On a Fastest Finger First in an edition of 'Who Wants to be a Millionaire?' just now, there was a contestant called Patrick BOOZER! How incredibly embarrassing it would be if you're picked up for being drunk and disorderly and asked for your name when you're called THAT! 😂
Chris gets 6ft2.

There's a lady contestant on an old 'Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?' and she was asked the question, worth £250,000, "Who was the brother of the Greek God Biblical character, Castor?"
Before the answers even came up, the lady (Kay or Kate) said "Pollux!" Of course, everyone laughed. She won her quarter million and then won HALF A MILLION. I didn't know these two answers, but I did know the answer to the Million pound question, which was, "Which King was dubbed The Wisest Fool in Christiandom?"
It was King James I! 🤪🤴😕
Chris gets 6ft2. 😄👍

What the eff is going on here? There was a question just now on Millionaire as to which monarch preceded Henry VIII. The answer options were Mary I, Edward VI, Elizabeth I or James I - who was a bleedin' Stuart, all the others being the offspring of the second Tudor King, Henry VIII. Wasn't it obviously Edward VI, for crying out loud?
Fair enough to have that as a question, I suppose, but the reward was £64,000 - MADNESS! 😣

@ Rodney - Wow!

@ OriginalAnon - I certainly wouldn't! Once I was following a healthy diet plan which insisted that you have liver once a week. It was, in fact, the Weight Watcher's plan, and it was published in a newspaper. That's one rule that I simply couldn't adhere to!
These days, I get my iron from shakes, be they the powder form or the ready- made variety.
Cheers OriginalAnon 😁👍

Ah! There's a blonde-ponytailed lady on Millionaire right now and her husband, who is in the audience, doesn't reckon she will do very well for some reason. She's very jolly and funny and has a phobia of baked beans. Has she seen 'Tommy'? 😀😂😆
Well, she's just won £1,000, which isn't bad for a few minutes work. It's a shame that she didn't walk away with the £10,000 she'd accrued.
Kind-hearted Chris presented her with a HUGE can of baked beans at the end!
Chris can have 6ft2. Rarely is there an occasion you see a contestant who is taller than Chris. 😁👍
OriginalAnon said on 18/Apr/20
Sandy, why would anyone want to absorb heme iron, in the first place? Animal products are absolutely awful for human health.
6'2'' for Tarrant, in his prime. 6'1.75" today.

@ Daz - I-N-T-E-R-E-S-T-I-N-G!
It’s unlikely that he is 6’3” but he is probably taller than at least 96% of adults!

There was a question just now on 'Millionaire' about which vegetable is high in iron. The answer was, unsurprisingly, spinach, but it's a little known fact that the body has great difficulty absorbing the iron from vegetables. Baked beans (pulses) are different though. Spinach is choc-a- block full of vitamin C, which actually helps with the absorption of iron, so don't be put off; some of it DOES get into the bloodstream, and it's always one of your 5-a-day, a rule which I swear by.
It's easier to derive one's iron from meat sources, particularly liver. 😒 Even with the average iron tablet, much of the iron passes through, so it's best to get them from your doctor.

Well, it would seem that I'm a blithering idiot as well!
When it came to a Fastest Finger First question, I knew the answers, but I put them in the reverse order, and that's not the first time I've done that either! That wouldn't get me very far on the show, would it? 😂😂😂
Miss Sandy Cowell said on 17/Dec/19
There's a blithering idiot on Chris's 'Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?' right now! He had to use three lifelines in succession for the simplest of questions. I think he'd better run with the money he has won so far...
He's taken heed and leaves with £8K!
Chris gets 6ft2.

There is a guy on Chris's 'Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?' who works with special needs children. People like that are admirable and I hope he does very well.
Yes, I know that this was recorded nearly two decades ago, but this is the sort of fellow whose winnings will still be doing good to this day. 😁👍
6ft2 for Chris.

🎂🎉🎁🕯️ Happy Birthday Chris! 🕯️🎁🎉🎂
No doubt I'll be watching Chris tonight at 10 O'clock on Challenge TV! One thing is always guaranteed and that's that Chris will always afford us a good laugh!
I believe he turns 73 today, and he looks smashing for it.
Happy Birthday Chris! XXX

I've just watched with delight as a lady, named Alli Hamilton, laughed her way to winning 64 Big Ones!
She was the only one to get these four Dustin Hoffman films in the correct order of their release: they were, in order, The Graduate, Kramer Vs Kramer, Tootsie and Rain Man. I have them all barring Kramer Vs Kramer, which my Mum saw at the flicks with my brother.
Alli used all her lifelines and was over the moon to get £32,000. She guessed at the £64,000 question - correctly! 😁👍

Tonight on 'Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?' the fastest finger first question was "Put these Queens in order of when they were on the throne."
Of course, they were (Bloody) Mary I, Elizabeth I, Queen Anne and finally Queen Victoria. Only ONE person got it right! 😭
Miss Sandy Cowell said on 16/Sep/19
Oh dear! How embarrassed would I have felt not knowing the answer to the £300 question on tonight's Millionaire? I'd have had to ask the audience!
Later on, however, I knew the £64,000 question, which was 'Which Day falls a week after Whit Sunday?' the answer being Trinity Sunday. Aren't brains funny things? They seem to weed out the things that are of interest to them and give the middle finger to the rest!
I've noticed that Chris is SO USED to being taller than the vast majority of the contestants that when someone is actually taller than he is, he just can't help but say something! Therefore, I will be giving him 6ft2 again. 😄
So there! 😉
Miss Sandy Cowell said on 29/Jul/19
Surely not? Christopher has just asked a duplicate of contestants what 'vermicile' is.
Doesn't everyone know that 'VERM' means worm?
My friend Chris can have the full 6ft2. XX.

