a guy claiming to be very Obsessed With Height and good on judging people's height and when met Hodder, he estiamted him at 6'3.5" with his large boots on and estimated him at 6'1-1/2" to 6'1-3/4" barefoot. I wanted to talk to that guy but I can't find it, perhaps it got lost due to newer posts overwriting the older ones or something like that?

Also Kane Hodder is in his 50's and could have shrunk an inch easily. He may have been 6'3 at his tallest and now today only 6'2 but I don't buy him under 6'2 though even though with Rob he does look even shorter.

Rob, thanks for the great picture with the explanation, it says it all. I'm almost certain now he's nothing over 6'2". As long as you're not on your tiptoes and he's not bending his knees he looks 6'2" max and this after taking into account he's not standing full as possible. You guys might think I'm delusional lol, but as 6'2" guy, growing up with a 5'8" mother I know very well how I match up against 5'8" with all the family photos.

I also met Briana Banks at a strip club in early 2004 but it was jammed packed so me and my friend got a picture with her, said a few words and had to leave since the line was that big. With Jenna Haze it wasn't packed at all, around 10-12 people there and I was there talking to her for at least 10 minutes before I left. Really nice girl. $20 a picture isn't always worth it, depends who you meet and how they act and stuff. Almost all the pictures I got with wrestlers were worth it other than with Batista and Melina. I got a few with Jenna Haze if you know who she is and I'll tell you they were worth the money for sure!

Alex, I don't know how big exactly the boots are, and I agree with Rob that the "lifts" explanation doesn't apply to every celeb with a questionable height. But, with Hodder these boots are no joke. The sole does look to be close to 2 inches, and maybe there's a bit of an insole. I could see him getting 2.25-2.5in maybe in boost. If he's 6ft2, this would put him at 6ft4 comfortably. If he ever comes to another one of those conventions near me, I'll try to get a pic with him, but I'm not crazy about spending $20. That's the crappy thing about conventions, the ridiculous money being charged for autographs and pics. The only one time I ever did it was my first time to a convention, and it was Peter Mayhew(Chewbacca) and he wouldn't even stand up from behind the table to take a pic with me. After I dropped $20 on a stupid autograph, I had to lean across the table for a crappy photo!

Viper if that's the case on August 26, 2006 you said you saw the boots, thought they were huge and that he was most likely 6ft1.5. You also said you saw the Rock as 6ft2. On Sept 7, 2006 you thought Kane was 6ft1. I'm not trying to call you out, more so just trying to figure out where you stand on Hodder's height. He can't be 6ft1 barefoot and 6ft5 in boots. The boots are big, but not that big. I honestly see him at near 6ft2 barefoot and around 6ft4 with the boots.
I personally see The Rock at near 6ft3 barefoot. Maybe 6ft2.5, and 6ft3.5-6ft4 with shoes/boots. Considering that, this would make sense with Hodder looking around 6ft4 w/boots, and about 6ft2 w/out. Hodder is the only other guy I've seen with boots that rival Vin Diesel. Well maybe Tom Cruise, lol!

All I know is when I saw him he wore the boots, when Glenn saw him he wore the boots, in every photo from a convention I've seen online he has the boots on, and from fans from the Official Friday the 13th Website his boots have been brought up and discussed before, so there's a good chance he had them on w/The Rock. I read comments on there from numerous fan encounters who remarked about the boots and his height. Some even went so far to spectulate he's only 6ft w/out them. I won't go so low as that number, but I could seriously see 6ft1.5-6ft2 barefoot. I think the boots have a good 2plus inch increase. There built up soles like moon boots not heels like cowboy boots. The height increase is distributed across the whole sole of the boot.
As for door frames in boats, I'm pretty sure they are considerably smaller than the average U.S. 6ft8 door frame.
My question still is why would you drop a guy that is near 6ft4 w/boots(albeit height enhancing boots) for a movie and say he's not tall enough! I know Ronny Yu the director for FVJ wanted a super tall guy like 6ft8, but calling near 6ft4 small is kinda funny!

Viper, remember the scene in Jason takes Manhattan in the ship where the Asian girl Kelly Hu finds her friend dead then she runs into the hallway and Jason is standing there and is head looks to appear almost scraping the ceiling. Kane was a good 6'5 in boots I think. Now it depends on how big his boots were. He would have need 4+ inch boots to only be 6'1, thats why I think he's at least 6'2 barefoot. Its possibly he was 6'3 and had 2 inches of height added to his boots, or 6'2 with 3 inches added.

