his last post was about bruno/tyson I think, after that he vanished

he thought six four, and if he measured 10am he might be close to it

the 5th place were those 4-4.5mm out, that's usually the kind of cutoff for these challenges, it's like a mm out each position.

it's too complex to work all that out I'm afraid, it's just the points accumulated over all challenges.

challenge 13, the tall guy?

I don't know what height his parents are.

the left photo is almost perfect as 5ft 8.25 comes up around his mouth in reality.

But if the camera was 3-4 feet nearer it's easy to knock a fraction from my height, which I think happened with challenger 8.

Unfortunately you submitted twice so I have to go with the rules and the first guess counting, unless it's an easy to spot mistake like 185.2 when you meant 195.2 or something. Or if you submitted something and wasn't sure and submitted shortly after.

it is usually 4 or 5mm.

If I was going to go to 2 decimal places rather than grouping say a 0.32mm and 0.35mm, then this challenge you'd have to be only 2mm out.

I used to have a pair of jeans in the 80's that were real flexible and I named them 'Chuck Norris action jeans'.

I don't really know him much.

I would say for this challenge, Jenny is a better distance away, maybe 10 feet, the camera is about 5ft 5 high for it.

I'm seeing who spotted that first, maybe get a bonus point for it.

Jenny has said in the past people think her and 12.2 were more alike than 12.1!

I'm not sure yet, but if I do it would be a big break before doing another one and would reset the board.

I believe she looks identical in both, although maybe with a smaller head it helps to give taller illusion.

for those who remember G's measurement of 169.3, compared to girl #2 (who is 1.8cm taller) G's photo was very fair on his height: G versus #2.

2 of them are guys on their own.

the other one will be a bit like this, I have a few photos I'll put together of different heights, to let some more people get some points. It looks like Physics vanished from the challenge...he still had a shout!

the last part is the 'overall' ranking for the 3 girls combined.

you just missed 5th place in 'overall' - you were joint 6th place with beastman.

I would let someone change it if they submitted and said not long after they made a mistake.

you would have been first place then, so give yourself an 'honorary' 1st if you want.

nobody managed top 3 in each, there was at least 2 people who had used a couple aliases on this one, so their score shouldn't count.

yes, I also believe she looks 5ft 7 in the photo, so the camera knocked a fraction off her height.

I told Jenny to move further back but it wasn't (like girl 1) as far as I'd have liked.

but then when I moved Jenny the furthest away (with the plumber) I think it added a good fraction to the plumbers height!

actually I have removed 2 scorers from this challenge, as a result triple got an extra point.

yeah, if anybody actually took that 172.2 figure instead of the 173.2 you can alter your guess for #3 if you wish. Although I would hope people would recognise it was the same time as height challenger 5 and a typo :)

that's fair, since it was meant to say 173.2 for girl 3

it should be 173.3 and 173.2. Girl 3 was taken the same night as challenger 5.

well you'd be right to say it's not 4.5 inches ;) she may have knocked a couple more mm from it by slight upward tilt.

these challenges are helpful and reveal some things about perception to me.

I am making it one combined challenge, but will give bonus 5 points to the closest on each of 3 girls aswell.

*actually, what I'll do is the usual overall top 5 having 10/8/5/3/1 points

and for each of the girls do another top 5 but the points are 5/4/3/2/1 awarded.

then it will let a few more people get some points for this one.

there's a reason I put all 3 on the one page.

the idea was to make it a bit harder with 3 in one, it's still 10/8/5 etc points for top 5.

What I will do though is award 5 BONUS points to the person(s) who gets nearest for each girl.

it will be overall closest on 3 guesses.

So if I had 3 girls at 5ft 10/5ft 10/5ft 10 and you guessed 5ft 10.25, 5ft 10.5, 5ft 10.75...your overall guess would be (0.25+0.5+0.75) = 1.5 inches out.

I guarantee to get somebody taller than challenger 5 by the end of the 15 challenges.

I think the stadiometer gives a false sense of being more over 5ft 8 than reality because of the error.

I really am just 5ft 8 1/8th, and the 1/8th is so small that it really doesn't make much difference.

I think if Mamun measures 5ft 8.75 out of bed, that's good enough to be a 5ft 8 guy on here.

It's when you measure 5ft 7.5 out of bed and claim 5ft 8-9, you start to end up with problems.

G would look about the same height as this volunteer, well I mean their hair would be level.

yeah basically 5ft 5 and 1/8th.

Her Dad took part in a height challenge...although she didn't quite get her dad's taller height genes. She has a sister (who isn't in any height challenges) who is in 174cm range.

there is a bit of luck to it.

With this one if I was guessing I'd go: she's looking just about middle of Rob's mouth, so if she has 4.4-4.5 inch eyelevel she's maybe 3-3.1 inches smaller. That would get you inside top 5.

With number 10 I'd go, Rob's eyes are looking about an inch under 10's mouth...so that's likely 5ft 8.25+4...6ft 0.25 at least. Now is there a chance the camera is adding a few mm? Possibly. Is there a chance the eyelevel of 11 is a tiny bit longer? If you believe either may add a couple more mm it would then get you pretty close.

the only thing would be, sometimes the camera can add more than a few mm, with the plumber I think it might have added at least a 1/3rd inch of height...

remember challenger 10 wore the G shirt...

well, I found him pulling The G Trick on #11!

there already in first day is a good range of guesses.
