@Shane: I actually think he may have been 6’8 out of bed. On a normal day maybe 6’7.25 at a low in his peak and 6’7” flat maybe at an extreme low or perhaps even a hair less. Today I doubt over 6’7” at a low though
Shane said on 19/Feb/19
If he was 6'8" out of bed he was 6'8". That is his full height. But if still going by a low I would say he can dip slightly under 6'7". 6'7" low at most. I'm not convinced he was ever quite 6'8" barefoot at any time of the day.

Early 80's I snuck down courtside at The Garden for practice. I know he had me. 6' 7" peak easy. Kareem was a building.

@Jack S: I agree. I think a peak Magic was about 201cm 6’7.25 at his low and 6’8 or a touch over out of bed. Today probably just solid 6’7”

Some suits handmade for Magic Johnson around 2015-2016 closely match the measurements of my handmade suits. My height is 78.1 inches (6'6.1") or 198.37 cm. At least in his 50's, he can't be too much taller than me and fit in the same size suit. I'd put him around 6'7"-6'7.5".

Magic wasn’t over 6’7-6’7.5 peak

It irritates me that both the NBA and the NCAA measure players “in their shoes”, which have varying levels of thickness. It makes determining the “true height” of any one player difficult. In some cases, guys can exaggerate a whole 2 inches of height. Magic had been saying that he was 6’9” for years, but he was .5 to .75 inches shorter than Larry Bird who was a solid 6’9” peak.
Canson said on 16/Jan/19
@Junior: I think he’s still 6’7”. My guess is a peak Magic had 2.5-3” on Jordan and stood 201ish while MJ stood 194.5 peak. Maybe 6’4.5-6’4 5/8 range

I don't think Magic Drop under 6'7 if anything lower. He still could be an inch taller than Carmelo. Click Here Well 5years ago in this clip but Magic look 3cm close up taller.

How can he claim 6ft9 when he looks almost 4 inches taller maximum than Conan O brien ?

