In the U.K. The overall average range is 170 to 180cm with 175cm being the mean average range.

181cm transitioning into the tall range whereas 169 cm transitions into the short range.

182cm pretty much 6ft is the start of tall range : 182cm-185cm standard tall range.

186-190 solid tall range.
-

Would 190-195 be very tall, and 195-200 be gigantic in the UK?

Seems a solid 3 inch difference there, both girls in relatively similar high heels. Although I'd say Rihanna might be dropping a fraction in posture compared to Britney.

Rob.

I got sick yesterday evening by getting nausea and by throwing up many times during this night, even though I managed to keep sleeping and sleeping until I reached 8-9 hours of sleep or so. And I’ve just felt sick, and I can’t even eat, I can only drink water, tea and juice.

But it’s so hard to eat, I don’t have the lust for it.

Mr, have you felt the same way before?
Editor Rob
Sounds like some sort of bug or food poisoning.

Whenever I get ill, I rest a lot in bed and take multivitamin for a few days and plenty of water. I tend to find I recover quicker.

Rob tricky question but I used to know this guy who mostly claims 6ft5 but he did say once he was “6ft4 1/2”.

What could that indicate his height maybe? I am guessing 6ft4 or maybe 6’3
Editor Rob
Specific claims like that could be an indication of a real measurement, however there are some people who use the fraction as a form of sleight, making their claim seemingly believable.

Rob in this video the guy at 1:13 claims 5’10 and honestly looks it with girl he’s with who claims 5’8. He told the girl his shoe size is 7 they are in the UK so that would be 7.5 U.S. Isn’t that a shock? That’s the smallest feet size I’ve ever heard of for a guy of that height.

Would be near 8US, which is small at 5ft 10.

A 6ft claim would probably get a few people being surprised, and I bet many guess you 6ft 1.

I'd claim whatever you feel comfortable with as long as you can actually measure it barefoot.

Hello Rob.

How are you doing?

My mother turned 57 years old for 3 days ago, and at her age is it common for her that she have lost 1.0 to 1.7 cm of height?

And what’s the exact height loss at the later 50s for a woman If she doesn’t have any health issues ?
Editor Rob
If you reached that age with less than 1cm loss, you've done well. Near 2cm would be a common amount lost by then.
Savagetez said on 13/Feb/23
Rob when you list somebody at 6'0 and another person at 6'0.25 how do you decide because in photos between those people if they have equal footwear and equal posture and hair length is equal than imo it's very hard to tell an quarter inch. I am 6'0.25 and have a friend who is 6'0 and a person tires to tell who was taller but couldn't tell.
Editor Rob
Sometimes I might think a person can look 6ft or 6ft 1/2 inch, and end up going with the 6ft 1/4 listing.

It's a bit like odds, if I think the chance is greater of over 6ft than 6ft flat I could go with that fraction.

And after such a intense day where I’ve walked 27 km and have taken 34.000 steps. Then in the end I can confirm that I measured a smidge under 177 cm at my extreme low after a very long day. Hi Rob. I have a funny question.

When you were around 18-30 years old, did you went out and used your spare time to get into bars and night clubs?
Editor Rob
If the pub had a pool table, I'd enjoy that more than the drinking. I rarely drank anyway, and haven't touched alcohol for years now. Also managed to bin the Soda completely last year, something I wish I'd done in 20's.

I remember going more to youth nightclub about 16-18 rather than in 20's.
James.B 172cm said on 11/Feb/23
Rob is a solid 1 inch (3cm) a bigger difference between 2 people than many would imagine?
Editor Rob
I think it can depend on head sizes.

If you have a smaller headed person who is an inch taller than a large-skulled person, the difference will seem greater than if it were 2 large-skulled people standing together.
Henrik said on 11/Feb/23
Hey Rob, I noticed that I seem to get a somewhat higher measurement when I'm placing myself more tightly against the door/wall, so that my feet and nose touch it, basically. This gets me an extra 0.5-1cm, so that I am on the dot 6ft 3 in the morning and 6ft 2 flat before bed (the loss is a whole inch throughout the day). Otherwise, I usually get 187-187.5cm by the evening and 189.5-190cm in the morning.

I'm using an 8" long box and a tape measure.
Editor Rob
8 inch box should still touch highpoint if within 1 inch of the wall, but maybe the floor isn't as level as it looks.

