There's a scene in Ronin where he stands next to Sean Bean, both have a similar pose, and he looks no more than an inch shorter than him. He also looks about 4 - 4.5 inches shorter than Jean Reno in it.

Bobby Milk is weird. This guy can look 5'10, sometimes shorter like 5'9 and even occasionally 5'8. I say it's weird 'cause I just watched one of my favorite movies the other night, Ronin, and De Niro looked a lot bigger in that movie than he normally does. He looked like a 5'11 or 6' guy. Yeah, the easy response is that he wore 'magic shoes' during the movie. I have my doubts he did 'cause he did quite a bit of running, walking, and other physical schtuff (for a guy his age) in that movie. Not that I think he's any taller than 5'10, I'm just sayin' this guy can be hard to peg.

In the film The Last Tycoon DeNiro looked like a shrimp next to Bob Mitchum and Ray Milland, both six one. And when DeNiro stood next to and walked along with Dana Andrews he was definitely shorter. Andrews when he was young was never more than five ten. He wore obvious lifts in the film Laura so he wouldn't look like a shrimp next to six foot four Vincent Price and close to six feet Clifton Webb. I doubt DeNiro was ever more than five eight.

Sighting: watching us. I realize it’s Al Pacino! I nearly fell of my chair. About ten minutes later, in walks Harvey Keitel with a woman — not sure if it was a wife or an assistant. My friend and I were reeling. Give it another ten minutes, and freaking Robert DeNiro walks in with his wife! Unbelievable — they really do all hang out and eat dinner together. They’re all also short. Not one of the lot (of men) was over 5’8” (at best)! Nevertheless, extremely exciting!

He is definitely taller than Harvey Keitel. And "towered" Ben Stiller in the "Meet the..."-movies (I think he was not wearing lifts during them, his co-part Ben was shorter anyway)

At his peak, I'm convinced he was just about 5'9" even. He is probably shorter today, but Crystal is not 5'5 1/2" (closer to 5'7") and De Niro looks to be about an inch and a half tall.
