Why are we still debating this? Has anyone ever seen Klum on TV talk shows or at events in less than 5-6 inch heels? The answer is no. The reason is she is compensating for her less than model tall height. If she was really 5 feet 9.5 and wore 5 inch heels, she would be almost 6 foot 3. If her monster heels next to het 6 foot 3 or 4 inch husband, she is still at least 4 inches shorter. mabey I can help clear this up. okay- models are known for lying about their height-it's because if a girl that is let's say 5'8 with a great face (enter heidi klum) comes along and she has what it takes-her career is on the line if they don't list her as at least 5'9. Editor rob, you have to look a this video that lucy posted way down below. You have tyra listed as her known height, 5 foot 10. Well either tyra is much taller than 5 foot 10 or heidi is not 5 foot 9. If you look at that video, they have the same posture and same shoes. Tyra's hair is bigger, but the difference is too much to explain that. And posture will not make THAT much of a difference. Their height doesn't even look that close. Rob, what is your explanation for that? Tyra is more than 1 inch taller in that video, more like 3 or 4 inches. heels are the same. heidi can not be only 1 inch shorter than tyra. So is it tyra's height that is off or is it heidi's. Rob, please explain this height difference and it's not just cuz of tyra's hair.

I'm a model (@ 5'10 1/2) I can garuntee you that, I can't say that I've personally met the VS models except for alessandra & miranda.But at one show I went to Miranda was there & so was Paris Hilton (I know..) Paris isnt even that tall only 5'7. Now Paris I've heard is a sweetheart but not to other models, she acts sorta snooty, like shes better then the rest, the main one, she always has to have the best dress, she got to pick any dress she wanted even though she was super late & chose Mirandas pink dress that she already had on & they let her, I could tell Miranda wanted to strangle her. She always brings fries backstage like shes saying to us "look I have fries I know you want them but you can't" it's not like we dont eat fries we're just not gonna bring them backstage we're too busy caring & getting ready not slacking off. Alessandra is not too tall, less then what they say since I didnt use my measuring tape (lol) i couldnt find her exact height but I can say she's 5'8, VS models usually wear 5 inchers anyways. Yes, agencies do lie about models height if they're too short, or too tall e.t.c, I'm a legit 5'10 1/2, when I first came into the buisness @ 16 they told me "we're going to round you down to 5'9" I said don't because I'm positive I'm not gonnna grow anymore & if I saw one tiny change in my height I'd take short pills, so it took them a while but they agreed. Miranda on the other hand is just a tad shorter then Ale @ 5'7 1/2. Because that height fits best with the designer clothes. When you start pushing 6', you're also going to have slightly larger dimensions which is only natural, given that an inch in most cases add about 4 lbs. of weight (at least according to the normal weight/height scale). I mean, you could see a 5'9" model at 120 lbs. which would be skinny, but a 6' woman at the same weight? Extremely skinny. Especially given that the clothes have certain B-W-H measurements to fit neatly in their clothes. But of course there's no problems with 6' or close to it, since you also see models at that height. The same goes with male models, as you usually don't see too many over 6'2" just because the desired range is from 5'11" - 6'1".

In the model world, 5'11" is not too tall. 6' is also not too tall (hello-- Kimora Lee Simmons?). Usually when you start pushing over 6' then perhaps, but there are always exceptions. In other words, you can never be too tall, ever. 5'8" is usually the minimum, not 5'7". However, there are exceptions. And models are NEVER usually in the mid-range of female height-- if that was the case, you'd see a lot more 5'5" young models when that clearly isn't the case.
The most desired range is 5'9"-10" usually. I clearly remember being rejected for being a shade under 5'8" as they said I was too short (and too young) at the time. As for Heidi, she looks a bit over 5'8". Perhaps 5'8" 1/2 and not quite 5'9". Laura says on 1/Mar/08

In the photo with Gwen she is standing farther back. You guys arent taking into consideration the perspective in photos! You also cant see how high Cheryl or Heidi's heels are in that photo; Cheryl's heels could be much higher. Also, 3 inch heels really dont make you 3 inches taller cuz heels are slanted. I would say that in 3 inch heels you end up maybe 2 inches taller at most, depending on how slanted they are.

James: Most people assume when you stand on your "tippy-toes" that you become 5 inches taller; however, you only extend yourself by about 2.5 inches. I'm 5'11, but If I stand on my toes, I hit about 6'1 (a little over). Try it now and see the results. I can't guarantee this though; everyone has a different foot).

I stood behind her while she was interviewed at the Vanity Fair party on Sunday. She is about 5'7" to 5'8" max. She really wasn't very tall but probably the most perfect looking person I've ever seen in person, wearing an ice blue shimmering gown and amazing earrings.