I would say the average is 5ft9.75 for young people in the UK, but if I'm not mistaken there is research that points to 5ft10.
In my opinion the average range would be 5ft 7.75 to 5ft 11.75 (172-182cm) so I would say you and me are in this range.

With his measurements I would claim 5ft8, although a strong 5ft 8 like Rob would top him by 1/4 - 1/8 inches.

However, considering the average 5ft9 the range would be 5ft7 - 5ft11. Is my opinion.

Rob, I had been testing my new 213 stadiometer, and at first I thought was pretty accurate, but I notice today that the white plastic doesnt feel sturdy in some areas. I mean, for example if I put the plastic on the 6ft mark it goes down several cm.... And the same for example if I try to put the plastic on the 5ft10 mark... For some reason it doesnt get attached at some marks but in others yes...

For example, between the area of 6ft1-6ft6 it feels sturdy, but for some reason the more I check it and the more I use it the wonkier it seems....

Does the same happen to you? Or its probably an error so I should sent it back.....

Thanks
Editor Rob
Yes, there are a couple of areas in which it slips, on mine it's under 5ft 6 it can creep down slowly on it's own. The same thing can happen with the Blue stadiometer too.

A general tip for some phones that can struggle to charge is that fluff/debris can get in the charging port. Blowing/cleaning it out has helped me in past.

Hey Rob, Jenny and all,

Last night on the way to the shop, I spotted a rather efficient-looking cupboard, and I thought it would be nice to have it for my DVDs.

It was still there when I came home, so I deposited my shopping and went out again. I wrote a letter to the neighbour whose house it was outside, and set about bringing it home.

I tried to lift it, but I couldn’t, so I dismantled it into three pieces and brought them home separately. The final part was so heavy that I had to shuffle it along, as I was playing the Hawkwind song ‘Who’s Gonna Win The War?’ I was very happy when it came back with it, but moving it took all the strength that I had!

The piece of furniture will house a great many of my DVDs. I haven’t put them on it yet; I’m going to wait for the go-ahead from the neighbour!

Then I fed my cats and settled down for the night.

This morning, I can’t turn my head properly! Why it’s effected me there I’ll never know!

Though of course as long as you have 5'6-5'7 (or even shorter) people claiming that, I can see how it skews the perception and makes many genuinely believe it's a short height, when in reality it's just a bit below average in most countries!

CP3, Allen Iverson, Kemba Walker, basketball players in the 5ft 11 - 6ft range who are talented.
As much as it is not the ideal height for the NBA, if you are talented (and very dedicated) you can be a professional basketball player.
Peter 180cm said on 31/Jan/23
Speaking from experience,180cm is a very versatile and ideal everyday height, unless you're planning to be a basketball player or some sort of similar athlete. With the right proportions and body weight,it can pull of near 185 to most people, and that's why it's considered the cut-off mark between average and tall.

Rob, yesterday I bought the Seca 213. I always had the idea of buying a Stadiometer, and finally I buy one!

Im going to receive it at home, next Monday so it will be interesting to check my height on it. I have been measuring myself for years in the walls of my house with the aerosol can method and my usual low is about 192.5cm, so more or less 6ft3.75 at night.

Although, I think that I would be able to have better posture with my back against the stadiometer standing straight, because I tend to bend a little bit when measuring myself facing the wall with the caan. I also was measured at a solid 193cm in a medical 6 months ago in a Seca Stadiometer.

Do you think I would be able to hit the full 6ft4 at my low in the Seca 213? I will measure myself with my back against it. Bets are accepted!

Btw Im 26 year old right now.
Editor Rob
I guess you'll find out soon enough, maybe with back against you will measure your tallest!

James, making fun of someone for being 5'8 doesn't make much sense when you think about it though... I mean, if compared to the younger population (with an average nearer 5'10), I can understand it's more the lower end of average, but again making short jokes about it is exactly like making tall jokes about someone being 6'. Do you see that happening too? And of course it would be even more ridiculous if compared to the general 5'9 average, considering that if 5'8 is a "midget", then 5'10 is a "giant", LOL!

