This is an interesting one because Dalton claimed 6'1 back in the 80s and 90s as mentioned by Rob above. I think Timothy Dalton's peak height was 6'1.5. Being that he was in the middle of two measurements (6'1 and 6'2) he chose to round down his height to 6'1. Another person that comes to mind who is halfway between two measurements and rounded down their height is Nathan Fillion. I feel like a person can't go wrong for either rounding up or down their height if their height falls at the halfway mark of two measurements. I think Timothy Dalton would've claimed 6'2 if he was at or slightly over 6'1.75. However I still believe that Sean Connery was the tallest bond.
I think the 6'1.75 listing as his peak is believable but 6'1.5 would be more accurate only because of his 6'1 claims from the past.

When you see him together with the other Bonds though he actually looked a solid 6ft2 next to Lazenby,Moore and Brosnan. Particularly with Brosnan as in fairness Moore and Lazenby were past their peaks at the time,but Brosnan wasn't and he was clearly taller than him.

I'd say 6ft1.5 is perfect for Bond. Tall and aesthetically pleasing but not so tall they stand out like 6ft2+ guys do. Having said that did anyone ever watch Daniel Craig and think I can't take him seriously as Bond because he's only 5ft10 range ? I don't think so,that wasn't running through my head watching his films anyway but even so I'd agree 6ft up to maybe 6ft2 is ideal for Bond, but then Bonds height is just one small aspect of the part.You could be an actor the perfect height to play Bond but be useless in all other departments.

A guy Brandon Routh or Tom Welling’s height who has a pretty regular physique and ticks all the other boxes (dark hair, blue eyes, British) should pull it off. Bond is supposed to be tall, reasonably imposing but can blend in with a crowd. You can still maintain that effect with a guy near 6ft3 playing the part. He’ll still be up against bigger dudes in a throw down. I think 6ft1 should be lowest. Any less and he starts to look meagre.

I think like with Tim you have to be careful about taking the lowest listing and taking it at face value. While it's less common to round down, I think like with Kieron moore in some cases it makes no sense and it's best to go with evidence of how they most often appear.

It's difficult to judge the height of Jennifer Connely, but she probably wore heels. 6ft1 and 5/8ths peak could be spot on for him, a decent 187cm. 6ft1 today. I don't trust those alleged tailor measurements as I don't believe Connery was 6ft1.5, he looked a proper 6ft2, although all the other listings sound plausible enough give or take.

This guy was an easy 6’2 Rob you shouldn’t pay too much attention to the spotlight casting as solid evidence. It’s not as reliable for 6’ plus actors from what I’ve seen. You don’t upgrade them for inflating so don’t downgrade them for deflating unless they look it I feel. Dalton never looked this low

i dont really know if the publicist really knew his exact height. i think that claim is like asking someone of us who have just seen him. To me he looked like the next talles bond after sean connery. connery just above 6 foot 2 and timothy 6 foot 2. i really think he could look it. even today he looks atleast 186 in my eyes. just a little shorter than 190 hartnet

Are you sure he's tall 185 cm? In Penny Dreadful is tall almost like Josh Hartnett, that should be a strong 190 cm, and they wear almost the same footwear, I guess about 2 cm / 2.5 cm.

Even a guy 2 inches bigger can drop posture for a bit and look only .75 or so taller than a 6'0 guy. Look how many pictures Rob has of 5'8 guys who appear like .1 of an inch or so shorter

Ok I take that back. He was an underrated Bond. He had the appearance and the intensity. I rate him higher than Craig and Lazenby. But Brosnan for me was the ideal 007. Connery in my opinion was the most masculine Bond, then Dalton. Dalton had something cold in the eyes though and a serious nature which made him look an assassin though and more believable as a government agent. He's always looked 6'2" I think and looked noticeably taller than Brosnan and Moore.
Connery in my opinion was the most masculine Bond, then Dalton. Dalton had something cold in the eyes though and a serious nature which made him look an assassin though and more believable as a government agent. He's always looked 6'2" I think and looked noticeably taller than Brosnan and Moore.

Lazenby was by far the worst Bond. The others were all credible. like Terryman I liked the range, with the rough charm of Connery, the comedy/irony of Moore and the seriousness of Dalton and the suaveness and sophistication of Brosnan.

I don't think this increase in weight was simply devoted to working out, I rather suspect McDonald's and the ever increasing belly was more likely the case. Is this extra 25 lbs a healthier look?

There is a guy on Glenn or Rob's page who is 6'1" and claims to be 133 pounds. Now thats is unhealthy! 160 pounds at 6'2" is underweight period, Pitt is as askinny as a rake and is this weight at a weak 5'11". You should be at least 175 or 180 pounds minimum.

1. Your body fat level is much higher, most likely as most people do have a higher body fat level than me

Then again if you have longer torso, shorter legs and broad shoulders, then you can weigh surprisingly lot without looking "heavy". Im 6-2 and a little over 200lbs and some say that Im slim.
So 6ft and 180 can look both slim and somewhat heavy. If you are exactly six feet tall then around 180 is a pretty good weight. Definitely not 150!

Rusty, BMI isn't the best way to measure, if a person is in good shape. Almost all sportsmen would be overweight or even obese, if u just look at the BMI. Guy who is around 6ft2 and 180 lbs looks really slender, if the person has done some sports.

If you listen to the commentaries on the Hot Fuzz DVD almost all the actors providing the commentary remark how tall Dalton is and how physically imposing he can be - Olivia Coleman stated that Dalton was like 8 foot tall! and scary!

You have to have a special pin to view actors credentials on the website, which casting agents/industry people etc pay for. They also have an actual book which you can thumb through, which major libraries sometimes have. That's where I saw his info. Yes tubbs, i agree with you. I saw Hot Fuzz on Saturday and through the whole of that film Timothy Dalton did look a good 6,2 inches tall or more. I would put money on Timothy still being 6,2.By the way i would recomend everyone to go and see that film it is fantastic and Timothy was great in it.