Canson said on 10/Oct/18
He was drafted and announced by the former commissioner at 6’8”. His 6’9 claim is likely a shoe height rounded up maybe morning. I can’t see a peak magic over 6’7.25 barefoot at a low
Canson said on 10/Oct/18
@Junior: to be honest, if Kobe measured 195 it’s not impossible he dips under that at night. I have Magic at about 6’7” flat max and have for quite some time. Kobe at 195 makes perfect sense and Magic maybe 200.5. Or Kobe could be 195.1 even. That’s still about 6’4.75 (6’4.81).
Junior Hernandez 1990 said on 11/Sep/18
@Canson Yes something like 5.5cm from Michael Jackson Memorial video not quite 6cm or more, only some disadvantage picture on Kobe then he can look close to 6'7 1/2. Maybe still 6'7 and Kobe has to be solid 195cm guy.
Canson said on 9/Sep/18
@Junior: Magic may be 2.25” taller than Kobe imho
Junior Hernandez 1990 said on 6/Sep/18
@Canson Atually to be specific Magic only look 2" taller than Kobe now but a little over 2" taller than MJ. I would throw to Magic 6'6 7/8 today to think about Kobe being 6'4 7/8 a higher chance.
Canson said on 28/Aug/18
@RP: I remember he claimed 6’8.5 which is in shoes for sure. My guess peak maybe 6’8 out of bed and 6’7-6’7.25 at a low (a bit stronger 6’7 than someone like Lebron who likely only measures that in the morning). I would put Lebron 6’6.75 or .5. He only has about 2” on Kobe and Jordan
Junior Hernandez 1990 said on 16/Aug/18
202.5cm highest for peak i believe for Magic. But 6'7 might be now today.
RP said on 31/Jul/18
But... all of the pre-draft articles on Magic Johnson in 1980 Lucid him at 6’8” ... I just always assume that was a legit barefoot measurement. Since those same articles were listing Larry bird at 6’9”.
RP said on 31/Jul/18
Canson... actually I agree , 6’8” youthful peak morning barefoot height. And probably 6 7-1/2”-Ish evening height in his prime ... and like you said , possibly even dipping as low as 6’7-1/4” by late night. Most likely in his physical prime .. here is morning barefoot height was probably 6’7-3/4” barefoot ... this would make him rifght at 6’9” and his basketball sneakers in the morning. Making his 6’9” Occasional NBA listing somewhat believable to The average non-height conscious observer. What I do know is that magic Johnson has had multiple pictures with LeBron James well into his 50s ... and magic always looks a fraction taller than the 6’7-1/4” barefoot LeBron James. The Legit 6’9” Larry bird always did look 1.25” inches taller than Magic...sometimes even 6’7.5” in certain photos .
Canson said on 21/Jul/18
@RP: I’ve never seen Magic measured that tall. The NBA Commissioner prior to David Stern called him 6’8” at the Draft meaning he was likely 6’7.5 possibly but we also don’t know when he was measured (time of the day). What I do know is that Pat Riley (his coach) called him 6’7” before as well and if you look at him with Kurt Rambis he’s shorter so 6’8” is too much for him. Maybe 6’7.25 at a low and Rambis was a legit 6’8” guy who was just listed barefoot. Magic doesn’t look over 201 with Kareem or Worthy or with Jordan (who measured 6’4.5 when he was drafted). As far as the “closer to 6’7” you mentioned it just now that they called Charles Barkley “closer to 6’4 5/8” and “Magic closer to 6’7”. If Magic were really 6’7 5/8 or 3/4” they would’ve included the change like they did for Barkley or simply said “closer to 6’8”. Now I believe the 6’7.25 to be a low for him and 6’8” out of bed I do believe
Jrbowe42 said on 19/Jul/18
He has always been clearly a little shorter than Larry Bird, who was an easy 6‘9“ in his prime, by I‘d say 1- 1.5 inches. 6‘7.5-6‘8 peak seems believable.
RP said on 14/Jul/18
Magic was a peak 6’8” !!! Fact! Measured in 1980!
By 1992 he was 6’7.75”... was measured at 6’7-3/4” or 6’7-5/8” barefoot for his 1992 Olympic Team physical. I’ve heard both 6’7-5/8” & 6’7-3/4” from 1992. Which is closer to 6’7” than 6’9”...which brought on the claim from “one reporter” ...who said “Magic was measured closer to 6’7” than 6’9”...saying he was 6’7” & change. He never elaborated on the “change” ...which was 5/8” or 3/4”...I’ve heard both. Reportedly at the Olympic Team Training Camp was measured @ 6’7-3/4” & at the Olympic Physicals it was 6’7-5/8”...Barkley at the Olympic Team Training Camp was 6’4-3/4” & was 6’4-5/8” @ the Olympic Physical. By the 2000’s Magic was down to 6’7-1/2”...but, his peak height in his 20’s & early 30’s was 6’8”. Deserves a peak height of 6’8”.
Peak: 6’8”
Early 90’s : 6’7.75”
Early 2000’s: 6’7.5”
Present day is still holding at 6’7.5”-ish
Canson said on 13/Jul/18
@Gracian: more likely solution is that Magic may have been 6’7-6’7.25 peak. Pat Riley described Magic as 6’7” when he coached him. Remember height varies throughout the day so a 6’7” magic could easily be closer to 6’8” in the morning. Lebron at 6’7.25 in the morning could be 6’6.75 afternoon which is how Celebheights is based
Canson said on 12/Jul/18
@Shane: I think he could lose an inch honestly. I agree. Maybe 6’8 out of bed 6’7” at a low

@Portofino: his 6’8.5 was likely a shoe height in the morning. He’s always been a 6’7” guy at a low

@Canson: I doubt Magic was ever 6'8" barefoot out of bed. I'd say tops 6'7 3/4" and dipping to 6'7" or a shade below. I'd say if he ever hit 6'8" barefoot out of bed he lost an inch or more thereafter.
VicLions said on 3/Jul/18
I will give him 6ft8. In his early years he was always being listed at 6ft8. It was not until 1984, his rivalry with Larry Bird blew up and then the 6ft9 listings came around.

Agree with Micky probably closer to 6’7 than 6’7.5. He has about 2.5”-2.75” on 6’4 1/2 Michael Jordan. Magic can likely touch or even possibly clear 6’8” out of bed but won’t hold above maybe 201cm flat at a low.

@Junior: that’s possible today that he’s under by a hair.