This guy who claimed 6ft5 made fun of my height when I pointed out how tall he was. That’s understandable though since he would be very tall and 5’8 would look short from his perspective

I would bet something between 5ft 9 1/2 - 5ft 11, I need to be careful not to fall into bias, on the GH page it seems that many there are in the range 5ft 10 - 6ft 1 and that would be the page I visit the most.
However, just like in many countries' statistics the height of 6ft 1+ becomes more uncommon in CH.

I found this picture that shows any gaming console from the different generations throughout the later part of the 20th century, is there any of those gaming consoles you played a lot as a child/teenager, or even as an adult?

I remember starting to play video games in 2009, when I was barely 6 years old, and my first console I wanted was a PlayStation 2. LOL!

Even though my parents requested me to use a PlayStation 3 or a Xbox 360 instead, but I denied, since I was too naive. I actually to this day still regret that I didn’t told my parents that I wanted a PlayStation 3. Since I remember getting bullied and picked on for having a old gaming console, while my peers and classmates all or most had either a PS3 or a Xbox 360.

Well, I gotta admit this one too, I started to play 18+ year old games when I was between 8 and nine, because in 2012 I got my PlayStation 3, which also was a later time to get one, and I enjoyed that console a lot. And in 2015 I got the PlayStation 4, and I loved that one too. But today/currently I don’t use much time of playing video games anymore.
Editor Rob
Some of those consoles are going way back in the day.

I remember in my own youth I had an Atari 400, then Commodore 64.

Also my Mother used to bring home a BBC Micro from her school over the summer holidays.

Amazing to think how far technology has progressed since those days.

@ Abdul - It must be amazing to live just two hours’ train ride from another country. My Grandmother died when I was 9, so a long time ago. We flew to Germany there and back to bury her.

While taking our holiday trips to Germany, we caught a ship there and afterwards, there would be a lengthy train ride right across the Netherlands. It was enjoyable to look out of the window, and observe the windmills, of which there were many.

I’d have liked to see the fashions, but having said that, I was too young to appreciate them! There were two other girls in my class in my primary school with German Mums, and one of them had a German national costume almost exactly the same as mine, only in different colouring. We both wore our hair in plaits, which was extremely commonplace for German girls when my Mum was at school. They either wore their long hair in plaits or it was worn short. The third German girl had short hair, as did my Mum as a child.

I would so appreciate the views and different ways of dressing if I travelled nowadays, but it would hurt too much to be apart from my cats! After all, I have them every day of the year, and they give so much love in return for everything you do for them. I get a great deal from watching geographical and nature programmes on TV, and savour looking at the wildlife in my garden, even if there are only birds about. There are some big ones in my locality, and just recently, ravens have appeared!

Here’s wishing you a lovely weekend, Abdul!

We’re exactly height twins and tbh with your stats you have no problems even just claiming 5’10”. Your extreme low could even be as low as 5’9.5” for example. I can get as low as 5’9.4” on stressful work days on my extreme low and I still claim 5’10”, on here tho I am more specific and claim a weak 5’10” since this is basically a website based on height. I’m sure during the day you’re basically 5’10” or super close. Still enough to claim it. Also cause of my eye level and good posture people somehow guess me taller than I am. I think the most accurate height to claim is definitely your height a few hours after bed, any height claim after that would be unrealistic due to gravity affecting your spine way too much, that’s kind of why I don’t agree with people claiming their late afternoon or evening heights, but hey, to each their own. Don’t worry about your height too much, at the end of the day it means nothing, and plus it’s a solid height anyway! ;)

It's likely his head would be a good 10.5 so you are going to look a good inch shy of his chin.

Yeah the average head size of a 7 foot tall dude should be 10.5-10.6 range however I wonder how Andre the giant had a head that was like 11.5 inches. Do you think Andrea the giants head was unproportianal to his body?

I do think weight and head size can mess a bit with how tall guys like Andre could appear.

Hey Rob,

Do you think 5'7 is the cut off point for being acceptably short without people making jokes about it? I've noticed that guys under 5'5 seem to get jokes made at them by both males and females, always some sort of nickname like ''Wee Man, Midget or Tiny Tim'' etc. Guys at 5'6 tend to be just there, and maybe get a rare joke, then guys around 5'7-5'8 are just kind of average, it's known that they are about a smidge shorter than average but no one really notices. Then 5'9 - 5'11 is viewed as almost tall, and 6'0+ tall?

