In this video, Lanny looks taller than Randy at 0:28 but around the 0:31 - 0:32 both look close-ish.
As this seen this video, both are barefoot and in their prime so I'd say Lanny was the taller one but Randy could look close at times especially with the hair. You can also see earlier in the video the standard wrestling boots they wore in their territory.

A friend of mine who is about 6 foot recently told me how he met Randy circa the late 90s. He said Randy was ‘huge’ and estimated him at 6’2”. This surprised me as I was really expecting him to say that he was taller than Savage.

Rude made sure and mentioned that Curt was standing on his tip toes. That he was 6'4" and Hennig 6'2". I mean if you count Rude's height when he was in wrestling boots then yes he is 6'4". I feel like Rude was a strong 6'3" barefoot height.

Keep in mind there is very little difference between 6'3" and 6'4" and several factors can affect our estimates. Lastly, I'll just say that if you are right and he was 6'3" on the nose, then how tall was Steve Austin? That would put him at 5'11". Now I've often suspected that Austin was closer to 6' than 6'1", but I can't see him under 6'. Warrior being listed at 6'1.5" Savage here currently listed at 6'0".5" Savage maybe wore lifts in his wrestling boots? I know he wore cowboy boots a lot. I am guessing he wore those in any event center promos with him and Warrior back in 92. google search under images Bret Hart and Randy Savage. Bret is clearly taller than Savage in all four of the pics that come up. in my opinion he is in the 5'11-5'11.5" range. maybe Randy could have hit 6 feet in his younger days or getting out of bed? who knows.

If by half an inch, you really mean 2.5"-3", then yes you are correct. I just linked a clip on here that irrefutably shows Warrior was several inches taller than Savage. I suggest you watch and especially watch at 2:54 when both guys are standing straight. The 5'11" estimates come from the fact that he looked shorter than 6' Bret Hart and was at least 2.5" shorter than 6'2" Ultimate Warrior.

Only way Savage was only 5'11" @ age 44, is if he was wearing some type of eternal lift in his boots? We had on very similar footwear that day. He had on what looked like 1.8" to 2" cowboy boots...and I had on 1.75" sketcher logger boots. My friend had on 1.25" Nike Cross Trainers.

Hogan was trying to describe Savage as maybe the most successful smaller man in the business back in the 80's & early 90's ...he was attempting to brag on Savage & compliment him. However, it came across kind of back handed. Hogan also went on to say that Savage got really jacked later on in his career in the WCW & got into the 230's for a while. I personally met Randy Savage in Roanoke, Va in 1997. He looked 6'0" (maybe 6'0.5" max) ...but, honestly ...more like a spot on 6'0" to me. He also looked about 230 lbs then...at the very least 225.