@Junior: that’s correct about Broome that he’s 6’5”. But he didn’t meet Magic at the Casino. He met Penn Jillette and Garrett. However, Broome said that Patrick Ewing was his neighbor and that he looked 6’9” and change. Another poster, Bruin, met Magic on UCLA’s campus and said he’s 6’7”. Duhon is correct below as the old NBA commissioner (prior to David Stern who has since been replaced), announced Magic as 6’8 200lbs when he was drafted. They’ve always linked Magic and Larry together so they did make them the same height as a result imho. I saw where Jud Heathcote, Magic’s former coach at MSU, referred to Magic as a 6’8” point guard twice In one of Magic’s documentaries. This was after Magic had retired. I believe he was listed 6’8” when he played at MSU. I think Magic could measure 6’8” out of bed but at a low, he would dip to 6’7ish. He looked about 2” shorter than Mitch Kupchak, as well. Kupchak was a legit 6’9” from what I’ve seen in many pictures. Magic can look sub 6’7” today at times however. He also weighs about 300lbs today so I could believe that he’s possibly dropped some height
Smiles03 said on 9/May/18

Magic was never even 6’8. Prob peak was around 6’7 or 6’7 1/4 and 6’8 and change in sneaks. Bird had an easy 1.5-2” on him prob close to 2. Conan has never been a barefoot 6’4” guy. Look at Conan with Selleck or Lithgow or Hasselhoff. But of course then you get the Danimals of the world who inflate others to try to make Conan 6’4-6’4.5 when that was a shoe height

If Magic is 6'7.5" then Larry Bird was 6'9.5" as some have claimed but Larry Bird next to Bill Russell appeared to be roughly the same height with a slight edge to Russell by a half an inch which would put Bill Russell at 6'10" when Russell was a self admitted 6'9 and 5/8ths and he was older which would put Larry Bird in the 6'9" range max at that time. I see you trying to give Magic the benefit of the doubt but there are too many photo's of him with legit 6'9" guys to do so.
Canson said on 4/Mar/18
@RP: when Pat Riley coached him he called him 6’7” and never looked that close in height with Larry Bird. My guess is 201 peak (6’8 out of bed) and maybe flat 6’7” today or a hair under

He was never a true 6’8” range guy. Maybe a 6’7 peak or strong 6’7 who woke up to 6’8.
Frank R said on 4/Jan/18
In many photos from the 1970s and 80s, Magic Johnson appears to be less than an inch shorter than Larry Bird who was a legit 6’9”. At his absolute tallest, Magic could have been 6’8.5”, but he was no less than 6’8”. H.I.V. could have accelerated Magic’s reduction in height since the disease can break down muscles, tendons, and ligaments. In addition, “tall people” tend to shrink earlier in life than shorter people do because of the effects of gravity on the spine. Magic Johnson might be as tall as 6’7”.5” today when he’s standing with perfect posture.

Rob, i don't think Tacko Falls had near a foot long head than the 7 foot 1 guy Ian Whyte who you took a picture with. Ian look have a solid 10.5-10.75" range and Tacko look to have just above 10.5" in length it's just that he had more bigger in head circumference measurement but not length.
Editor Rob: maybe 11.5

Rob, is that possible for this guy to be 2m30 ? It's Tacko Fall, listed at 2m30 but he don't look 29 cm over Magic (there is also a picture of him with Kareem and he looks a bit taller)
Editor Rob: I don't think it is impossible, especially given Tacko has a big head which might be nearly a foot long.

@Gonzalo: I doubt Ball is even that tall. Lebron looks max 200cm next to other players like Melo or Kobe. Lonzo it would surprise me if he’s any taller than I am and I’m about as tall as your cousin is 2-3mm under 194 at night. His father looks around an inch taller. Lavar can look weak 6’6 at times or a strong 6’5 other times. He’s listed 6’5 on Wikipedia and was listed 6’6 I think too when he played football. My guess strong 6’5 prob

Saw Lonzo Ball talking to LeBron the other day and Ball was clearly shorter. 1,95 at the most.

@Shane: he could’ve been. A guy his height could lose close to an inch. But he may also have just been 202cm range 6’7.5-.75. Some people get early measurements while others didn’t. A guy like Carmelo Anthony could be 6’7” out of bed and dip to 6’6-6’6.25 as he really looked near his height (based on me claiming my afternoon height).

Magic look at least a full 6'7 with Kobe Bryant for recent photo, Kobe who could be few mm top 195cm. Magic may have lost a full cm quite a few years back. Peak 202cm is not arguable to mention. I see 5.5-6cm between Kobe and Magic for proper comparison photos.