I've always found it interesting. I'm in my mid 20's, never been insecure about my height because as a 15 year old my voice hadn't even broke yet, I just wanted to grow. I was 5'0 aged 15 and 5'1 aged 17. I started puberty very late aged 17 and from the ages of 17-21 I went from 5'1 to 5'9, so I'll always be appreciative to be 5'9. I had job interviews from 17-19 when I was under 5'5 and was always treated differently, girls treated me like a child and men poked fun at me. I seen most of my school friends who knew me as ''Wee Man'' and was taller than half of them, it's a very odd feeling, even today if I bump into an old school friend it's confusion lol. But the thing is, a lot of these guys that I'm now the same height as, or even taller than.. used to poke fun of me for being short, and one of them must be about 5'7.

It makes me wonder why? What is the exact male height that just looks noticeably short rather than average height? also what advice would you have for the shorter guys that might read this?
Editor Rob
5ft 7 in the UK it is a range at which you can still get the odd comment, but nowhere near as many as a 5ft 5 man might get through life.

I am 5ft8 and my younger brother who is 6ft range used to often make fun of me for my height calling me names like “midget”, “little man” and “short arse” etc….however the insults might have been just out of anger if I annoyed him.

Also when I was skinny I would quite regurley get made fun of for my height at bars/social situations (me being autistic could have had something to do with it as well). The short comments have stopped now since I have been working out with weights which is a good thing and I do think my proportions short legs/long torso can make me shorter than I am.

Believe it or not at 5ft8 you can be made fun for your height

I've seen cases of guys between 18-20 years gaining up to 3 inches, it's rare but it's possible.

I do expect to grow a little more over the next upcoming years. My dad’s peak height was 6’1.5, so there’s no way to exceed his height, hahah. I wish I was as tall or taller than his peak, but thank God I am fine at my current height, so that’s fine.
And since I’ve been 18 I’ve grown 3 cm or so, and I am currently at Tanner stage 4.5, so I think I will grow another 2-4 cm more hopefully + fixing my anterior pelvic tilt and improving my posture and everything. Then in total I could maybe end up around 180 cm.

Not wrong, and I am at Tanner stage 4.5 , so according to my own prediction then I could grow another 2 cm to 3 cm more, plus fixing my posture and fixing my anterior pelvic tilt, which overall in total could make me end up at 180 cm before I turn let’s say 30.

Hello, Miss Sandy. Thank you so much for writing back to me, I really found your message interesting and very informative, but unfortunately I am only going to visit Flensburg this time, but of course during the future when the summer season gets closer, then i might give Germany a visit too, since i can for a cheap amount of money travel there with the train, or taking a traveling bus, it takes roughly 2 hours or so to reach Germany from my city, so i can easily keep visiting Germany, since i love the country so much that i even consider it as a mother and fatherland for me, the couture itself is culturally very similar to danish culture, so i really love the nice beautiful german atmosphere. And I am sorry to hear that you lost your grandmother, I feel bad now. But yeah, I love the German modern buildings, since they take my attention for even taking pictures or recording videos of them. I remember going to Hannover back in march/april 2012, and the city itself was more modern than Aarhus where i live. And yeah, I appreciate your message. So thank you, Dear Miss. If a shoe sole bubble pops on the air max 720s or 270s, would they give you less height than before?

I couldn't say if they would lose much, not worn them long enough.

I cycle through a lot of sneakers because the longer you leave them stored in a box the higher the chance with passing years the glue fails.

A bit of advice - buy and wear sneakers, don't let them sit in a box!

Dear Abdul,

What a delightful surprise to hear from you, so thank you!

I’d really love to go to Germany nowadays, because at the time that I did, when I was 7,8,9 and 10, I didn’t appreciate old buildings and the history surrounding my Mother’s home town of Hamburg. As a little girl, I enjoyed my time spent at a park called something like ‘Pflanzen und Blumen’, which means ‘Plants and Flowers’. It had apparatus for kids to climb about on, and my Mum took pictures of us kids. I didn’t even take in the beauty of the flowers those days, but I do remember that all the squirrels were red! 🐿 In my part of England, they are all grey, and plenty of them. 😀

We went for trips on the river Rhine, which I remember when we went to Cologne when I was 10, to see my Uncle, Aunt and 5 male cousins. My Grandmother died the year before, and we went to Germany in December, and saw what Christmas was like there at that time of year, albeit in extremely sad circumstances. I only saw white Christmas fairy lights, and to this day, I prefer the cheerful, colourful ones.

