i live in kerala and in the fishing villiages it's not uncommon to see several 6'8 men, now i don't know if it has to do with the fish or what, but very tall men there. impossible to give an avg cop killa it's futile, so diverse are indians that it's impossible that you're right about 5'7 or 5'5. adi sounds like someone who actually has seen india and knows about the people there, so i would take his advice as well as mine. cop killa says on 1/Jun/08
na,but the average can only be decided by measuring them....when ur in city like mumbai or delhi...u can very much get a good estimate...i agree with 5'5-5'6 being average...when i see a 5'5 guy...i won't call him short....very much average.In punjab its more like 5'7 as average uhh says on 26/May/08

Thank you for this pic Rob. He looks 1m74 max even if you had bigger shoes, that makes him 1M76 max.

finally someone acknowledged the diversity of height in india. i'm a keralite living in thiruvilla and see several tall men and women. one of my classmates he is 6'9, he comes up past the door so he may even be 6'10. the 5'5 avg is not realistic at all. TNTinCA says on 4/Apr/08

i have travelled all across india.punjabis i think would average at 5'9.south indians ive seen the height chart is extremely diverse.there were a many 6+ people and there were many 5'5 people as well.in kerela particularly the younger generation is unusaully much taller than thier parents.most colleges youll go to you'll find that the new average comes to be around 5'8 .and most have them have short parents.i live in mumbai and most keralaites i know are above 5'10.i think the punjabis and the younger generation keralaites are the tallest people in the country. the shredder says on 3/Apr/08

About average height in india, i agree that average in punjab is higher, im a 5'9 guy born in europe but both my parents are punjabi (dad is only 5'3 and mom is only 5'2). When i was in india last year, in punjab, many told me i had a gud height, not extremely tall, but i was tall. I am not talking about the sikh community or jats.
I think in this sikh, jat community average male height may be 5'9" (certainly not more) , overall in punjab you could say 5'7" is average. In india on its whole maybe 5'6". ghus says on 3/Apr/08

Justin-in-time, no one ever implied Sendhil was short rather he looks much taller on the show than when he's interviewed and live.

Yeah, he does look surprisingly tall on the show. I was kind of surprised to see him in interviews on the late-night shows. He was definitely shorter than Jay Leno on the Tonight Show some months ago. You didn't get any pictures with him, did you?

Funny, I was just about to request he be added, and was going to say that he doesn't look much taller than fellow castmate Milo Ventimiglia. This looks about right, maybe just a bit shorter, but not much. I would have guessed 5'9" or 5'9.5", actually.