Kobe 195-195.3cm
Magic 200.8-201cm (peak 202)

@Johno: I think Magic is taller than Gronk for sure. Carmelo Anthony likely is taller than Gronk. Gronk looks a morning height here because with Brady it's like 1.5" gronk prob isn't over 197 maybe 197.5. He doesn't look much taller than Suh either maybe couple inches max. Wouldn't surprise me if his hair gave a slight boost or if he were between 1/8-1/4 and rounded up to 1/4. I don't deny him being 6'6-6'6.5 out of bed but NFL combine is generally a couple hours out of bed so for him to look 197 range that seems a bit high seems more like he would prob be 6'6" at that time max and come down to 6'5 5/8-3/4 based on what I see at least. He doesn't look nearly as tall as Alge Crumpler and sometimes looks smaller than jimmy graham honestly. Melo however I have met and he had me by 1.5-2" from what my wife and others next to us said and from looking at him was about right. I could possibly give him his listed height as we both (from what I believe at least) were in dress shoes. Maybe I didn't notice if he didn't have the same shoe on. But he looks it on the court too and with Kobe. I couldn't put Melo shorter than a nighttime of a flat 6'6 maybe a flat 198 which is a mm under. But he looked prob 198.5 in person.

As for Magic he's overlosted here. He was never 202cm. He was about 201 at his peak at his lowest and has poor posture. A coworker of mine who is about half inch or so shorter than me (used to work with him until he retired last month) said he himself is 6'3.75 (honest guy) has met Magic and put him at 6'7" no higher and that was a couple years ago. He said Magic had him by about 3" or so and he has a 6'7" relative who he said was the same height in person. So may just be Magic's Poor posture. He has a hump in his back sort of. Maybe he is 200 today (6'6.75) and was 201 peak like Christian said. That I can easily see. Magic looks taller than Carmelo does wouldn't question that at all as he also appears taller than Lebron at times and believe peak he was. But he looks about 200 with Kobe just like Lebron does too

@Shane: I can see Fultz as a weak 6'3. Only because of his hair being longer but facing Silver he looks maybe a cm shorter or small fraction less. Also could be Silver may be 6'3 1/8 at his low tho
Canson said on 1/Aug/17
@Shane: I had assumed previously he was a full 6'3". that's what I meant too by full 6'3", 6'3" at his lowest and prob 6'3.75 out of bed maybe a worst case maybe he can go to 6'2 7/8 at night. He's a good legit 6'3" guy imho who claims his true height too
Canson said on 23/Jul/17
Assuming Adam Silver is a legit 6'3" (he can look it imho), I would say Markelle Fultz is between 6'2.5-.75 (he looks a hair shorter in the pic where they face one another when they are all congregated together) and Lonzo about 1.5-2" taller than Fultz and maybe 1.5 at most over the commish. There's a pic with all of the draftees on stage. Lonzo's hair makes it a bit harder to gauge it but with Magic and Lavar he looks more a strong 6'4 guy like Insomniak said. He's a bit shorter than Lavar in a few pics. Imho his father still looks at least strong 6'5" today (6'6" was his listed NFL height) so no telling if he didn't at least manage to be over 6'5.5 at his peak since he has aged and put on mad weight today
Canson said on 22/Jul/17
@JKE168: Lonzo doesn't have a measurement this year. The 6'3.5 is a few years back. I think he grew since then as he was a junior or so in high school. Anywhere in the 6'4" range looks good for him next to magic imho. Maybe a strong 6'4" or so
JKE 168cm said on 22/Jul/17
@insomniak

I think those listings are fake, because I've seen an interview with LaVar where he said that Lonzo wasn't invited to USA Basketball. If this was the case then how where those measurements taken?
insomniak said on 22/Jul/17
I also think lonzo can look 6'4-6'4.5 what's weird is he was measured 6'3.5 for two years in a row I believe. Lamelo is claiming 6'4 now but he looks a couple of inches shorter than lonzo.
Canson said on 20/Jul/17
@Duhon: I think somewhere between 4 and 5. After looking closer he looks over the flat 6'4". Looks taller than his dad on occasion but his dad looks taller more often. I think Lavar can look 196-197 or 197-198 maybe.
Duhon said on 19/Jul/17
I've wondered what Lonzo's real height was since he didn't go through the barefoot draft process. I thought he could be as low as 6'4" but looks 6'5" with Magic.
Canson said on 19/Jul/17
Lonzo actually measured 6'3.5 barefoot but a couple years ago. He doesn't have a pre draft as he skipped it. But i can agree witH Brad he is that height 6'4.5. Magic is 6'7" not 6'6". He's taller than jalen Rose. Lonzo is between 6'4-6'4.5 range no higher than 194cm
JKE 168cm said on 18/Jul/17
@Brad Oh just realized you mean Lonzo.
JKE 168cm said on 18/Jul/17
@Brad Wait LaMelo was measured 6'4.5"? Since when?

