How tall was Leonard Rossiter

Editor Rob: Not sure about a page, but I'd agree he was more 6ft than 6ft 1 (which was what he put down in the Spotlight books).

Well if you found a Spotlight page for him and he has that height down, I reckon that’s reason enough to add him. But 6ft flat makes more sense, possibly a tad under it.

He’s briefly in this episode of The Professionals (first 10 minutes) Click Here along with Michael Billington who you recently added. He slouches a lot so might appear shorter but beside Collins and Shaw seems close to 6ft. Billington I now think might have been a 6ft0½ guy who rounded down. I’ve seen him in a few things from the 70’s - no less than 6ft.

He played Tony Webster on Reggie Perrin and also appeared on Fawlty Towers and made three appearances on The Professionals. I think 6ft range suits him. I’ve heard as high as 6ft1 but it doesn’t hold up next Rossiter or Cleese.

Rob, how about a page for his OLIVER! co-star, Harry Secombe?

Around 1:30 below, Harry doesn’t exceed 5’7” with Rossiter (who I think was more 5’9” than 5’8.5”).

I think the full 5ft9 is arguable for him. He wasn't a short guy

I just watched Oliver! and I would have guessed about 5’11” for him, had I never seen him before. He had several inches on 5’7” Harry Secombe. 5’9”-5’10” is a range Rossiter really could have been.

He gets 5’9.5” from me, he was only about an inch under 5’10.5” Dudley Sutton and was much taller than 5’8” Colin Blakely in The Pink Panther Strikes Again. He also easily edged out 5’8” Harry Secombe in Oliver! Rossiter never once looked under 5’9” to me. He even looked like he was closing in on my 5’10” at times.

I once went to the pictures and I saw a film about a real life flatulist, played by Leonard Rossiter. It was at the time when you used to see a second film as part of the showing.

I didn't even think it was that funny because the farts weren't realistic and all sounded the same: fabricated!

Leonard gets 5ft9.25. 🤣💨