Well the guy who played him in part 2 was 5'11 I believe. Part 3 was 6'3, part 4 was 6'4, part 6 was 6'3. Then Kane played him in parts 7,8,9, and 10 and Kane's height is debatable from 6'2-6'3 but I lean more toward 6'3 though. Then in Freddy vs Jason he was played by 6'5.5 Ken who was over 6'7 in his boots.

My opinion for an actor in a movie to play Jason he needs to be 6'2 bare minimum. 6'5 at the tallest plus boots. The ideal Jason I say would be 6'4 barefoot and with big boots he's 6'6. With him weighing at least 225-230lbs.

These are the stats based on the character not really the actor since the actors have changed for these men. Myers was played by Wilbur who is 6'2 240lbs or something.

Jason X wasn't bad but I didn't think it was very good either. Pretty decent I'll give it since I'm a fan of the series. Jason Takes Manhattan I liked though. You wanna talk bad, watch part 5 with that imposter. I hate that part. Jason was more scarier in parts 2,3 and 4 when he was more human but was still good in 6-9 as the more bigger, badder zombie like Jason too. I didn't like the cyber Jason really. I thought Jason looked good in Jason X before he turned into his robotic form.

I'm a big fan of the Friday the 13th series. I like all the Jason's but the one from part 2 would be my least favorite. Now thats counting the real Jasons because the one from part 5, that imposter sucked and I hated that film a lot. Jason in 3 and 4 was good, but then the slower one is parts 6 and up were good too. I like both, but he was more human but very strong too in the earlier parts until part 6 where he became a super strong zombie. Jason got stronger as the parts went on unlike Myers who was always very strong but maintained his strenght I believe.

There's a clip on youtube that's pretty funny of Kane/Jason on the Arsenio Hall show years ago. It's the first time I could really get a good look at the boots he wore for Jason in a brightly lit setting. They have a good 2 inch heel like cowboy boots, but are designed more like construction boots. The heel is very pronounced, kind of like the boots you would see in the old Darth Vader costume. He looked to have about 4 inches on the 5ft11 Hall.

I like both types for Jason. The only Jason I didnt really like was from Part 2 with the overalls and the sack on his head. Jason 10 should have never been made though. Jason in space? Crazy. Makes Jason Takes Manhattan seem pretty normal. I really liked that sequel actually.

I agree Viper, did you see See No Evil w/Kane? He's got the right physicality to play Jason, and even though he didn't talk much in the film(Thank God Jason doesn't talk,lol)he did a fairly good job, and was def. intimidating. On another note, you like slow moving zombies, that's cool, but what about Jason. Do you like the slow Kane/Ken style Jason, who lumbers along, or the faster more frenzied Jason ala Brooker or Ted White. I prefer faster, just seems more realistic and creepy.

Alex, the reason I'd like to see a 6ft8 Jason is because IMO Jason should'nt look comparable to anybody else, he should stand out. In several of the movies he was matched pretty evenly or has someone taller than him,ie. Kirzinger in Part 8. When Jason isn't the biggest guy anymore he's less intimidating. With Myers, he's supposed to be average, or a little taller than most, but able to blend in and hide. Jason is kind of like Jaws, huge and unstoppable, where Myers is all about subtlety. For that reason I'm surprised Zombie picked somebody so huge to play Myers, anything subtle kind of goes out the window when your killer is 6ft8 and ripped like a bodybuilder. I wonder if Zombie is gonna have shots of Myers in the Smith's Grove Sanitarium juicing up and doing bench presses and squats, LOL. I see what your saying about Ken, my complaint though for him wasn't the height but his Frankenstein movements, for once I'd like to see these movie killers move fast like what Boyle did w/28 Days Later. Zombies sprinting are far more terrifying, than the boring, staggering, moaning kind. Maybe Zombie will have Myers move a little faster this time, especially since he's been reading Muscle and Fitness during his years locked up.

I think a 6'8 Jason is kinda dumb. Thats too tall. I think 6'3-6'4 then plus boots it the ideal Jason IMO. Ken was on the edge of being too tall and was actually a bit too tall though. But if Mane is 6'8, 6'9 or 6'10 its still the tallest main horror characters though.

I wouldn't be bad to play Myers, I'm 6'0.5 and 200lbs, a little too light for Jason though even though I got good size.