@Chris: OK. so Charles Barkley says he's 6'4.75 and 6'4 1/2 yet you insist he's 6'6 or 6'7. Why should your estimate outrank his? Or his actual Olympic measurement of 6'4 5/8? Or why should your estimate of 6'10 for Bird outrank the NBA measuring him around 6'9"?

@Shane: agreed and it's funny with chris where he says Barkley is 6'6 or 6'7" yet wants to use the because Magic says he is here even when Barkley says he is a certain height too".
Shane said on 7/Jul/17
@Chris it seems quite obvious Magic was claiming his in shoe height when comparing to other players near his height. He was only listed at 6'8" entering the NBA.
RYAN11 said on 7/Jul/17
One reason people (same ones every time) say Majic and others are inches shorter than they really are us because then their low estimates for every other celeb goes out the window. Like someone on Hogans page says Majic was only 6'7" to justify their rediculously low 6'5" for Hogan who was every bit 6'7" and Majic was 6'9" barefoot
Chris said on 7/Jul/17
And none of this even makes sense. You can go and look at pictures now of Magic Johnson stood with Larry Bird, and there is maybe a 0.75 inch difference. Larry is a tiny bit bigger, but it's close.

And you list Bird at 6'9. So it's obvious Magic is as tall as he says he is 6'8 to 6'9
Chris said on 7/Jul/17
Magic Johnson said he was 6'8.5 for a reason. The reason is, he had been measured many times over his career, and probably in his own home, and that's what the tape said.........

Can I ask why you guys think your own estimates (based on never even seeing the guy in purpose) should rank about how tall Magic Johnson says he is?!

Shane said on 28/Jun/17
@Canson: I think you're 201 for him as a general height (slightly over 6'7") is pbly a good call. I don't think he ever hits 6'8" barefoot tho. 6'7" 1/2 maybe and 6'7" 3/4 tops imo.
Canson said on 25/Jun/17
@Shane: I can actually buy him as a full 6'8" out of bed but he may well dip to that mark after a long day and I'd almost say I can see that. I think he walks around at 201cm peak
Shane said on 24/Jun/17
I think Magic is/was about 6'7" flat. Slightly over that out of bed. Could see him dipping to 6'6" 7/8 of so without shoes.

@Canson - same here. It's amazing to think he is still with us and as good as he ever was, as so many lost the battle to that dreadful disease in the 80's and 90's. One of the most humble guys around, to say he has all the fame and money and always has a smile on his face.
Canson said on 21/Jun/17
I remember the day in grade school when I found out! For someone who we all thought wouldn't still be here 25/26 years ago much less be the VP of the Lakers today and the Businessman he is, he has really been Magic on and off the court.
Canson said on 21/Jun/17
My guess is 6'7-6'7.25 barefoot and 6'8-6'8.5 in a pair of sneaks (out of bed he's 6'8 barefoot)
Bazza said on 21/Jun/17
Iv'e always thought just over 6'7 barefoot for Magic. the listing is pretty good. Definitely 6'9 in his Basketball shoes so i have no problem with him claiming that as they are pretty much all NBA listed 1.5 - 2" taller than their true barefoot. Bird about 6'8.5 barefoot - he always edged Magic out.
Canson said on 19/Jun/17
Agree Rising force. I see magic peak a strong 6'7" and worthy 6'8. Worthy was near Rambis both taller than Buck
Realist said on 19/Jun/17
Those women have to all be under 5'6 because 6'8 is humongous but they look like they're at his elbow.
RisingForce said on 18/Jun/17
I see about 1 cm difference there without guessing what role posture and the low angle plays. If Magic is the height he's listed here then I'd say Worthy just about scrapes 6'8" based on that photo. Magic was listed at 6'8" at the start of his career, iirc, but of course became to be known to everyone as the 6'9" point guard. Always wondered why so many kept calling him that even after seeing him so many times with a visibly taller Larry Bird who was also listed 6'9". I can believe 6'8.5" in shoes for Magic.

@SJH: all that meant was that magic was closer to 6'7" than 6'9". Doesn't mean he was sub 6'7". He may have been a hair over it too. But I see a solid 6'7" at his lowest for Magic. I think he'd edge Lebron personally.

I copy paste fro Cahrles Barkley page bottom top of page. SI mention magic closer to 6'7 it means more 200cm than 6'7. Like i say many times like lebron james look kind of 199,5cm lowest so magic johnson is 200cm that makes sense right?

