I had an acquaintance who dated him in the mid 80's. I went to a couple of parties that he also attended. Stood right next to him. He, indeed, is 5'2".
Disproportionately large head. Also, he's extremely shy & quiet and has the most beautiful, even toned, creamy skin I've ever seen on a guy (and no, he doesn't wear foundation - only a little eyeliner!)

I'm 5'3. I stood by his wax figure at madame toussands in vegas, and he was a little shorter than me. When I looked down he was wearing the boots.I would say definitely under 5 ft w/out shoes...probably 4'11. However, what stood out to me was not his height, but how tiny he was in general...very thin limbs. I am 4ft 11in and shoot, it don't matter to me how tall Prince is. He has such a talent that can blow most people away! He is so mysterious! I've been a fan for years. I'm not sure which project that is. The outside projects I can think of are New Power Generation, Vanity 6, Appollonia 6, The Revolution, Wendy and Lisa, The Family, Mazarati, Tamar, Madhouse, 94 East, and of course The Time. And he wrote for acts like Sheila E., Sheena Easton, Sinead O'connor, Jill Jones, Candy Dulfer, The Bangles, Stevie Nicks. Maybe you're referring to something specifically 90's. I liked "Around The World In a Day" too, and it produced some popular stuff like "Rasberry Beret", "Pop Life", "America". Its just that some ppl couldn't understand the timing. They were looking for a follow up to "Purple Rain" and considered this to be a very radical turn in a different direction. And though I think Morris Day is underrated, his ghost writer for his group The Time was Prince who used the names "Alexander Nevermind" and "Jamie Starr". I have been a Prince fan since the early eighties and have always been a loyal fan of his and that will never ever change. i love him and do not care one jot about how tall or small he is. Who gives a f... anyways? It's his massive talent that is important to me. He is a musical genius and has always been way ahead of his time with his music but most ignorant people do not get that and just class him as a weirdo or gay or soemthing else. Ignorance is bliss they say.... well, not in this case. Just let him get on with his life and as long as he is happy doing what he does and doesn't hurt anybody. he will always be my favourite artist in the whole world and my favourite song of all times is and always will be'PURPLE RAIN'. My mother met the artist backstage at a festival in the late 70s, they spent about 15 minutes talking whilst she prepared the costumes for the next performance. He's really nice and soft spoken, and not haughty in the least, but this crap about 5'2" is just that - crap. When I met him backstage he came to my shoulder right a little higher than where my mother comes to and she's only 4'11". He is a very short man. He had on 6" heels then. Actually,now that I recall,my friend has a photo of Prince signing for him.they arnt posing,but both are in the picture and it was at his height(pun?) during the PURPLE RAIN period.thats the only photo I saw or heard of.I climbed on top of a huge truck once in 1991,cause I was threatened, and snapped him coming out of concert NPG period,at a club.the picture made the papers and tabloids.a small handful of my photos did.