S.J, Mane has been downgraded here from 6ft10 to 6ft8, regardless he's still the tallest lead actor to play one of the main horror movie icons. After Mane at 6ft8 would come Kirzinger at 6ft5.5 and Tony Todd at 6ft5. As for the actual heights of the characters, I believe Jason and Leatherface are neck and neck for tallest Horror characters. Myers is described in the books as tall and lean around 6ft-6ft1. Jason and Leatherface are more hulking and menacing at 6ft3-6ft5. On the fangoria website they have the first pics of Mane as Myers, and though he looks tall, he doesn't look massive like I thought, granted when he's standing next to the 5ft Danielle Harris I'm sure all that will change. The pic is pretty creepy though, it's given me a lot more faith in Zombie's vision. I agree Viper I'd like to see a 6ft8 Jason, I'd vote for the Friday remake that's in the works to have either Kane(not Hodder, but See No Evil)play Jason, or Bryniarski even though he's 6ft5, he was awesome as Leatherface, and would make a great Jason. Apparently, since Platinum Dunes, who made the TCM movies is behind the new Friday flick, Bryniarski is a frontrunner, especially since TCM:the Beginning's director Liebsman is directing it. Alex, I'm pretty sure I read in Fangoria, that Ken stated he was about 6ft7 or more w/ the huge boots he wore.

Alex, all the other Jason's do look a lot leaner next to Kane's Jason. Especially from Part7-10, in which Jason got progressively stockier. CJ, interestingly enough was pretty built too, but for some reason doesn't come across like Kane, and Ken is a big dude too, but he doesn't seem to have that powerlifter build like Hodder either. It's funny how Jason went from a 5ft11 guy in a burlap sack mask, to a near 6ft7 behemoth in a hockey mask. Hodder just brought so much more physical prescence to the role than any other Jason before him, it's kind of the same thing as Bryniarski as Leatherface.

Still Brooker and White came across taller I'm sure due to their skinnier builds. As regards to Kane I still don't think he's a full 6ft3 due to his boots. Maybe Glenn, you can let me know what the boots looked like that you saw, compared to the one's I described that I saw in person and have always seen him in pics. In the pic above w/Glenn Kane looks like if he stood straight he'd be about 6 inches taller, putting him at around 6ft2 barefoot. But if you take into account his boots, which Glenn said didn't have heels, and that tracks w/ what I'm saying because the ones I saw were just really thick soles, then Kane could be getting close to 2 inches from them.

Ed, in Part 6 CJ looked pretty tall if you ask me. Remember the scene with the sheriff toward the end, he just towered over Garris. Before I read he was 6'3 I thought he was like 6'5. Warrington Gillete 6'1 tops, likely only 6'0. Steve Dash didn't look anymore than 5'11 to me in that movie.

Alex, the Jason's in Part 2 were the shortest, from what I remember they were 6ft tops. It's funny I didn't think CJ looked that big in Part 6, more like 6f1ish, it wasn't until I saw pics of him later did I realize how tall he is. I remember when I first saw Part 7 I thought Kane was like 6ft6 or more, he looked huge in that movie, but it wasn't until Part9 when I saw him as the Swat officer in relation to Richard Gant, that I was shocked to see the difference. If you watch those films again you'll see they use a lot of distorted camera angles looking upwards from a lower vantage point. It definitley adds to the height of Kane's Jason. In pretty much Part 7-Part 10, they do alot of this with scenes where Jason will be standing behind a soon to be victim, and they pan up at him, making him loom even larger over his target. I don't know when you last saw Part 9, but if you get a chance check it out, I'm interested to see if you think he looks significantly shorter as a Swat officer than as Jason.

Ed, in Part 2 those 2 guys were def the shortest Jason characters. I could see Gillette at 6'1 but its possible he's only 6'0 but I doubt any lower than that. It wasn't until part 3 where you had the taller guys like Brooker who was 6'3 then Ted White who was 6'4 then CJ at 6'3 and Kane who's height is debatable from 6'1.5-6'3 then you had the tallest with Ken at 6'5, possible 6'5.5 as he listed at that in some places as well.

Actually Warrington only played Jason in part 2 in the last scene where he comes through the window. The other guy was Steve Dash who's height I'm unsure of. He looked 5'11-6'0 at least which is really the absolute bare minimum height Jason should be.