He actually looks a good 8cm taller than Manning in that pic which would make him near 204cm if Manning is 196 but a legitimate 206cm peak Larry Bird always had him by atleast 3-4cm.I'm guessing 202 peak with a chance of being near 203 and around 201cm now.

He has admitted to being closer to 6ft8 than 6ft9. Annoyingly, I can't find the source; it might have been a video of some kind. He must have realized that Larry Bird is taller than him, having hanged out with him as much as he has. Interestingly, Larry Bird describes Magic as 6ft9 (cf. interview with Bill Simmons), but I am not surprised that Bird with his somewhat detached, aloof personality wouldn't notice the height difference.

6'8.5 is obviously quite obviously a shoe height. Which is why he assumed stern was almost 6'7 (in stern's high soled shoes) because he classes himself in shoes as well and calls himself 6'9.
Canson said on 22/Jun/16
Well I think this about sums it up. He's got 2" on Peyton. So no chance he's 6'9 and Peyton was reliably measured at 6'5.25. My guess is what Height said is legit as Buck is 56 years old and easily has prob lost height. He's still a legit solid 6'7 if Peyton is 6'5-6'5.25

Canson said on 22/Jun/16
@Danimal: If I had to guess peak for Howard stern may have been 6'5.25-.5 and Buck 6'7.25-.5. A 2" difference. But I doubt stern was near 6'6. I doubt he was ever over 6'5 1/2 barefoot. But you are def right about Magic! Always 1.5" shorter than Bird. Larry is legit 6'9"
Canson said on 22/Jun/16
Danimal Height and Shane all have it right. Chris is notorious for upgrading people even beyond their "billed" heights. That usually signals that wishes they were taller. Magic is 6'7 range as measured at the Olympics prob the 6'7.25 he got
Height said on 20/Jun/16
@Tom

6'8.5"-6'8.75" (204.5 cm - 205 cm) is the height range he was in shoes, depending on the pair of Converse he chose to wear.

Without shoes on, he's in the 6'7.25"-6'7.5" (201 cm - 202 cm) height range.
Arch Stanton said on 15/Jun/16
He's calling his height in sneakers I'm sure.
Shane said on 14/Jun/16
@Chris.. Magic was quite obviously never near 6'9" barefoot. For one, he measured multiple times nearly two inches below. Two, a barefoot listing in the NBA from the 80s on is essentially nonexistent unless specifically requested by player (Durant, Garnett etc)
Tom said on 6/Jun/16
I read Magic Johnson's book. He said that he is 6' 8 1/2" tall. The book was not long after he retired from the Lakers. Also Larry Bird more than one's refers to Magic as a 6" 9" point guard.

Magic's 6'9" listing was obviously not a barefoot listing. For one, those are very, very rare in the NBA and usually only given if a player specifically asks for the shorter listing (Durant, Garnett etc)
Canson said on 26/May/16
He's a bit high on here. 201 as measured at the Olympics. 6'7.25 is more realistic. But I guess close enough and better than 6-9 he's listed in the pros
Chris said on 13/May/16
Even in his 50s Magic Johnson is more than an inch taller than Lebron James (who was measure at 6'7.25 flat footed as at the combine). He's at least 6'8 even now.

Larry Bird is maybe an inch taller. But Larry Bird is also taller than 6'9. He was bigger than Kevin McCale (listed at 6'10) on the court. He's taller than Kevin McCale now.

Its obvious that Magic genuinely was 6'9 when he was drafted. And is about 6'8 now.

Bird was probably 6'10 when he was drafted. And is about 6'9 now.

End of discussion

Canson - you, and many others on this site, have a great trick. You insist absolutely everyone is 2 inches shorter than they claim......

"Jordan is really 6'4....so if Magic is 3 inches taller he must really be 6'7....and Shaq is only 6'10 because he's only 3 inches taller than Magic "

They aren't all lying about their heights. Jordan is actually pretty close to 6'6 and Magic is actually 6'9.

You can't downgrade everyone's heights to make your conspiracy theories work

I realize that this site is geared more to Hollywood than sports, but as an NBA fan, I wish someone would have accurately gauged Craig Sager's height (he is currently fighting terminal cancer). Craig is the TNT sideline reporter who stands next to NBA players during every broadcast and serves as my measuring stick to how tall some of the players actually are since the NBA tends to inflate many of the player's heights.
