In Matthew's case, being muscular does NOT cut his height the way it does for many guys. There are no hard and fast rules with this. It either does dock the height or it doesn't and Matt is one of the lucky ones.

Bodily proportions are a contributory factor, the long-legged musclemen looking taller than those with a larger body and shorter legs so I think I've just eaten my owns words! 🍴

Matt's 'Emmerdale' girlfriend, the meaner-than-ever Meena, is played by one Paige Sandhu, who is hell bent on continuing in her evil ways, having got away with it twice already.

This week, she's going to pick on another kid, this time a tiny little boy. I DON'T think she'll get away with it.

I've read 5ft3 for her, which sounds correct, and 5ft7, which doesn't!

Come on David - the sooner you dump that mean-as-hell Mena, the better! If she's killed young Leanna, and I sincerely hope she survives the forced fall at Mena's hands, then it's off to prison for her - where she belongs, having already killed a girl before. 😝

His Emmerdale son, Jacob, played by Joe-Warren Plant looks taller than Matthew's David! There's no way he fully grown yet because he looks so young at 17. Yet all I can find for him is 5ft7. I think that these lists need updating! He's going to be a tall one.

OK, handsome that he is, and married to the truly gorgeous Charley Webb in real life, Matt's character of David has become extremely flippant with his affections of late!

Obviously, with his being in the constant spotlight over the past few episodes, it's been hard not to take in his (extremely average) height! Not that there's anything amiss with being 5ft8.5, which is the conclusion I came to, but his philandering does make him come with a warning to the girls of 'Emmerdale'! He's married to the lovely Tracy, and made her feel bad about her past, when all along, he was seeking consolation in other girls' beds!

What a nasty piece of work!

Just as well this is all ficticious and that in real life, he is happily married to Charley and has a smashing young family! 👪