Travelling by tram was rife in Germany back then, but now they have tramlines in England too, which was not the case when I was little.

If I could go to Germany again, I’d pay far more attention to the old buildings and the German history. They say that youth is wasted on the young, and in my case, it was certainly true! 😂😂😂

Thank you so much for writing, Abdul. I hope you have a lovely time in Germany! Although still young, you’re not a child, and have the curiosity and enthusiasm to enjoy the German surroundings that my impish little mind lacked!

All my best to you!

Sandy XXX 😀👍🏼

Miss Sandy.

Hello. dear Miss.

How are you doing? It’s been a while since I’ve been quoted your username, but I actually wanted to ask a question that you might know very much of, 😀😀. So in the upcoming weeks I am actually going on a day trip to Flensburg, which is 2 hours to 3 hours away from my city, Aarhus, and I’d like to know of which things you love about Germany, since I might plan to visit any location that my acquaintances can recommend.

So that was my message, miss. I hope you are enjoying your time, and I am sorry to hear that you have been through injuries, I feel bad anytime when I read that you have experienced anything harmful.

Best regards, Abdul.

@dreus it's closer to 6'3, it's ok to round up and claim 6'3 at that height, most won't tell 1 cm difference. If it's into 188 range at a low that's more like strong 6'2 or 6'2.5.

Hey Rob, what would you list me with these stats? I am 5ft 10.5 first thing in the morning (with full 8hr sleep or more), 5ft 9.875 in the afternoon, and 5ft 9.75 by evening. On a day when i'm pretty hydrated and not sleep deprived of course.

You'd probably look 5ft 10ish in person, so I'd go with that listing based on those stats.

Hello Rob, Jenny and all you great visitors!

Last night I had a lovely cab driver, who took me to the shop and back. I asked him his height, saying that I comment on Celebheights, and he’s 6ft4, possibly the tallest taxi driver I’ve ever met. Next time he’s my driver - his name is Moe - I’ll ask him where he hails from. He reckoned my height suited me. I told him about my cats and he said that I have a mighty lot of them! 🐈

That’s all for now! 😁

Editor Rob
If I were to claim a morning height, I'd be qualifying it like: "5-9 out of bed / 5-9 first thing / 5-9 in the morning".

@Daniel Lee : hmm honestly speaking, beside people that are very interested in height, people usually claim a certain height and they never tell if its in the morning or evening they got measured. i guess it is certainly not an out of bed height most people claim because only a few measure themselves a few minutes after coming out of bed.

Then I must to think I'm a legit 5'8.

I have a taller appearance than a classic 5'8 guy. Could you notice the difference between us if you see me in person?
Editor Rob
For people close in height I would generally try to guage if the person had a noticeably different eyelevel like 4.2 or 5 inch.

Now that can be hard to tell if there is volume to the person's hair.

189.5 is technically closer to 2.5 than 2.75 but I might tend towards the positive and go with 2.75

@Rob yeah there they do like the same, however Austin’s footwear is much more thicker from what I remember. Pretty sure he was in some extremely thick boots. I wouldn’t say he’s even 6 feet imo, could def be wrong but I have him 5’11.5

What is your estimate For Dominik Mysterio?

He looks 5'11 to 6'0.

Looks around 9 to 10 inches taller than 5'2 father.

With Seth Rollins he looks around a weak 6ft

Dominik looks 5'11 with 5'8 Rhea Ripley

In the judgement day he can looks around a solid 5'11 With 5'9.25Finn Balor. He can look close to 5 inches shorter than Priest. He looks 3 to 3.5 inches taller.

My final guess is he 5'11.5 Dominik can look super short is posture in pic and on tv is awful. But I will say 5'11.5 although I would say 5'11.25 is also possible

What would you say?
Editor Rob
Pretty much within that 5ft 11 to 6ft range is possible.
Savagetez said on 18/Jan/23
I would say Austin Theory is like 6'0.5 plus or minus 1/8-1/4. Anywhere in that 6'0.25-6'0.75. Not the full 6'1 but looks over 6'0. Rob do you agree with what I said?

