I’m watching ‘Burnt Offerings’, and in this film her tendency towards looking creepy came in very handy.

She plays the wife of Oliver Reed, and mother to his son and he comes over as far more trustworthy - which makes a change for him!

I’d indeed go with 5ft7, strong, so I’m giving Karen 5ft7.25. 🕯

@Arch it’s called looking towards the camera and she doesn’t even look cross eyed

Lee, out of how many women pages I've commented on on the site, I don't think I've ever called an actress or singer ugly, most are quite the opposite on here.

Click Here she looks lovely there in fairness, but I think she's a bit crossed eyed. If you watch her films she can be a bit scary, even if still alluring. Click Here Perhaps you're not seeing what I am...

What was wrong with that Parker? Watch her in films, she was a bit odd around the eyes, but still quite alluring. I'm not bad looking at all actually and keep very fit, but I certainly wished I'd been dark colouring!!

6ft 3 julian I was referring to arch saying her legs were her best asset definitely not her face. Which is my eyes is the same as him calling her ugly and I dont like comments like that

I have just watched Karen in the Tobe Hooper movie 'Invaders from Mars'.
Watching it was more of a personal challenge really, as I had difficulty taking in that Tobe Hooper could make a mediochre 'two star' film! It was on the 'Horror Channel' so watching it wasn't exactly expensive and the cast was respectable, with Black, Louise Fletcher and Timothy Bum Bums, so I thought I'd watch a bit and at worst, I could take in a few heights!
The first person of interest was Karen Black. She plays an attractive school nurse who supports a little boy as he tries to run from a gang of Martians who have taken over the bodies of various Earthlings, which is just as well really because they themselves look hilarious rather than horrific! The Human-in-Charge (of the Invaders) is Louise Fletcher, more than likely chosen for her height, because she is infinitely taller and scarier than the aliens could ever be! They are in fact, ball-shaped with rasor-sharp teeth!
The first comparison I could make of Karen Black was with Louise Fletcher, but as I was viewing Fletcher from behind, I hadn't taken it in that it was her yet and I felt quite surprised to see Karen Black, who I had always thought of as a tallish woman, looking anything but! Having seen Louise Fletcher in a handful of modern-day Horrors, I expected that she was going to be weightier than she was in this, but she was nearer to her 'Cuckoo's Nest' weight. Consequently, I was completely fooled, thinking Fletcher was another woman and Black about 5ft4 or 5. As soon as I realised who was who, and that the film was made in 1986, it was easy to see that Karen was around the 5ft7 that I had expected.
One last thing: The eye make-up she wears in the above picture does nothing to soften her 'sharp-nostrilled' nose! In today's tale, her make-up was flattering and feminine and suited her far more than the heavy-eyed look!

@ Arch - I'm sure even you'd agree!

I am giving Karen 5ft7!

Her best asset were her legs, I think that was why she could be sexy, as obviously the face aint!
Arch Stanton said on 12/Jul/16
Mmm, a LOT shorter than Donald Sutherland in Day of the Locust even in heels. There's a chance of 5'6,5-5'6.75. Strange woman, scary and you'd guess pretty crazy and volatile at times, but oddly sexy and alluring at the same time. The sort of woman you might encounter in a drunken one night stand, but never want to marry haha.

Rob, could you add to her credits?: Cisco Pike, The Trilogy of Terror and Come Back to the 5 & Dime, Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dean.

Yes, I think you were right to go more on 5 ft 7 than 5 ft 8. In fact there's a scene with Charlton Heston at the end of Airport 75 where she's in 2 inch heels and still looking at least 6 inches shorter.

No way shorter jtm, she was taller than Jack Nicholson in moderate heels.

Nice one, I guessed 5'7 and a half. I thought she could look a tad taller. Very unfortunate eyes, hide the eyes and she can look quite attractive!