Glenn, Tyler Mane was Sabretooth in X-Men, he was also in Troy and The Devil's Rejects. IMO, I've always thought Myers should be 6ft2 no more, tall enough to be bigger than most and intimidating without being monster size like Jason or Leatherface. Myer's is all about being cunning and hiding in the shadows. How do you hide a 6ft10 guy? We'll have to wait and see what Zombie's vision is, anything can't be worse than part 8 with kung fu Busta Rhymes, what a bunch of crap that movie was! Alex, George Wilbur, Don Shanks, Chris Durand, and Brad Loree all played Myers and are all about 6ft2, some maybe a bit more than others. Apparently Richard Brooker played Myers in a couple scenes in Part 4, so the tallest Myers would be him I guess at 6ft3. Alex, if Ken is 6ft5.5, and was probably w/shoes about 6ft6.5 to 6ft7, than Kane had to have been about 6ft3.5 to 6ft4 in his Jason boots.If Ken is only 6ft5, and 6ft6 w/shoes, than Kane would have been only 6ft3 in his boots, if there was only 2 inches between them, then 6ft4.

Tyler Mane as Myers I didn't hear about, if so its dumb if you ask me. 6'10 is way too tall for Myers. The Myers character is billed at 6'0-6'1 so really the actor should be 6'0-6'2. I believe someone 6'4 played Myers in 1 or 2 films.

Glenn,it would be interesting if you ever meet CJ Graham or Ken Kirzinger to let us know what the comparison to Kane would be. I've seen pics of Kane and CJ together but they were a little skewed. CJ's listed at 6ft3, and IMO looks taller than Kane,but you've seen so many of these guys you'd be the better judge. As for Kirzinger the guy absolutely towers over people in FVJ like no other Jason before. He looked to be a solid 3 or more inches taller than Kane and that was in regular shoes in Part 8, not the Frankenstein boots he wore in FVJ. Good pic Glenn, when I saw Kane, Ferrigno was there too, and to me Ferrigno was taller than Hodder, and I would only have put Ferrigno at 6ft4 tops w, his cross-trainers on, so just about 6ft3 for him barefoot. I saw Kane at about 6ft3ish like you say, but w/ his boots. Now, the boots I saw had huge thick soles on them without defined heels,kind of like logger boots but flat on the bottom, and upon further inspection they are the ones I see on his feet in pretty much every pic I've ever seen of him. Maybe the guy is pushing 6ft2, but that's still all I remember, if I ever see an add for him at a convention I'll check it out again. One last note, when I saw him he was just about to sit down behind his table, and I caught him before he did for a second standing up. I was expecting 6ft5 or more, since that was what he was listed at and claimed in interviews, nad looked in all the Friday films. I could be wrong and he was 6ft4 in his boots and not standing up perfectly straight, but I don't recall it that way. Regardless of his exact height, Hodder is still a big intimidating looking guy.

Kane Hodder and The Rock looked about the same height in a few pictures posted. I guess Kane wasn't in his big boots at that time. Playing Jason he looks 6'5 in boots, his head comes is almost up to doorways in the movies but also back then the doorways may be shorter, it depends. If kane is 6'2 then he'd need 3.5 inch heels to hit 6'5. His boots I bet give him 2-2.5 inches to his barefoot height, or maybe a bit more.

Alex, I've seen pics of CJ Graham and Kane Hodder together, and there's not much of a difference in size between the two heightwise. CJ didn't look as big muscular wise as Kane in the movies at all, but in this pic of them together CJ's actually a pretty big guy, in fact more proportioned than Kane. I'd peg him at 6ft4 or 6ft5 for Part 6, he looked tall and he was not as burly as Kane then making him look taller. He was a pretty good Jason too,and I agree part 5 sucked!

Viper, Leatherface played by both Bryniarski and Hansen were easily each 250 and I'd guess 275lbs respectively, plus both stated they had additional weight with the costume, the fat suit(not really necessary for Hansen though he was already pretty portly and not muscular like Bryniarski,and thick clunky lift boots. If Bryniarski is 6ft4 or 6ft5, to be his size muscularly he'd have to weight at least 250 lbs. Add the fat suit and costume(heavy butchers apron,clothing, and heavy boots), and I bet he'd be pretty close to 300 lbs. Part 8 is pretty awful, with the best part though being Jason boxing on the roof with the guy whose head he eventually punches off, ridiculous as hell but still hilarious,lol!! Yeah Jason X is horrible, really horrible. Part 9 was decent at parts, but I didn't like the whole supernatural twist. I'll take Part 3 or 4 over all of them, any day.

Alex, I know the heights aren't for the actors themselves, that's why I said it was a generalization just for fun, but these wanted posters that were made up for entertainment purposes maybe about 5 or 10 years ago were directly influenced by all the movies and the average size of all the actors who played these characters. Sam, Bryniarski does claim 6ft5, and at times he does look pretty close to it ex. The Program and The Texas Chainsaw flicks, but other times he can look smaller like around 6ft3. It would be interesting if someone could find a pic of Kane Hodder, Andrew Bryniarski, Gunnar Hansen, and maybe George Wilbur together to see the various heights of these guys. Of course we still wouldn't know for sure ,based on what would be on their feet.