Can depend on foot length, but in all 3 cases, if shoe size was 8-9US then I would expect 5 inches from them.

can you also help me to guess the height of Matt Hughes. He was a former professional mixed martial arts fighter. I remember that I once saw his online height to be listed as 5’9 on the dot on Sherdog.com, but do you think he could be a little below that mark, since he have been through several injuries?

I think he could have been 5’9.25 at his peak, and today he is probably around 5’8.5.
Editor Rob
Not sure if he's lost height, but could pass for near 5ft 9

Hi Rob a 5ft 10 guy said to me the other day “ what are you 5.10 - 5.11, you are average like me “ they were his words and didn’t believe when I was honest and said 182cm (which is my height at night on the dot) in a mirror on level ground it was blatantly obvious that I was taller by a fair amount
Editor Rob
Being within an inch can easily make people feel roughly similar height.
When you add in eyelevel differences, both in terms of measurable and relative - shorter person looking up a bit, taller person looking down - it's easy to appreciate why some guesses will be wrong.
Peter 180cm said on 17/Jan/23
@ Gian 181cm I consider myself above average around the younger generation and tallish generally. Solid height on every situation.

@Peter 180cm
Got it, I get 5'11 3/8 in the early evening on lazy days and I can maintain 5'11 1/4 with no issues but I don't use those days as a yardstick for complaints, I'd say a realistic notion of my reach height is 5'11 5/8 to 5'11 1/8 (181.9 - 180.6 cm).
Do you consider yourself tall, tall or above average where you live?
Here the average varies between 5'8-5'9, so 5'11 is decent and seen as tall by many.
5'11 manages to hold up well even on the new generation, although I would consider 5'11.5 - 6'0 as the start of the high in this case.

@Maahin Chowdhury and Rob
I would give 5'10.5-75 for João Felix.
Consider putting him and Gavi in the future, promising young players.

@Jdubbz- my autocorrect screwed up my question, I meant to say if the 6’ guy head goes up to a taller guys chin and mouth area what would be the difference, there is an old friend I’m trying to guess his height and that was the way the mirror reflected when we spoke

Gotcha. That would still be way more than a 5” difference. Bottom of chin means he’s around 6’10, mouth means around 6’8. Somewhere in between would mean he’s 6’9. That’s assuming you mean your scalp reaches those areas, if you mean your hair reaches his chin or mouth, then add however much height your hair adds to those estimates.

For reference, I’m a tiny bit over 6’6, and a 6 foot guy is near the bottom of my nose (maybe a half inch above). Your friend sounds like he is clearly taller than me.

it's an ok claim, i asked to check if my 181-82cm claims were ok, sometimes i say "about 182cm" too.
But overall I claim 181cm, in the imperial system I would go with "a little over 5'11" or "about 5'11.5".

@Peter 180cm
I agree, that's why I claim 5'11 1/4, but I also think 5'11 1/2 is a possible claim and also the maximum I would claim. Your claim is fine, honestly I would go for 180cm, about 181cm is also valid as you wake up at 5'11 1/2 and you should be 5'11 1/8 by the end of the morning, right?

No, there's no change in height.

I have been doing a very basic routine for a few weeks with Jenny to at least stabilise her height and thankfully she is following it. Whether she can regain a small fraction I don't know. Her upper curvature is quite obvious really.

I think 5'11 1/4 is very solid, but if a celebrity with those measurements would you say you're being honest?
Editor Rob
It's not a bad claim as it's probably very close to what the person might get at a pre mid-day clinic appointment.

@Gian I would go with 182 cm claim as 181.6 cm can be rounded up to 82.
Peter 180cm said on 11/Jan/23
@Gian 181cm You should consider claiming a height 1/4 of an inch over your lowest, maybe roughly 1cm. In your case,5'11.5 is not a bad claim at all. I'm 5'11.5 out of bed and my lowest is just over 5'10.5 but usually around 5'10 3/4 which i round up to 180cm. In imperial I'd say 5'11 or "almost 5'11" which covers it 100%.

If the weight loss was combined with an exercise routine which improved posture, there is a chance.

Do you think that busting a gut when measuring your height is a valid measurement? And when you bust a gust, how many mm can you measure more than when you stand normal ?

For some they may find an extra cm or so could be possible, but others will find not much. They stand tall and then try to force it and barely get 2-3mm more.

