Spence, Walken said he was 6ft. You insist he is 6ft 1. Woods has people who think he is 5'10, Frank2 for instance. Frank2 said Brad Pitt was his height. Who says he is 5'11. So assuming Frank2 was a tall 5'11, you still only get 5'11 for woods. CopLand de niro in lifts was stallone's height, who was three inches under liotta. There you go a 5'9 sighting of de niro, but he is in lifts, look at the full length body shot of him and de niro.
Notice how real quotes from actors on their height undermine your opinon. Guess you are a better judge than them?

You can argue that Woods is two and a half inches taller than De Niro, however, you can hardly guess accurately someone's height by watching him walk around.
How do you explain De Niro being the same height as Glenn today? That would make him 5'7" TOPS as of 2009. Maybe even slightly under for most of the day, since Glenn isn't a strong 5'7" himself.

Spence there was a link to an interview on the connery page where he stated his height as 6ft 1 1/2 inches, i have ask Rob to put the link back. Also if you look up the oscars from 1988, moore, connery and caine are all on stage together. caine is the tallest not by much, but 1/2 inch taller than moore and connery who are the same size. connery was 58 so height loss is possible. Also tailors measure you relaxed, so you can argue if connery bothered to stand to attention he could be 6ft 2. however he has stated his height is 6ft 1 1/2 inches on at least one tv interview. So the arguement for 6ft 1 is stronger than 6ft 2 inches.
As far as andy garica is concerned if connery can see over his head in his fifties when he is the same size as costner who is 6ft 1. Or maybe I should have stated costner can see over the top of garcia head, as that is correct as well. Then garica can not be 5'10 or close. It is just under 4 1/2 inches from the pupil of a 6ft guy to the top of his head. Assume costner and connery are both 6ft 1 1/2 inches, that makes garica 5'9 max. He is amn inch taller than de niro. In TAXI DRIVER, Cybill wore lower heels and I'm sure when they went in for close shots, either De Niro stood on a box or most likely Cybill removed her shoes. She'd do that anyway. I have to watch that movie again. I never really made that much of a note of the actor's heights while watching it. I have the DVD though so next time I watch it I'll compare Garcia to them. I remember one scene in particular that's probably good for comparing their heights. I remember when Ricardo Montalban finally underwent the knife after suffering non-stop back pain since the early 1950s when he suffered an accident while riding a horse for a film. I beg to differ since I'm not the only one who hasn't lost height with age. Actor Don Ameche was 5'10" prime and remained that height into his late seventies. I saw him several times over the years. Paramount producer A.C. Lyles who I know going back to when he was a close friend of my father was 5'11" prime and the last time I saw him which was a few years ago he was my height. If I lose any height during the day it's no more than 1/8th of an inch. If I lift anything heavy I can lose a quarter of an inch. But I try not to lift anything heavy since I have a bad back. My orthopedic doctor told me if he ever has to operate, I'll lose about an inch. If my lower disc goes, I'll have to have an operation. Dural says on 24/Jul/09

the case for 5'8 max, is the deer hunter next to walken, walken can clearly see straight over the top of his head or a minimum of 4 and 1/2 inches if not 5. Walken was shorter than roger moore who people claim was 6'0 to 6'1 1/2 in the 70's. Assuming you go for a tall roger and give walken 6'0 1/2, de niro is still 5'8. There are two photos with Glenn now 5'7 to 5'7 and 1/2, where de niro is the same height. even assuming Glenn beats him by 3/4 inch in shoes thats still closer to 5'8 than 5'9.

It looks like Deniro shrunk in those 2 pics you have with him Glenn. The first one where he is thinner and actually has a neck, he appears to be slightly taller than you and the bottom pic (more recent one), he is shorter than you. It could be the pavement, but the man in 65 years old now and most healthy adult males lose up to 2" in height by the time they hit 70. So, if you're 5'8" when you wake up and 5'7"-5'7.25" by the end of your waking hours, it's fair to say that if you were your MAX 5'8" when posing with him, then Deniro is looking 5'8.5" MAX in the top pic and 5'7.5" MAX in the bottom pic. If you were shorter than 5'8" in those pics, then you can make those adjustments accordingly.
Now PLEASE GLENN, don't take offense to what I just wrote. I'm merely playing devils advocate and am calling it as I see it based on those two pics of you guys and based on YOUR height. I have NOT taken into account the pavement advantage you or Deniro MAY have had.

he was 2 inches min. shorter than james woods (whos 5'10-5'11) in "Once upon a time in america" watch right at :38 seconds when woods is leaving...they both have bad posture and Deniro reaches woods' ears, maybe a tad bit over.

weak 5'9 peak morning height...no more, most likely a bit less too...he had a really thin frame which made him appear taller...frank2 saw him at 5'8 in the mid 80s...rob has this guys height good. 5'10 is way too off, considering the pics i've posted from his younger days. Danimal says on 14/Jan/09
Peak height, I can see him floating between a shade over 5'9" up to 5'10" depending what time of the day/night it was. Today he looks to be a shade over 5'8" considering he's 65 years old. |