The original Leatherface was Gunnar Hansen, a 6'4" guy, who like Ed said wore lifts. Bryniarski claims to be 6'5"...don't know about the other Leatherfaces. 6'3" is probably the standard height for Jason because of Hodder, but I consider Hansen the real Leatherface and he's 6'4".

Yeah LB894, White was good too, I couldn't remember his name earlier. Between him and Brooker, I'd say it's a pretty close tie for the best Jason. Hopefully they'll get someone like those two for the new flick. Alex, I've seen those listings before, and they are defintiely generalized, but that's cool they are just for fun. Michael Myers(Nick Castle in the first Halloween)was by no means 200 lbs, and maybe he was 6ft, but he didn't look much taller than Jamie Lee Curtis. I always thought Michael Myers didn't look tall, until part4 with the 6ft2 George Wilbur, up until then Myers was kind of shorter and skinnier. From there on out they used taller stunt actors, and Myers got bulkier(ex. Don Shanks part 5). As far as Leatherface, I think that one is the most accurate in terms of a general estimate. All the Leatherfaces including Bryniarski have been 6ft3-6ft4, and they were big guys made bigger with lifts and a fat suit.

I think CJ Graham did a good job as him. The guy was 6'3 barefoot and between 6'4 and 6'5 in boots but he looked as tall as 6'6 in some parts of the movie.

Ed, as the Friday movies went Jason became more powerful in every subsequent sequel. He just became superhuman. So its not to farfetched that he grew from 6-0-6-8.

Warrington Gillete was his name who played Jason in part 2, but I heard there were 2 actors who played him in that movie. One was him the whole movie and the other did just the window scene at the end. But the one who played him in the whole movie looked 6'0ish so close to 6'2 in boots.

Alex, I think the first guy to play him in part2 was about 6ft(maybe 6ft1 plus with boots),in part3 I think Richard Booker played him, and he was I believe 6ft3(6ft4 plus with boots), one of the best Jasons IMHO. This continued until part 5 and I think the fake Jason in the movie(the ambulance driver) was more like 6ft2(in boots). Part 6 was the 6ft3(6ft4 plus with boots) CJ Graham, and than it was Kane from there at about 6ft4plus(with boots), until Ken who was at least 6ft7.5 in his boots, maybe 6ft8. I agree that a 6ft3 guy is the best height for Jason, he just becomes too over the top and cartoonish if he's as big as an N.B.A. power forward. I hope if they do remake Friday the 13th they get a guy that's tall, but not too tall.

Ed, its just if you're 6'5-6'5.5 in your barefeet you really don't need more than 1 inch shoes to wear to play Jason. I think its better for a guy 6'3-6'4 to play Jason and wind up at 6'5 in footwear. Ken was an ok height but they made him wear too much heels. A 1 inch heel or 1.5 inch heel max would be better. 6'0-6'8? not sure about that unless you're counting all footwear. But the the guy who played him in part 2 was 6'0-6'1 then the rest were taller than that. How tall did he look to you in those boots? 6'8 I think. Or 6'7.5.

Alex, yeah I did, and it was pretty hilarious! Between that and the official posters of the two of them standing back to back, I think Ken was made a little too tall for the role. It's funny how Jason went from around 6ft to 6ft8 over the span of all 11 movies. At this continual rate if they don't start the franchise over with a remake soon, they'll be calling Shaq to play him next.

Alex is right Kirzinger is 6ft5 maybe a bit more. He was almost too tall as Jason in Freddy vs. Jason. It was like one of the Lakers playing Jason, when he put on his 2-3 inch lifts.

LB894, I tried that once with putting 2.5 inch lifts inside a boot that gives 1.5 inches of height. It was uncomfortable to me. I did it for Halloween and I had to walk a good distance and when I took them off I felt so short too, LOL.

I myself have boots which have a 1.5 inch lift. For Halloween, I put 2 inch lifts inside them. I could easily walk around that way and it took almost no practice. Gunnar Hansen, who played Leatherface in the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre, wore cowboy-ish boots with something like 3 inch lifts to seem much bigger and he did all of his running in them. It is very possible Kane is wearing 2-3 inch lifts, in a pair of much better boots.

Also, on a side note if you have the Friday the 13th DVD set, on the special features disc the director of Part VII: A New Blood (John Buechler?) explains how, when he was casting for Jason, the producers originally didn't want Kane Hodder to play him becuase they thought he looked too small and short. Just something to consider, since none of the people who played Jason before Kane were 6'5 (Ted White was the biggest Jason before Ken Kirzinger, at 6'4).

