American actor best known for roles in films such as Armageddon, Sling Blade, Bandits, Pushing Tin, The Alamo, A Simple Plan, Bad Santa, The Informers, The Judge, Monster's Ball and TV series Fargo. In an interview on his official site in 2002 he said "I'm 6 feet, 140 [pounds]".

I'm 6ft tall and looking back, I know that wasn't healthy or very smart, and I had probably had some sort of eating disorder
The other thing I saw: There was this whole back-and-forth about How tall I am. I'm like, are you serious? It's like, 'He says he's six feet and there's no way. I saw him in a picture with so-and-so and I know he's 5'10" and he was shorter than him. Why does he have to lie about his height? I think he's lying about his weight, too, I think he looks even skinnier than 140 to me. He looks deathly skinny.'

I think this site needs a "height in cowboy boots" section, for actors that practically have cowboy boots glued to their legs, and hence, their publicized height is that height. For instance:
Billy Bob Thornton: 6'(actual height: 5'10")
Clint Eastwood: 6'4" (actual height: 6'2")
Sam Elliott: 6'2" (actual height: 6'0")
It's not a perfect science of course; you have peak and current heights, like Clint is probably barely 6' today, and I'm guessing BB Thornton was never more than 5'9.5"-5'9.75"; Elliott I might give 6'0.5"-6'0.75". But it IS much closer to the real measurements I'd say🤔😅

I stood right next to him in 1988 while filing Chopper Chicks in Zombie Town (shooting name was Chrome Hearts). I was 5'10 1/4 back then. He was shorter than me by a good inch or so. My guess at the time was 5'9". Never had a clue he'd become the star he has! Cool dude though.

Five foot ten? No way. I'm currently watching Goliath (which is a wonderfully entertaining show, incidentally), and if Billy Bob is five foot ten then most of the male actors on the show are well over six feet.
He looks small. Most of the women on the show (albeit wearing high heels) are about his height.

It's funny how he claims 6'0" and Google also has him down as 6 feet, but there is absolutely no way that Billy is that height because he is obviously at least an inch shorter than 5'11" Hugh Grant in a scene with them together. He has Frankenstein boots on in Bad Santa 2 (even when he's not in his Santa costume) and has similar shoes in Fargo. He's had a very obvious hair transplant and very probably Botox so height vanity wouldn't be a stretch. Also he's so thin because he has many food allergies (real or imagined - he also has a phobia to furniture).

Though I'm glad to know measuring tapes are more accurate then doctor measurements but most of the time the doctors and measuring are relatively close like I always get between 5'9 and 5'10 depending on the day. Though I can try measuring myself throughout the day. Like what time during the day is the best to find out if your getting listed on here?

Editor Rob since most people by 1-2pm aren't that much different than say 7-8pm around lunch is fine for a measurement I'd say.

Editor Rob no celebrity should really get upset over what are essentially guesses and discussions about their height. The number at the top is celebheights barefoot guess, nothing more. My listing doesn't change what the celebrity actually is. Without knowing or seeing a measurement, we have to guess...
Remember a measurement doesn't always mean the measurement is correct. We've all seen cases of people getting measured differently at a Dr's office than at their home. Other people get measured in footwear aswell.

If you are 5'9" barefoot, and you wear work boots for example, you could tell people you are 5'10" and it wouldnt be that ridiculous becuase you would be that height in the boots. but lying about your height 2-3 inches is ridiculous and makes no sense. Maybe it's just that our eyes are 4 inches below our heads and it makes me think that if I can't see over people's heads, I'm not taller than them. However, when I take pictures with the same people, it reaffirms that I'm taller than them and I don't feel short anymore. Random, yes. Weird, very. But thought I'd share that little tidbit anyways.

I have an cousin who works for ESPN. She said that when he came in to do an interview, she was in charge of putting a mic on him. She said that he was just about as tall as she is. And she's 5'7". My guess is that all the publicly stated stuff is inflated. 5'7" is most likely correct.
I have an cousin who works for ESPN. She said that when he came in to do an interview, she was in charge of putting a mic on him. She said that he was just about as tall as she is. And she's 5'7". My guess is that all the publicly stated stuff is inflated. 5'7" is most likely correct.

5'10 tops. I can't seem to find any pics of the particular scene, but watch Monster's Ball and the scene where Heath Ledger, P. Diddy, and Billy Bob are walking down the hallway for P. Diddy's character's last walk. For one, Heath Ledger is noticeably taller than Billy Bob by 3 - 4 inches and P. Diddy wears flip-flops in this scene and still has a bit of an advantage over Billy Bob.

I just watched "Bandits", in which BBT appeared to be a good 2-3 inches shorter than 5'11.5 Bruce WIllis. I'm thinking somewhere between 5'8 and 5'9 for this guy.

I'd say what you have listed 5"10-11 is accurate. When he first came on the scene I thought he was like 6"1-2. But I forget the movie with Bruce Willis he was in where they were escaped cons. Well, they were about the same height.

I see Damon consistantly listed at 6'2'', except on 1 site and that is baseball reference.com....a site notorious for downgrading players' heights and weights...this is a site that lists Jason Giambi at a laughable 200 lbs, when he was really over 230 and Jim Thome at 220, when he's really pushing 250...so according to the numerous sites which list Damon at 6'2'', Billy Bob could be a six-footer...

If you go to the Major league baseball site and click on 2005 home run derby all star pics you will see this .Johnny looked 1 inch taller, so 5-11 is correct.

I'm not sure about Billy Bob, but judging from that picture, Ryan Phillippe looks smaller than 5'9". I have the suspicion that Phillippe is another little guy who claims to be average height. Hmm ... his wife is 5'2" right?
