How tall was Hardy Krüger

Today he might clear 5’11.25 out of bed, and being just over 5’10.5 at his low.

I’d say about 180 could be a good estimate for his height.

5’10 3/4 could be a decent listing.

He might have been 180.5-181.5 cm at his peak, but unfortunately not anymore.

I could see 181cm for Krüger when up against a shrinking James Stewart in The Flight of the Phoenix. Krüger could also occasionally pull off 181cm with Wayne in Hatari! However, I do have trouble seeing Krüger as anything over or under 5'11", all things considered; at peak he was right on the 5'11" mark, outshouted by strong 5'11" actors David Niven and Stanley Baker, but still taller than very weak 5'11" Maximilian Schell.

I dunno Gerald. I've seen quite a few of his films and formed that opinion. I actually thought I remembered seeing Omar Sharif edge him out but I might be mistaken. Sharif I have at 5'10.5 and I can't see Kruger under that!

It wouldn't have been Schell, I vaguely recall Kruger edged him out in that film. It was somebody around that sort of range though where I remember thinking he was between 5'10 and 5'11.

The One That Got Away is one of the best British films of the late 50s I've seen I think, really good, and feels authentic. I can't remember now who it was which made me think 5'10.5, it may have well have been Schell.

Thank you Rob. A real deal 5’11”, potentially in that 5’11”-5’11.25” bracket. I reckon he was more likely over the 5’11” mark than under it; Krüger was 100% taller than Maximilian Schell in A Bridge Too Far.