Alex, I'm not trying to split hairs here but Kane is closer to the camera in the one good pic, and I personally don't see a 1 inch difference, I think they are the same. I agree walking around with 4-5inch heels is excessive. I think Kane is 6ft1.5 barefoot, with about 2.5 inches in boot lift. A good 2 inch in the heel, and a bit inside to make him 6ft4. If he's a bit above 6ft1.5 then he'd be 6ft4plus in his boots. Gant is listed at 6ft3, but could be a tad bit shorter.

If Gant is really 6'3 which I can buy, Kane is def taller in that picture by at least an inch. So if Gant is say 6'4-6'4.5 in standard shoes that puts Kane at 6'5ish in whatever boots he has on. For him to be just 6'1 he would really need 4.5-5 inch heels to be 6'5. I'm thinking he's 6'2-6'2.5 barefoot and has boots giving him 2.5-3 inches of height to make him look 6'5. Walking around in 4-5 inch heels would be very uncomfortable for him.

I agree LB894 I made a similar observation regarding Richard Gant and Kane is Jason Goes to Hell, a while ago. I remember when I saw that movie for the first time, and I found out Kane was the swat officer how blown away I was at how normal he looked. Gant looked bigger to me, and Kane did not look 6ft5 like I had read back in the early 90's.

Just my own perception, but Kane never appeared to me to be a 6'5 guy. If you go to Click Here then to 'Behind the Scenes', there is a selection of pictures from 'Jason Goes to Hell' (the cover is of a silver mask with a snake-like creature through one of the eyeholes). There are two pictures of Kane as Jason standing next to Richard Gant, who played the coroner. One picture is of the two of them, the other has them and the director. Kane looks about exactly the same height as Richard Gant. You can be sure he has the boots on, and there is also a good (though, unfortunately, very small) picture of Kane reclining on a wooden swing which shows the huge heels on the boots.

On a side note, the fact that Kane is almost always seen wearing these boots in public and in movies should warrant suspicion. Seriously, has anyone seen him wearing regular shoes? Any picture you find of him in a Friday the 13th movie or in public (especially at conventions) will show that he is always wearing these gigantic boots.

I think that Kane's image of being huge comes more from his massive frame and weight than his height. He has never struck me as being exceptionally tall; most of his intimidation factor comes from his physique in regards to his build and weight, and the fact that quite often in the Friday movies that the camera often shoots him from below, making him seem taller. It really is easier to imagine him being a 6'1 or 6'1.5, maybe 6'2.

I really don't see how he can be that tall. In 'Jason Takes Manhattan' Ken Kirzinger at the end clearly has at least two inches on Kane. If Kane was 6-3 and wearing boots that would put him at equal height with Ken. Please, just go to his website and see the convention pics and you will see what kind of boots he is wearing. Look at Jasonfan's info at the bottom of the page: it really is unlikely that Kane would have grown two inches after graduating high school. And check out that picture of him with Robert Englund. Both are leaning a bit but Kane can't be much more than 3-4 inches taller, which would place him just about 6-1 or 6-2 without those boots, which is what we have been trying to say.

Again, please look at his convention pictures on his website. I am not trying to say he isn't a massive guy: at 6-1 or 6-3 he's undeniably huge, regardless of a missing inch or two.

Thank you Viper652, finally someone has seen the boots. I too thought Kane was huge in movies, and I totally bought the 6ft5 listing until I saw him at this convention I went to. I did a couple turns by his table when he was talking to other fans, so I could really check out the boots, and those soles have got to be at least 2 plus inches. He does have longer legs, but they are pretty skinny in comparison to his upper body, which is way bigger in proportion.

I still think Hodder's 6ft1.5 maybe 6ft1.75 barefoot, with his huge boots near 6ft4, that's a tall enough height that people can mistake for being taller. None of us here have seen these people measured before our eyes so we are all guessing. The Rock looks pretty comparable in height to Kane in that pic, and many spectulate the Rock is only 6ft2. It would make sense if The Rock is 6ft2 with an inch plus extra for shoes putting him at 6ft3 plus, to look the same as Kane who's wearing his huge boots. I've asked before, but nobody seems to comment, have any of you guys looked at the pic on the Friday the 13th website forum of Kane's boots. The link is below, in one of my old comments. If you haven't seen them yet, it may answer some questions.

