In fact he actually gives a taller impression than 6ft 2 Sean Connery! He really needs an upgrade to a full 6ft 2.5 thats what he generally looked. He can even give 6ft 3 impressions. He looked the same height as 6ft 2.5 Affleck also.

Maybe he brushed 6'2.5" when he was young and today I wouldn't put him below 6'1.75"...
Although he got older he didn't lose a big amount...he's still a tall guy and great actor, too.

He's almost 80 years old (most men will have lost 2" by then) and he still looks like a strong 6'2" + guy (taller than Ben Affleck). In his younger days, was easily over 6'3". I used to read 6'3.5" and 6'4" for him when he was young. Legit tall man who has aged very well, but has lost height nonetheless.

Rob the thing is I find it hard to believe he'd have been shorter at peak than Sidney Poitier. I've seen about five of Poitier's 60s films and honestly I don't think he'd have been taller than Freeman. Freeman to me looked more likely to be over the 6'2" mark than Poitier.

Editor Rob he can appear taller in a lot of photos, 6ft 5.5 is what he can pull off looking at times. It helps that he doesn't have a low eyelevel and if he raises it slightly his eyelevel would be no more than 4 inches.

I happened to meet Freeman in 2005, I was 14 at the time and stood at 6'4 and Freeman was a good foot and a half shorter than I was so I would put his height at about 5'1

As a young man, I think Freeman was an easy 6'3"--or 6'2 1/2" at the bare minimum. Today, I think he still hits 6'2" for most of the day. I saw him recently in pictures taken alongside Eastwood and Poitier. Poitier and Freeman both look about 6'2", and Eastwood looks about 6'1". Today, I think Freeman is 6'2".

I posted a few years back I met him face to face at a San Diego Hilton. He was 6'2.5" easily. Hollywood uses many tricks, and many star wear lifts at public events to appear larger. That would explain other guys looking tall next to Freeman, at least logically speaking.

i think they were saying his peak height was 6'3...the man has probably been past his peak since the late 80s.

you got AJ, I've tried to explain that several times before. Even if the angle is not the best for judging height, even a child could do the maths. There is at least a difference of 10cm (4inches). So if Jordan is even taller than 6'5", that makes Morgan FReeman no taller than 6'2". Athletes are measured mor accurately than actors, who always exaggerate. I see Freeman more in the 6'1.25" range

Freeman could have been 6-3 peak. James Cromwell was and still is enormous as far as height goes. 6-7 or a shade under in his prime and nowadays still close to 6-6.

Cromwell looked at least 12cm taller than Morgan Freeman. Freeman looked the same height as Liev Schreiber.
But there was no difference in height between Affleck and Freeman in the movie.But on one pic he looks taller than affleck.

I just watched the sum of all fears, and i paid attention to affleck, schreiber, freeman, cromwell. Cromwell looked extremely huge in this movie. I guess he's probably taller than what is listed on this site. But if the listed height of him is correct, than we need to downgrade a few people.

Besides James, I took a look at the pics with him and Jordan again. 2-2.5 inches are about 7cm, am I right. Well, how can you see only such a bit of a difference. Just take a look at Morgan Freeman's eyes. He's looking quite up to Jordan. I see at least a difference of 3.5 inches.

There is one I cannot upload to this page, but the picture is setted during the MTV Poopcorn Awards 2006. Both are standing on stage (even floor) and Routh is giving the reward to Bale. You'll see there is at least a difference of 3in if not more.