I didn’t managed to sleep perfect today, I slept for only ‘7 hours’ and my sleeping positions weren’t the best. Through the 7 hours I woke up a few times, and I was laying on my back, stomach, at the sides. My bad sleep occurred me to not measuring at my full morning height, but I measured 178.4 cm. Normally I don’t measure my morning height very often, but I think it should be a few mm taller, since my low is 177.0 cm, and sometimes after long days of long walks my low height can get done to 176.5 to 177.0 cm. But I claim 5’9 3/4 now.

Usually will look at 8.5UK (9.5US). If the style is slightly narrow, I might end up with 10US.

Interesting sounds like that’s the average range for ur height. When I was 5’10.5 at 14 my shoe size Was 10. Then when I grew a couple inches taller it was 10.5

@Kylo I think thats a good 2 inch difference, looks 2.5 inches to me. Guy on the left looks 6'1.5, or maybe the 6'4 guy is a bit over that
Progking184 said on 2/Jan/23
@Billythetreesurgeon thats a pretty low eye level. Mine seems to be about 5.25 inches which is below average but not that rare, though 5.75 eye level im not sure about. Maybe yours is really more like 5'6.5?

I had a pair like that years ago, I know that after a good few months of wear they hovered about 0.6 inch range.

Thanks Rob. I found out why I was feeling so dizzy and faint all the time. My blood pressure is 199/107, so I’ve been told to take it easy. That’s higher than my Mum’s 160 over something-or-other, and she was warned to wind down and avoid stress or she could have a stroke. I was also told that I could have a stroke. Fortunately, my Mum lived to 85. They gave her tablets for her high blood pressure, but I have yet to have them prescribed.

I came home to a dead cat and a drunken brother.

@ Rapha I know. I look about 1.83 in the morning counting hair and about 181.5 during the day so it's not a bad claim. Still better than rounding up or measuring in shoes.

Hi Rob if I’m 182cm at night with a 5ft 6 eye level would I look similar to Davood Ghadami's height? If I were to ever see him in person? Regards

Yes, it might be hard to spot a difference.

Hi Rob, Jenny and all you lovely Visitors to Celebheights!

I came out of hospital yesterday, having been admitted on the 28th, my doctor having told me that there was far too much wrong with me for her to prescribe my medication over the phone.

I had nearly 12 hours to wait before I was seen properly, and had many tests, including the inevitable blood tests, X-rays and a CT scan. During the 12 hour wait, a 37-year-old girl noted my Hello Kitty coat and cat slippers and said, “I’m gonna stick with you!”

Named Safia, she was quite simply THE funniest person I’ve ever met in my whole life. She was very loud 🤣 and I doubted that I’d be able to hack it, but hack it I did, and I can’t remember when I laughed so much, let alone in a public place. Firstly, we went out for a smoke, and she was using one of those inhalers, which smelled strange, while I had a normal cigarette. A couple of Police officers came over to us - we were laughing hysterically! - and asked us what we were smoking, whereafter we established that it was nothing illegal.

Then I showed Safia some comedy clips on my phone and there was an outpouring of laughter. Then we went out for another smoke and Safia decided that she urgently needed some crisps. We asked for directions for a food machine, and found it after not much ado. The two officers we had met earlier along with two others, were sitting in the same room as the vending machine and as Safia only had a £20 note, and I’d left my purse at home, she asked the Police (2 lady officers and 2 gentlemen), if they had change for a £20 note, but they didn’t and neither did the receptionist.

So very quick on the update, Safia was coming out with comedy quotes from the sketches I’d shown her. Of course, I joined in, and the Police were laughing their heads off. My new friend looked thoroughly at the machine and touched it, saying, “There has to be a way into this machine, but the Police are here!” The laughter increased many decibels; It was so cheeky, and by that time, I had tears rolling down my face.

Anyway, we went back to A and E, and after some more fun, and looking at pictures of my cats, Safia went out for another smoke break. I was too tired, so
decided to try and get some kip. The chairs were so hard and uncomfortable that I couldn’t relax but I tried to make a pillow out of the flimsy blue hospital blankets. While relaxing, a hand started stroking me. It was Safia, who said, “I’m BACK!”

She added that I was her cat and she was stroking me. I looked up. “That’s nice….!” I added, giving her a hug.

Shortly afterwards, my name was called out. I had a bit of a wait, and Safia strolled off and helped herself to some biscuits and two cups of coffee. I couldn’t refuse the coffee, even though I loathe the stuff, as it was so thoughtful of my friend. It was the third cup I’d had in my entire life and what a huge one it was too!

