Icelandic Strongman and Actor who played Gregor Clegane (The Mountain) in Game of Thrones. He claimed to be 6ft 9, 6ft 8, 205cm and in January 2015 he mentioned his weight was "around 172kg" (379 pounds), in 2019 weighed close to 200kg and in 2020 has been as heavy as 205-6kg.

Depending of measure, but imo the afternoon Hafthor is like 6'7,30" (~201,4).
I found this recording when he was measured 6'8 - probably afternoon because i doubt these meetings occur in the evening.
He's wearing here AF1's as I see or really similiar shoes, they give something like 1,2 inch (3cm).
We can count measurement error and maybe losing more height by Hafthor because lifting weighs, so we can surely tell he's not under 6'7 what everybody knows but am not sure if he's above 6'7,5...
So dunno, i would put him between 6'7 and 6'7,5.

That man with Hafthor is George Bell he was at one time the tallest man in the US at 7'8", unlikely he's still 7'8" at his age but still above 7'5" it seems.

That one was a bit dodgy, he is so much shorter and trying to eyeball the tape. I believe Thor's recent claim, that when he played ball they measured him 6'9" in footwear and that he is 6'8" barefoot. Very close to Rob's listing and looks legit.

Hafthor is around 6'8" in the afternoon, 6'8.5" in the morning, and a bit under like 6'7.75" on a normal day. I don't know whether he can lose upto a whole inch if he lifts heavy things, by the way.

Wow, Hafthor has a very very low shoulder level. He's an inch and a half taller than me, but his shoulders are 2" lower than mine, and I by no means have a small head or a short neck. Crazy.

So Thor is now 330 odd lbs. That's much healthier and more reasonable I think given his height and strength. Not the best way to measure him in honesty though.

I think a question I wonder is whether over he last decade he's actually lost a fraction.
At his age the idea of losing any height seems almost preposterous, but I might actually be thinking that he could have lost a small bit. I mean think about the toll that weight 400+ pounds consistently would put on your body. Also Strongman competitions and all the extremely high intensity physical activities that he has participated in have certainly affected his spine. Plus, there were several wrestlers who did lose height in their 30’s such as Haystacks and Andre the Giant.
I would be willing to bet Thor Measured 6’8” in the afternoon a decade ago.

Hey Rob. There is a recent video on Eric Kanevsky's channel, in which he does measuring and weighing some bodybuilder stars. In the 3rd part of the video he measures Hafthor 6'8 in his shoes. I think you should look at that, it probably means he is 6'7.

Editor Rob99% of the photos are at conventions in the UK, with mostly blue backdrops, a smaller proportion had darker or white backgrounds.
It might work at some smaller events, but at bigger comic cons the organisers would have banned me if I tried anything like that.

205-206 kg is very very dangerous to weigh at his height of 6’8.
I know a guy who suffered a heart attack years ago when he weighed 210 lbs at 6ft. His doctor ordered him to lose weight and even weigh he got down to 173 pounds his doc told he needed to LOSE another 5 pounds and get down to 168 lbs.
205-206 kg is very very dangerous to weigh at his height of 6’8.

I agree with Arch Stanton I beleive 205 cm in the morning. Hafthor even said himself that he wakes up at 6 ft 9 and is 6 ft 8 in the evening. And from the pictures I have seen Haftor is taller then Tom Stoltman in similar footwear.

Mateusz Kieliszkowski is listed on different strongman sites in the 194-196 cm range but I personally give him 195 cm because he has around 4 cm on Big Z (listed 190,5 cm).

So, judging by the photos posted above, there is a 6 cm difference between Mateusz and Thor and a 2 cm difference between Thor and Brian, but since both are leaning they could drop a little height ; so if they would correct their posture I believe their heights would be:

also i think his head is on the smaller size for his height. expesially for a guy that have been taking growth hormone for almost 10 years. i think his head was a little smaller than mine and i consider myself to be a weak 197 that can go down to 196,5 on my absolute low after heavy workout.

I have a friend that is 204 cm and i actually thought that they felt to be the same height. Never under 203 cm. After watching some footage of him with Larry Wheels, he's looking about 6'7" flat. His exhibition with Steven Ward more or less confirms that.
Then again, his height might fluctuate enough to give him 6'6 and change at his lowest, and a bit over 6'7" at the most.

