I met Kirk Douglas about 21 years ago very briefly at Mission Hills Country Club in Rancho Mirage, CA. He and his wife were extremely nice people. But I was very amazed at his size. He and I were the EXACT same size in height and frame, 5'7" and medium frame. Wrong Anonymous. Kirk was about 5'8" in his prime. He later lost height due to age plus his medical problems plus the fact he's terribly bow-legged. And Kirk was not small boned. The guy had one of the widest chests I've ever seen on an actor except for Bob Mitchum's.
Michael was 5'10" prime. I mean look at THE STREETS OF SAN FRANCISCO. He's not more than two to three inches shorter than 6'1" Karl Malden.

Doesn't prove anything. We don't see his feet plus Karl Malden shrank. I know since I saw him in the 1980s when he was about 6' (his peak was 6'1") and then in the late 1990s when he didn't look much more than 5'10". Michael Douglas was next to me in the commissary at 20th Century Fox in the mid 80's. I was shocked at how short he is. I am 5'10" and had 2 1/2" heels on, and he was MUCH shorter than my husband, who was 5'9" (deceased). I would say he might be 5'8" with shoes on, and perhaps even "elevators." I would have guessed him to be 5'6-7" in his bare feet. Intrigues me that many times men give their height with shoes on, and women in bare feet, which definitely makes a difference.
