Travolta was certainly still close to his peak height at the time, and I don't believe there was more than two inches between them. I don't see a full inch of difference between him and Rebecca either. Rob, I think giving him 5ft 10.25 would be more than fair.

I still have the Men's Fitness magazine where it has an article about his transformation into the Punisher. He said he was 165 lbs before shooting. And at the time shooting started he was 180 lbs. Most of which was all upper body muscle.

Whatever someone’s official celebrity height is, you subtract at least 2 inches (as long as it’s under six feet). This guy was wearing lifts the whole time as the Punisher. I don’t think he’s even 5’9”.

I think his skull length is just below 9 inches. With his now ex-wife Patricia Arquette when she was wearing i assume converse sneakers and he was wearing cowboy boots or dress shoes (he probably has a footwear advantage over her by an inch maybe). Just a great example of a legit 5'10" guy. I have never seen him look tall out of film so no idea why people think he is taller.
There are plenty of pics online of him standing next to legit 6 foot guys and he is 2in smaller. He has great proportions and a legit 5'10" isn't small.

He does look taller than this, but on the other hand why would he understate his height? Well, perhaps 5'10" is just some random measurement he got somewhere and then, not being insecure about it he was just like, "I guess I'm five foot ten then". But yeah, I think he's closer to 5'11".

@Ice If you are saying he looks 6'1 because you saw the Punisher, in the comics the Punisher is 6'1, he *probably* wore some footwear to make him appear taller while using some good angles to further emphasize it. Though, to me he did not look 6'1 in the Punisher, may be 6 foot at the most, he did not seem to be lifted much, maybe 1.5-2 inches lift. A few inches should not matter too much anyway.

I am 5'10.5" and 247lbs. Most people guess me to be 6' and 200lbs. So I can believe Tom Jane is 5'10". As averages go ,it often makes him one of the taller people in the room.

I believe that "5-9 at best" is utterly ridiculous. He frequently looks taller than the height he claims, and I believe he is one of those rare few celebs who don't add to their height. If he advertised himself as 5'11" or even 6' I'd believe him without hesitation.

I noticed that he prefers to wear high heeled cowboy boots in premieres. There is plenty of pics in which he towers over David Arquette by 3-4 inches, but then again there is alot of pics in which David and Thomas are pretty much the same height. I bet he also stuffs his boots sometimes.

Just met Mr. Jane yesterday at the San Diego Comic-Con. I stand 6'0" exactley(many many many measurments lol) and I could have sworn he stood an inch taller than me. Granted he was behind a table where I couldnt see if he was standing on the same level ground as I was. Maybe I was just in awe of meeting him. Hes an extremely nice and open guy. If you do see him don't bring up the Punisher, he's quite bitter about that. (I didnt bring it up, some other guy near us did.)

He seemed taller than both Ben Foster and Rebecca Romijn in The Punisher. The difference between Romijn and Jane was about half an inch. I'd say at least 5'10.5".

Editor Rob there'll be some guys, honest joe's who come in at say 5ft 10.25 or 1/3 and just say 5ft 10. Rare though...I know a few who drop 1/2 inches when saying height.

There is a great indie film called "Thursday" with Aaron Echkart?, Paulina Porizkova, and Mickey Rourke. There are several scenes where Jane is clearly shorter than Porizkova in her three inch heels, and he seems almost two inches shorter than Aaron, who is listed at 5-11. I think the 5-10 statement is a slight rounding up!

I'd go with 5'10, I remember reading somewhere where he talked about the fight scene in the Punisher where he mentioned the 6'10 Kevin Nash as being a "solid foot" taller than him.. but who knows, I don't imagine him being any shorter than this.

Good find mike. That photo looks like it was from the same photoshoot as the the photo I linked too. Jane is definately shorter in that pic. Rebecca is supposed to be 5'11" flat footed so I think Jane would have to be at least 5'10" since Rebecca likely has heels on for that event and she doesn't tower over him.
