My brother and I met Simon Pegg and Nick Frost together just before he start the big Hollywood films. We stood beside them having a pint and I distinctly remember noticing how short they both are. I'm 5' 10" and a fag end and I was a LOT taller than both men. Pegg might've shopping at the same cobblers as Tom Cruise, where your boots magically give you an extra inch of height, but having stood toe to toe with him I can categorically tell you he's not 5' 8. 5' 7" at the absolute tallest. Editor RobIt has potential to be a small elevator, one that has like 1.1 inch sole and 0.5-0.75 lift. It's not as clear-cut...but since he had a taste for elevators when doing Quantum of Solace, maybe at times he wore them outwith filming.

Looked a good 3 inches shorter than Jimmy Fallon with Pegg in Converse and Fallon in Dress shoes. I'd say he could be 5'10" in the morning IF he stood on the outsides of his feet and tilted his head back. Most likely 5'9.5" in the morning tops, just under 5'9" at night. It's hard to tell without meeting the guy, but he never looks like 5ft 10" range.... If he were he could look tallish with the aid of camera angles and small lifts. I'd say this listing is fair, if not slightly generous. Maybe 1.74 is more on the money? Meh, close enough. :-P

@Aman I don't think it can be that far off, a lot of medical records don't even measure you with a stadiometer (I wasn't). I don't know how you could lose 2 inches with the wall method, unless your wall was crooked or something.
Like I said I am 5'10.75" using the wall method, and 6'0.5" according to my records. I know I am not over 5'11" so the doctors measurement is off, therefore if Simon has medical records saying 5'10" it doesn't mean much.

A measurement done by a doctor is the most accurate. According to the doctor, I am 5'7 (well, 66.9 to be exact), but when i was measured the amateur way, may height was 5'6. My friend that measured me was off by 0.9 inches. It went the opposite for my older brother, his friend measured him at 5'6.5 , but in reality he is only 5'5, his friend was off by 1.5 inches. Just saw the Worlds End and even with bad posture he looked 6'0". I was suprised because he looked shorter in Hot Fuzz and Shaun off the Dead. He had on huge boots though, plus a small cast. 175 is solid. I could buy 176 or even perhaps 177cm. He is never 178 though.

I just met him last night at the screening of The World's End at the Alamo Drafthouse in Richardson, TX, USA. I got up on stage to do a Hot Fuzz reenactment. I shook his hand. I would say he is a solid 5' 10". I was wearing boots that boosted me up about an inch and a half, and he was wearing shoes that had a very flat sole, and were low profile. Plus no show socks, so it was very unlikely he had lifts in. He wasn't as short as I thought. I'm 5'11".

Met him a while back at forbidden planet in london. He's a no frills 5'8.5" i'd say. No frills - meaning he didn't make an attempt to wear lifts unlike Cruise in those pics posted by MD. He wore skate shoes and was really pleasant.

Editor Rob Craig has managed to look tall, as he's done with a few in the last year with a few people. I think he has a bit of camera help there though.
Pegg could very well be similar to one of the guys in the height challenge I measured, from my perspective on seeing him his eyelevel could make him look taller, but as with the guy in the challenge he turned out to be 5ft 8.5 on the stadiometer.
putting pegg fraction shy of 5ft 9 is most likely getting nearer.
Pegg could very well be similar to one of the guys in the height challenge I measured, from my perspective on seeing him his eyelevel could make him look taller, but as with the guy in the challenge he turned out to be 5ft 8.5 on the stadiometer.
putting pegg fraction shy of 5ft 9 is most likely getting nearer.

Jeff Bridges towered over this guy in How to Lose Friends. Granted in certain scenes he was made to look small (with the ladies in the lift etc)but there were loads of scenes with Bridges where he looked considerably smaller.

I just saw "Run Fat Boy" with Simon. If Celeb Heights has Frank Azaria at 5'11.25, Simon should be downgraded to 5'8 or so. There is a strong 3" gap in height . Both are wearing Nikes so I assume a similiar heel

Editor Rob Frost has actually woeful posture in person, he can look at times 5ft 6, the director is struggling with 5ft 6 actually, edgar wright. But pegg as I say looked near 175, although there is a chance of 174.

In hot fuzz (about 10 min. in), after Pegg arrests those kids; the one with the traffic cone on his head is about 175cm against the height chart. You then see Pegg taking the cone off, and it’s possible to see Pegg also at about 175cm. But I’m not too sure if he was wearing his big bother boy boots though.
