The original Ghost Busters is a film where he looks to be barely hitting the 6'1" mark, a solid inch under Ramis and no taller than Aykroyd. Something like The Spy Who Knew Too Little, he can look near 6'2". There's a good chance he be 6'1.25" at peak still.

I agree he generally looked more 186-187cm than 185cm at peak, but Rob is right, he was never 6'2 range, look at him with Chevy Chase who has now said he was "like 6ft3.5" at the time.
I do think we should bring him up to 186, though. Rob says he might have occasionally wore lifts, which, if true would explain him looking closer to 6'2 at times. I've always thought he looked 186-7, Rob had him 6'1, but you could argue 6ft1.5, the 1.25 would be a good compromise. He was marginally taller than Akroyd, who certainly wasn't under 185.(If he was, that is bad news for Jimmy Fallon!)

He looked about 3 cm taller than Edward Norton in 2012, both wearing regular dress shoes. Bruce Willis in comparison looked at least 6 cm shorter than Bill and 3 cm shorter than Norton. I'd guess them at 185, 182 and 179 respectively. Norton stood a little behind in a few shots though, so near 183 is possible.

He is 63 years old he is clearly taller than john goodman who is listed 185. Looks about 2-3 cm taller. But goodman because of his weight is probalb yonly 184 now but that makes murray 186,5 and if goddman is 185 then murray is almost 188. At the age of 63 he may have lost 1 cm. I think Peak height should be 187. Not a full 188 but close to it and now strong 186. There is something with his posture in the neck that makes me think about the alexander technice. SO he probably havent lost more than 1 cm if he even have lsot anything. But eitherway. Lowest i can see os 186. And on a good day 187 For now!! In peak maybe 0,7 cm taller ore something like that

i think damon is also listed too high. there is too many eveidence that he isn''t 5'10 or even close to it. murray isn't taller than 6'1 and there is a possibilty that he is slighty shorter nowadays.

Rob, what convinced to downgrade Murray? Back in Ghostbusters, I really think he comes off as no more than 6'1", he is shorter than Ramis and no taller than Akyroyd or Hudson. However, I don't know if he's worked on improving his posture, but he just seems taller on screen and in pictures more recently (Rushmore/Lost in Translation onward). Also, I have a family friend who met him and noted how much taller he seemed in person, 6'2" or 6'3" they thought. Rob, what convinced to downgrade Murray? Back in Ghostbusters, I really think he comes off as no more than 6'1", he is shorter than Ramis and no taller than Akyroyd or Hudson. However, I don't know if he's worked on improving his posture, but he just seems taller on screen and in pictures more recently (Rushmore/Lost in Translation onward). Also, I have a family friend who met him and noted how much taller he seemed in person, 6'2" or 6'3" they thought. I would say there is 4 or so cm between him and Norton. In my mind Norton is a 182 cm guy, and Willis can look 178-179 cmrange these days. Murray could actually be 186 cm. I don't see a 2 cm difference between Norton and Murray. So if Murray is really 185, Norton is 181 cm range.

I watched again some of his movies and I have to change my mind, the guy seems to be a bit above 6'1 in truth.
He looked pretty tall in Scrooged, definitely 6'1.25, clearly taller than legit 6'0 John Glover.
He was an hair taller than 6'1 Aykroid but not quite as tall as 6'1.5 Ramis in Ghostbusters.
Plus, he seems to hold his own very well also next to the huge Tim Robbins (who is nothing less than 195cm).

6'5" for Murray??? Come on, he's still in the average rage of human height. He looked only 2 inches taller than Woody Harrelson who is 5'11" at his peak. So the 6'1" claim could be right for Murray. He even doesn't look tall.

6ft2-6ft3 is laughable. 6ft2 isn't impossible during his prime. I think there is a fair chance he's still between 6ft1 and 6ft2.

6'1 is accurate, just watching ghostbusters scene where sigourney is in normal flat shoes and him, and he has at least 2 inches on her standing straight

Haven't seen that film in a while James. Bill did look quite tall in it as far as I remember. I don't think he's under 6ft1 though. I think he could've been 6ft2 or very close at his peak.

I was at a wee heroes event and Stephen Tobolowsky was there, he had a few good tales about Bill Murray. Anyway, he himself said that Bill is a tall man, "like me...6-3, 6-4!"

In his early movies he did look around 6ft2. Stripes, Caddy Shack, Ghostbusters. He was the same height as Harold Ramis is 6ft2 minimum. Bill Murray could've been 6ft2.

In Meatballs,which was made in 1978 and released in 1979,he didn't really look over 6'1 at all. He actually looked above-average tall there and yet 2 years later he looked tall in Stripes. So he wore lifts in those combat boots,or maybe he grew some more at the age of 30.

Candy was definately 6ft2 if not 6ft3. Murray I'd say was a strong 6ft1 at his peak.

I doubt Candy was quite 6'2" but maybe 6'1" and change. Flaherty looked taller but he's much thinner. Levy was at least 3 - 4 inches shorter.
If I recall, a tiny little Martin Short did some stuff with them too. They played it up by having him lie in a bed with fake legs about a foot long. Genius.

Apparently Belushi got involved in it, and Chevy listed what he considered everyone's height to be, just to prove the difference in height between the guys: Belushi at 5ft7, Murray at either 6ft or 6ft1, and himself at 6ft3.5.
I have to say that all of these heights seem spot on to me, especially if considered as barefoot heights.