If you see on Freddy ve Jason dvd extras they have a press conference spoof and Ken has gotta be 10 inches taller than Robert but also Ken is wearing thick boots that gotta be 2 inches. The Rock and Kane look the same height just about really. If anything its 1/2 inch apart and Rock is 6'2.5. I see Kane at 6'3 flat. He was between 2-3 inches shorter than the 6'5.5 Ken who played Jason in Freddy vs Jason. He does look 6'5 in his boots though so 6'3 I can't see being wrong.

Ed - No: "I'm" 6'5" tall barefoot. :-) My son said that Hodder looked taller than him (my son), but NOT as tall as me. My son wears the same type of JC Penney walkers I do. They have probably a 1.25" heel. OK, so IN shoes, I'm 6'6" or a bit over and my son is 6'4.5" or a bit over. He said Hodder had on thicker soled shoes (than my son, that day) and that (IN those shoes) Hodder looked taller than him by about 1/2 inch. So, in those shoes, Hodder looked about 6'5". That would make him about 6'3" barefoot. It's confusing, I know.

My 6'3.5" son met him & Robert England in Austin at a Fangoria show about 2001. I finally thought to ask him how tall both men looked to him. He stated that England looks 5'9" in person & Kane looked between my son's height (6'3.5") and my height (6'5"). He noticed Hodder had on shoes with about 1" inch than the one's he (my son) had on. So, that comes out to be 6'3" barefoot, I think. He met George Romero too & said George is my height.

I checked out the offical Friday the 13th movies website, to see if there was any info on Kane's height. In the forums, under the Friday the 13th movie series, is a thread devoted to just Kane's height. On the 2nd page of this thread, is a pic of the infamous Hodder boots! You'll read that many are skeptical of his height, and some that have met him think he is between 6ft and 6ft2 barefoot. Then again some still think he is 6ft5 which he's clearly not. I still think the guy is only 6ft1 at best, and wears 2 plus inch thick soled monstrous Kiss boots, and it seems I'm not alone, but since I've never seen him standing barefoot, it still remains a mystery to me.

Alex, if you look at CJ Graham's website(Jsson Lives,or something like that), he has pics of himself at conventions, and one group shot with Kane in it. I agree I thought CJ Graham looked taller than 6ft3, and in this pic he looks taller than Kane by at least an inch. The picture has Warrington Gillete in it who looks 2 inches shorter than Kane. Your listing of Gillete at 6ft1 would fit perfectly than, with Kane at 6ft3(in Boots), and I think CJ at 6ft4ish. Check it out, and let me know what you think!

Yeah, that would be interesting! In recent pics of Ken, he looks pretty big, like he's been hiting the weights, or beer and pizza. I can understand Kane's reaction, I was disapointed at first as well to. But, it's not Ken's fault, and I think he did a decent job. Kane is still my favorite Jason, but Ken wasn't bad.

I have to strike the germaphobe comment, which was a dick thing to say, because I read he was burned bad in a stunt accident, and he works with little kids in burn centers in hospitals. Which is really cool!
Plus I googled his name and found a photo of him with the Rock, in which Kane looks taller by almost an inch. So now the Rock is shrinking too. Still, there are plenty of shots of his boots. They look like 2 inch thick soles, on close inspection.

Just to add when I met the guy, there were two things I immediately noticed. One, he's been burned bad, and he wears these gloves all the time. I don't know if they have to do with the burns, or maybe he's a germaphobe. Secondly, were the huge soled boots. I kid you all not, they are like platform shoes. You maybe don't want to belive it, but check out his site like I said, or look for other convention pics of him online, you'll see he's always wearing them and the gloves. He is a big dude, but his height is fabricated. I was disappointed because I was a huge Jason fan as a kid, and I can remember thinking, wow this guy is a monster, and then when I met him, it was a letdown.

Okay, so do you mean 6ft2.5 with boots, as in comparison to Ken. Or is this their height in barefeet, 6ft5.5 and 6ft2.5, making them respectably with normal footgear 6ft3.5 and 6ft6.5. Because, if you say Ken does look 6ft5.5, and at least 3 inches taller than Kane, then even with shoes on Ken would be 6ft6.5 or 6ft6 and Kane would be 6ft3 or 6ft3.5 with shoes, and we know he wears big boots, to add to the Jason persona. This all puts Kane back at 6ft1.5 in his barefeet, with at minimum 2 inch soled shoes, and what you know, he's 6ft3.5. On another note, did anyone check out "Jason Goes to Hell." The scene I mentioned is what made me originally skeptical of his 6ft5 listing. So when I met the guy in person, the truth was pretty clear. The boots are the culprit!

