Costner has always been a pretty well-built guy. I'd say Costner was around 6ft1.5 back then. He has however gotten a little heavier over the last few years which might give the illusion of him being shorter.

I watched 'Dances with Wolves' the other day when I was snowed in, he looks pretty tall in the film. He is well proportioned as well and does look quite lanky. He looks a similar height to the native Americans and I understand they tend to be on the tall side. The film is quite old now but I doubt he has shrunk.

Hugh, you're saying Costner was 6'2" and 6'1" now ?? He only just into his 50's. There's no way he losing an inch in height unless he has some form of osteoporosis or he's had vertabrae fused. Well Willis doesn't strike me as being anything less than 5ft11, if anything he's slightly over that mark. Costner always looks at least 2 inches taller. I wouldn't rule out a 6ft2 peak and a solid 6ft1 or maybe 6ft1.25 now.

Ray, Connery was still 6ft2 when the Untouchables was made. Kutcher and Costner are both similiar in build. I'd say at most there was 1.5 inches between Kuthcer and Costner.

My guess is that Costner is between 6 foot and 6-1, and is now closer to 6 feet. Ashton Kutcher was at least 2.5 inches taller in The Guardian. There was a pic, that I can't find of the two of them, I believe in People Magazine, and they were standing next to each other. Kutcher is noticeably taller!

I was like Kevin in HS,I guess. I was 5'3 or 5'4 when I was 14-15 in 9th grade,5'6-5'8 in 10th grade,5'8 or 5'9 in 11th grade, and then grew to 5'9.5-5'10 in 12th grade. I read the previous comments about costner and other's about rodman, And remained very suprised so i asked my father the age that he stopped growing and to my surprise he said that he grew several centimetres between 19 and 20.5 years.
May that mean that i will have a late growth to??? ... because I'm 17.5 years old and only 5ft 7.75 when i go to sleep and 5ft 8.5 when i wake up ... though and i'm half an inch taller than my father ... please give an answer ..

I'm 6'1 flat out of bed for a short period of time. One morning when my friend spent the night 2 years ago he measured me with measuring tape and said I was 6'1 1/4 but I never got over 6'1 right out of bed but I lose that height kinda fast and down to 6'0.5 not long after.

Connery just doesn't seem to me personally like a candidate for that because he was never particulary lanky or thin. He was trim and in shape, but he was always a pretty big guy, and Big guys don't seem to get that lenghting effect, at least in my expirence both personally and trying to gauge height of others

Really Viper. He always seemed a tall, legit 6'2 guy when he was younger. I could see him only being 6'1 now, maybe even down to 6'.75, but he was always tall. He was at least as tall as Michael Caine, who was definitly a legit 6'2 back in the 70's.

i agree with you viper, connery's height has always been overrated. Costner IS a SOLID 6'1 tho, i always thought he was only about 6', but seeing him here and in a few pics with bigger guys, he is a legit 6'1

It creates a tapering up, and on a lean guy can enhance the apperarece of one height over an inch. This is one of the reasons Cary Grant could look 6'2ish. He was a lean, well proportioned 6'.5 guy who wore these suits well. I doubt he did it on purpose, but those suits enhance height