In one of the recent Instagram pictures, with boxer Steven Ward, who is listed at 6'2 - it looks like eyebrows versus top of the head, which would make Hafthor about 6'6. it looks like no more than a 4 inch difference. I see that he maybe can have some height in reserve and be able to stretch to 6'7 and something, but after seeing them together I really doubt Hafthor is over 6'7.5

The promoter at World's Strongest Man and Giants Live (Colin Bryce) always inflated and still does inflate the strongmen's heights. He has a very Vince McMahon type of personality and business mindset to make already big men bigger than life itself. None of the guys are as tall as they are listed (billed). 6'4" Mark Felix is actually 6'1". Eddie Hall is shorter than 6'0"-6'1" Laurence Shahlei (who is at least 2" shorter than 6'3" Zydrunas Zavickas who was once listed at 6'2). The list goes on and on. Terry Hollands who is billed at 6'6" and even 6'7" at times is only 6'3"-6'4" in reality. Mariusz Pudzianowski was a legit 5'11", not 6'1", Svend Karlsen who used to get billed at 6'2" and even 6'3" at times is a legit 5'11"-6'0" guy (slightly edged out Mariusz). @recapa parental height predictors are BS man. My mum is 5’0 (measured 152.5) and my dad was 6’1.5 (claimed 186.5). I was supposed to be about 176. I’m 188 or 189
@recapa parental height predictors are BS man. My mum is 5’0 (measured 152.5) and my dad was 6’1.5 (claimed 186.5). I was supposed to be about 176. I’m 188 or 189

As for hafthors height does anybody have a current weight estimate so we can determine how much height he loses through the day? I am not the best at guessing weight, but if he is all of 452 pounds than he must lose 1.25 inches, although I am not sure if he really weighs that much.

@Vincent,so apparantly i did those calcluation thingie that predict your height according to you parents heights who are 6ft2.5 and 6ft respictvly and it came up for me with 6ft6 as an average ,intersting.you seem that ended up in the normal range of the expected height while your brother ended up in the extreme side.

I think Thor always looks like an inch taller than Brian Shaw, who looks at least 4.5-5.5 inches taller than Eddie Hall who is about 6ft 2. Therefore I would put Brian at around 6ft 6 1/2 - 6ft 7 1/2. I totally think that Thor would be around 6ft 8 or 6ft 8 1/4 by those estimates.

Already looks to have lost over 50 pounds since May. 350 pounds would be a good weight for him. Eddie Hall seems to want to stay over that which is stupid for his height.

Ronnie Coleman said you have to be "talented" to lift 501 kg. But Thor could barely lift 300 kg when he was getting into it, seriously dangerous technique too. Adding 201 kg to that is largely hard work but what I guess what Coleman is that he is genetically gifted, in that he has a greater potential than virtually anybody else.

I think his grandpa was taller than both. Maybe 6'9-6'9.5.

myself, yes i have a photo with him. we also nedd to keep in mind that he have workout really heavy before our photos with us. hes not gonna show himself without a pump and as big as possible. i still think he is atleast 203 cm and could be 204 and measured 205 early. he would not make me looks small if he was just about 6 cm taller.

The scary thing Rob is that it's almost the weight of two Jason Momoa's!! Even 18-19 stone is big, a lot of the bulked up taller rugby players are that, I can't even comprehend how somebody could be 25 stone let alone 32 stone! 206 kg is 32 stone 4!!!

Yes, I understand.. I don’t speak English very well. The only thing i meant is that a 5 inches head-eye range isn’t small in my opinion. I see various pic and videos of guys like this size who have a small head-eye range than hafthor, more similar to a normal size guys.

Honestly a 5 inches forehead is huge in my opinion... I think there are people of this height who don't have so big forehead. Like matt Morgan who believe is more 4, 4.5 inches or Robert maillet

Clearly doesn't like cameras, seems to treat it as a chore rather than something he enjoys. For all his hype he's really rather wooden and dull. Eddie Hall on the other hand was a great surprise, I thought their personalities would be the other way around! Best of luck to him lifting 501 kg though, that's a very extreme weight to lift, even if it's in his own gym.

Editor RobNot huge, but might be near 5 inch. He actually doesn't have that big a head for his height, so even though he has a lot of width and muscle, in person he still pulls off looking extremely tall.

He is easily 6’8 he’s deffo at least a solid 12 inches taller than you possibly 13 and I don’t give a what kind of foot wear he’s wearing unless he’s got lifts which I highly doubt this dude is a solid foot taller than you barefoot no problem