It's Saturday night and I can't stop watching 'Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?'
The only time you see Chris standing up is when he's welcoming on a new contestant, and so far none have been taller than him or even near to his height. He's aptly the Big Leader, the Big Cheese 🧀 in the Millionaire studios!
I was just SCREAMING at the telly because someone didn't know which Pope the calendar is named after. He was given the choices of Popes Innocent, Leo, Gregory and Clement and he had to phone a friend! Hasn't he heard of the Gregorian calendar? Eek! 🐀
Chris gets six foot two.

It's a shame I missed out on Tiswas! Some people I knew of 8-12 years my senior, who became parents early, would take it in turns to ship the kids off to one house, so that the rest of them could watch it in peace (minus, of course, the selected weekly 'victim parents'!)
Yes... seems I really missed something hilarious!

Tonight on 'Millionaire', a guy by the surname Stankiervitch won the 'Fastest Finger First', going on to amass £32K! How Chris LOVED saying Stankiervitch! If I'd known how many times he'd go on to say it, I would have sat there ticking away with my pen and paper!
Mr Stankiervitch was about 2-and-a-half inches shorter than Chris, but a whole lot wealthier than he was to start with come the end of his innings. I would have put up with a bit of leg-pulling for that money! 😉👍

Last night, I was watching an old 'Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?', when there was an incident of absolutely NOBODY getting a 'fastest finger first' question right! Chris literally Laughed Out Loud, especially as the question had involved the sequence of how traffic lights work, adding "If anyone doesn't know this, make sure they don't take you home tonight!"
It's humourous touches like this that make a quiz either watchable or not. Then the other day, a woman was overjoyed with winning £1,000, having just lost either £7,000 or £15,000. Chris gave her a kiss and said, "Ah, bless you!"
⭐️ The 'fastest finger first' flop almost certainly occurred in the same episode as the one in which Judith Keppel won her £1,000,000 with the question "Who was married to Eleanore* of Aquitaine?" which was, of course, Henry II.
Chris has always been very open about his height, and why ever not? He's a princely 6ft2!
* This is probably spelt incorrectly. There are many, many variations of spelling the name, and my Mum's was just one!

@ Rob - How tall is his former wife Ingrid?
There was a claim from Ingrid once "I'm 5ft 7in tall, a dress size ten and weigh about nine stone".
said on 21/Dec/17
Rob, could he have dropped under this by now?
Probably 186-187cm today
it would be likely he has lost something, though a full inch may be unlikely, a half inch maybe more likely.

I met Chris last year while we were both out fishing, was talking to him for ages, what a lovely down to earth man. I would say he's 6ft2. I'm exactly 6ft and he seemed to be a couple of inches taller than me.

Sometimes in the early hours of the morning, I catch a wildlife programme called 'Wildlife SOS' on Channel 5. It is narrated by Simon Cowell, whose enthusiasm for animal welfare (other than for dogs!) I learnt of through this very programme.
So far, I have never caught sight of Simon taking part other than by reading about the creatures, who are, as the name of the programme suggests, often in upsetting and worrying situations. This morning, however, I caught a glimpse of a very familiar - not to mention way above average height, blond-haired, male celebrity! It took a mere few seconds to realise who it was, and it was infinitely clearer to see his height than on his Millionaire-lovers quiz show!
I think the programme must have first been shown near the turn of the century; Chris's face was unlined and his posture was as bolt-upright as I have yet to witness, ever since he has been 'gracing' our screens!
This is by far the best evidence I have seen of Chris being 6ft2, and a strong one at that! I can imagine he wakes up at over the 6ft2 mark. Obviously, all this information will be applicable at the time that the programme was made, and now when Chris tumbles into his bed after a hard day's work, he will be of an age where he'll have shrunk a bit!
I still reckon he wakes up at 6ft2, and I'm hardly going to jeopardise the man of half an inch because he has the decency to give his time to a wildlife rescue programme, which I catch nearly 2 decades after it first went out! No way would I do that (if anything, it would work the other way, but I am not going to introduce my silly little foibles into my height estimates - that would be plain daft - and I am incredibly sensible! 😌
I shall stick with 6ft2 for Chris. 😋
It might be worth mentioning that after that one guest appearance, Chris continued to actively support helping wild animals in peril. Now that IS worth bringing up as a nice little souvenir of his venture!

Chris looked 6ft2 on 'Who Wants to be a Millionaire' and I'm sure I've heard him say this about his height.
I never saw his earlier programmes, where he could well have been taller, but hardly by much! Now though, years after 'Millionaire', he probably is at least an inch below his peak - at least!
As there is only one box for Chris, I shall fill in with a guess of 6ft2! I still watch him on the 'Challenge' channel regularly, so to me that's what he is!

I would give him 6'2 - 6'3.

I read an interview with Tarrant in which he said that being 6'2'' came in handy during his days teaching in a tough comprehensive. The kids tended not to mess him around too much. Theakston is a genunine 6'4'' but I dind't see that show so can't compare.
Dave Williams. said on 18/Aug/06
I'd have said around 6'-2" to 6'-3" as my son is at least 6'-3" & my son-in-law is about the same height so I am used to being around tall people. And I've worked with tall people in last 2 jobs. I'm 5'-9" as is my daughter.