Three inch lifts are not uncommon in Hollywood. Look at Tom Cruise, who is listed at 5ft7 but he is always on an even level with many actors that are taller, in the 5ft10 range. If you are 6ft 1 in your bare feet, with boots you are now 6ft2 maybe 6ft2 1/2. It might be uncomfortable, but girls do it all the time. I think they get used to it. A lot of cowboy boots have at least a 2 inch heel, and they are definitely active, and not falling over. If Kane is 6ft 1 1/2 in his bare feet, with 2 inch boots he would be now 6ft3 1/2, about right for when I met him, give or take. Add an inch lift inside, presto, you are now 6ft4 1/2. Or maybe a lot of the actors in the films are small of stature, which would make a guy standing 6ft3 1/2 in boots, a lot more menacing.

Just wnated to add one more piece to the puzzle. If you have seen," Jason goes to Hell," the guy that plays the coroner Richard Gant, he eats Jason's heart and turns into him. Well, in the scene in the beginning when he kills his assistant and leaves the hospital to start his rampage, two swat officers try to stop him. One of them is Kane, in a cameo not as Jason. Well, Richard Gant is listed at 6ft3, and he looks way bigger than Kane in this scene, way bigger. The guy is appearing to where a pair of standard dress shoes, so now he is 6ft4 or a little more, and Kane looks tiny in comparison. I don't know maybe Kane was issued different footwear by the wardrobe department, and his true height is showing. I always found that odd? Here is this guy I envisioned to be 6ft5 or bigger, shrunk down quite a bit. Watch the movie, and see for yourself.

All I know is I met the guy, and with his monstrous boots he is about 6ft3 1/2. Take away his "Kiss footgear," and the guy is 6ft1 maybe 6ft1 1/2 in his bare feet! You can think what you would like, but I've seen the guy up close, shook his hand, stood face to face with him, and I have always been finicky about height! Being rather obseesive about my own height at one time, I know I'm about 6ft in shoes maybe 6ft 1/4, and this guy was about 3 inches taller. I'm telling you check out his site, look at the pics of him at conventions. There is one of him sitting next to Robert Englund on a couch, and you get a great look at his Marilyn Manson boots!

If you watch, Friday the 13th: Part 8, Jason takes Manhattan, there is a scene towards the end where he follows the kids into a diner. A huge cook comes out from behind the counter to stop him, and Jason throws him across the room. Well that guy is none other than Ken Kirzinger, Jason from Freddy vs. Jason, listed at 6ft5, in his Canadian stuntman profile. Well, he dwarfs old Kane, by easily 3 plus inches. You can just see the huge height difference.So if Ken was wearing typical 1 inch soled shoes, he would be about 6ft6. Kane wore lifts in those movies to make himself more intimidating, and I don't doubt they are the same kind of boots he wears everywhere today, to conventions. I've seen these boots in person, while I stood and talked to the guy. They are huge. Way bigger then your average thick soled boot. He is a big guy, but his height is being fabricated. These boots are the reason! Jasonfan is correct, Kane states that he was 6ft1 upon graduating from high school. he did not grow 2 more inches after that. If he was 6ft3 in his barefeet, with these freaky large boots, he would be 6ft6, and come on, it's pretty clear that is not the case. Look at all the pictures of him with other horror movie icons, Gunnar Hansen(Leatherface), who is 6ft4, in those pics he is smaller. There is one particular good one of him sitting down. You can clearly see how friggin huge the soles on these boots are. At least 2 inches thick. I saw them in person , and they are no joke. Put a pair of those on when you stand 6ft1 or 2 in your barefeet, and you are easily now 6ft3 or 4. He seems like a real nice guy, but he is definitely all about the lifts. There is no way this dude is 6ft3 legit!!

He's shorter than Ken Kerzinger or Tony Todd, both of whom are 6'5". They have 1.5 to 2 inches on him.

I think he is at least 6-3. And I wouldnt rule out even 6-5. He does look that in pics and especially moves. But the thing is, was he ever 6-5?? For the longest time I always thought he was the listed 6-5 on the net, and I never questioned it.

I met Kane at a convention over the summer, and with shoes on I am just about 6ft, now Kane wears very big boots with very abnormally thick heels. I would say with these boots he is maybe over 6 ft 2, but they are definitely the responsible party. I think he would like to be 6ft3!

As a Huge fan of Kane Hodder I know he is not 6'5. I have seen the film sam was talking about and he is right Kirzinger is 3 inches taller then Kane. Kane was 6'1 when he graduated from high school so I doubt he would of grown 4 inches after that.
