When I watched Patrick's astronomy programmes, I was enjoying learning about the Solar System.
However, if and when you took in his appearance, and it was rather hard not to sometimes, you noticed his lack of fashion sense and his squint, not unlike Albert Einstein, (minus the squint) for whom looking smart was anything but important; teacher Albert E had duplicates of the same style suit in his wardrobe, thus saving his valuable time when choosing what to wear.
I only saw that Patrick was tall when I saw Brian May guesting on his show, and those days, I thought Brian was six four.
NOT six four for Patrick Moore, but for Autumnal inches less!

In an interview in the evening standard in January 2007, he's asked to describe himself and he dryly says 'tall'. He is asked how his mum would describe him, and he says 'tall'. Since he was born around 1925, 6ft 1/2 in would be relatively 'taller' than he would be in today's currency, so I could buy 6 ft 1/2 in and that he stood out. You can tell he's big, seated. He's always had that slower - moving look with his gestures. But I'm going for 6 ft 1. I don't see him as the type to bother to stand up straight with all that stomach fat, even for a measurement.

Seemed like a big guy, the height mentioned would be very believable.

Great idea to add Patrick Moore! I didn't have a clue how tall he was - until today!
6ft and half-an-inch goes in the box!