I was told that I was to be admitted to the Frailty ward, and Safia asked if she could sit with me! Imagine the fracas there’d have been? 😂😂😂 When we hugged and said goodbye, Safia said she loved me, and I said that I loved her too. She gave me her number and we will keep in touch. Meeting her made my Christmas Season a memorable one.

She is one girl I will never, ever forget…. 😁🎄🐘

@Editor Rob 1.70m seems to reach just under my eyebrows. Does that make me look my height or slightly taller? Also, mirrors are rather bad at guessing height accurately,it seems like 6ft is just over the top of my hair.
Editor Rob
I doubt folk are going to be guessing you shorter based on how high 170cm reaches.
Peter 180cm said on 31/Dec/22
@ Jawilder Most guys your height probably claim 6'1-6'2 anyway. I'm 4cm shorter than you and the number of times people have guessed me over 1.80 by a fair bit is not surprising, I've heard 1.85 quite a few times as well as 1.83-so much exaggeration.

Hi Rob, I hope you’ve had a great time, and I actually have a good question about a interesting topic.

How do you manage to keep your height with no any loss at closer to 50?

Do you train physically by lifting weights and do some stretching and hanging on a bar or doing some cardio or yoga??

I wonder how you can keep your height if you don’t train.

@Abdulrahman. Rob is in his mid 40s so that is certainly not an old age. I would say that most men start to lose some height after age 60 and not before and some even after that.
-

Well. It’s very subjective to say that most lose height after they turn 60 or something like that. If most doctors provide information that the average male lose a fraction after a decade of their 40th birthday, then it should be more credible to believe in.
Editor Rob
In 50's I think it will be easier to spot any first loss.

I have now managed for the last few days to put a simple posture routine together for Jenny to help her back. I'm doing it with her every day, primarily to ease her back pains. Whether it's possible to regain a small fraction I don't know, but I'll check her height in 3 months.

Rob,I noticed my nose(lower part) level is about 6 inches under my height. Is it a good indicator when assesing height through nose level and 6 inch?
Editor Rob
6-6.5 is quite a typical range. 7 inches if the person has a larger than average head (near 10 inch)

@ Rapha Yes i do. I used to claim 1.79 as it is my lowest height but then I thought maybe i was downplaying myself a little so I'm sticking with 1.80. Sometimes I'll say 1.81 as i can look that height as well.

@Peter. 181 is still a height you can measure barefoot 👍

Hey Rob, I hope you spent a merry Christmas. I just finished watching The Bear, what about a page for Ayo Edebiri? While she can pull off looking 5'7, other times I'm not so convinced she's quite tall, especially after looking at more pics of her... Maybe 5'6-5'7?
P.S. Rhetorical question of course, but did you take a look at the names I've last mentioned? 🙂
Editor Rob
I could see over 5ft 6 like 6.5.
Not managed to look at other names yet.

I am indeed a legit 5’9.5, since I measured just over 5’9.5 after being out for 8 hours. I measured technically right on 176.5 cm, and by standing my maximum tallest I got just under 176.7, so 176.6 cm.

Tarif would be claiming 6’11 if he was ur height so bravo for being honest.
-

I appreciate your kind words about me.

And yeah, Tarif is just dramatizing his fantasy of believing into that he is around 7’0 tall.

Hey Rob a question what's fraction different between a sandal and normal shoes or elevator shoes? Is it one or more than one or less than? For example if i wear sandal and my friend wear elevator shoe and we both equal in pic so is he shorter than me or not? Thanks!!
Editor Rob
Sandals vary, but on average I feel less than an inch, whilst for normal shoes, close to an inch is a quite typical average.

I don’t know why so many 6’1.5 guys get guesses at 6’3 so often…
Literally every person I meet guesses me at 6’3 I may as well start claiming it. I think it may be because my proportions are pretty average for my height. I know if I was half an inch taller my shoulder width, head size, wingspan would be different than it is now.

Rob,

I wake up at 181.3 then drop to 180.4 an hour later is this normal shrinkage or more than normal?
Editor Rob
The first couple of hours really is when a good chunk is lost, so if you are shrinking 2-2.5cm, then near 1cm isn't uncommon for say 90 minutes out of bed.
