How tall was Harold Sakata

Harold Sakata's Height

5ft 8 ½ (174 cm)

American weightlifter, actor and wrestler, best remembered for playing Odd Job in Goldfinger.
A 1971 article mentioned he had a "5-foot-9, 225-pound muscular frame" and a 1969 newspaper said he was a "Muscular 220 pounds with a 19-inch neck, 50-inch chest and 36-inch waist. His height is 5-feet-9."
Harold Sakata remembers the day when he stood five feet nine inches tall and wore a size 20 shirt.
"But that," said Sakata here this morning, "was before I was hanged. Now I'm five feet nine and a half inches tall and my shirt size is 19 and a half inches."

Sub 5 foot 8 in Goldfinger. The hat made him look a bit taller in some angles.

Rob, He was mentioned as 284 pounds in a Goldfinger Documentary. Goldfinfer was 1965, is it possible he lost 40 pounds from 1965 to 1969? 225 pound seems to fit him in some pictures, but as Oddjob he looked like a tank!

I wouldn't have went quite that high in Goldfinger, but it's easy to be fooled 10-20 pounds!

I met this chap at a busy event when I was a child in the early 70's and he was no taller than my dad who was only 5'7. An average Englishman back then was 5'9 to 5'10 ish and he just looked just that little bit shorter than most of the men around him. 5'7 wouldn't surprise me at all.

I used to buy 5’10” for Sakata but 5’8.5” is probably more logical when I think about it now. Sean Connery and Gert Frobe were both much taller than Sakata in Goldfinger.

good call for Harold's height - he didn't really look his billed height of 5'10" compared to Connery in Goldfinger.
