5'3" seems a bit too short for her at her peak.

Do you think she might be under 5'3" nowadays, Rob? Here she is with Obama: Click Here
I'd say between 5'2 and 5'3 now
Editor Rob: yes she'll be probably 5ft 2 at most now.

I'd put Nichelle Nichols' height at 5 feet at best; I'm just under 5 feet 6 inches with flats, and the photo area at a Sci Fi convention in TX was away from the tables where she graciously greeted fans. We walked together to the photo area and I was shocked at how much shorter she was to me b/c I thought she was 5 feet 7 (model height). She is certainly not becoming 'curved back', and had excellent posture during the photo shoot :). She is definitely a classy lady. Learning this fact now has me wondering what is the true height of Nichelle's Star Trek co-stars ;).

No way she is 5ft 4 now, my friend met her the weekend at a Sci Fi convention in Milton Keynes and had her photo took with her, my friend is 5ft 1 and had the same two inch heels as nichelle and they are exactly the same height so she must have lost a few inches in old age
[Editor Rob: I saw her aswell and today she looked around 5ft 1-2 range, although I never got a photo as I knew she'd probably sit on a stool.]

Agreed with the one. She was always shorter than any of the other cast members in Star Trek (wearing the same style boots as them). She looked quite short when she stood next to 5'9" Majel Barrett in "Plato's Stepchildren". 5'4" is probably correct, even 5'3.5".

Met her three times. I agree with 5'4/5''.

Sometimes it has to do with how your body is "distributed". I have a friend who is only 5'3", but she looks taller because she has long legs. Nichelle is pretty much the same

She always seemed shorter than everyone on Star Trek. Shatner, Kelley and Nimoy were always noticebly taller than her. But if you compare her to Walter Koenig and George Takei who are both around 5'6, she wasn't that much shorter than them, so 5'4 - 5'5 sounds right.
