What alot of ignorant people fail to realise is that Stallone was never a short guy in the first place more like a strong average for his generation in particular. A legit 5'9 back in say the 1970s I'd imagine would be between average-tall since average height of American man back then was like what? 5'8?
People call Mel Gibson short too? Stand a peak Mel next to a legit 6footer there would not be a big difference, that is not short.

I agree rob in some rare case hé did wear 2,75-3in type And was likely heating 5'11,75-6ft shoes/lifts on but he oftenly weard more the 2-2,5in type And was 5'11-11,5 at best in shoes , and somtimes just à 4cm type And was 5'10,5 shoes And looked 5'10 with posture

rob i Think 175 i "about" right for Stallone but the scene were he and kurt russel is barefoot is a Little starange. Kurt russell is 176 and Stallone looks 1 cm taller.ore the same but not shorter? I guess he have the same height when he walks as when he measures.

I beleive Stallone wore 4 inch elevator shoes.I always assumed he is in the 173 range,no less than that for sure.Also,There is a pic of the Rocky 3 cast in wich Stallone and Mr.T appear wearing boxing shoes with flat sole and the gap between the two is about 2 inch.He is also shorter than his wife,listed at 175 cm in a pic standing together barefeet.

That training film with Weathers is a rare Stallone shot in regular boxing footwear. Wedged up customs with camera angles worked well in the film especially in the ring. Stallone 4.5" shorter against Weathers is pretty funny.

I live in Florida and in the early 90s, I actually met Sylvester Stallone on Miami Beach. I was with my girlfriend at the time. Stallone was barefoot walking on the beach. Just like you point out people who lose far more than the average (Arnold, Clint) Considering Sly still has great posture, he'd be a likely candidate to lose less than average. That survey only proved that men CAN lose 1.2" or more by age 70, not that they always do.

She does wardrobe for TV shows etc. Janet is 5-5" and she was wearing converse when see saw him on several occasions on set in Bolton. She said hes a 3-4" taller than she was,he had black army boots on btw. Just saying.

Looking at Sly when he was younger, to me, he's an easy 5ft9, perhaps a bit more. I think it's the same old adage. Male movies star action hero will be deemed short unless they are over 6ft. And any movie star less than 5.11 deemed tiny! Beats me why people even try to judge people's heights when so many get them wrong.

May as well shut this board down. Stalone has been all over the range of heights with his custom shoes. Unless he comes out on Conan with a stadometer..no one will ever know the truth. If anyone is looking to know his real height they should look at his movies in the 80's. Since then he has grown 5-6 inches.

Editor Rob sometimes it can be simply he had an idea of Sly being taller and then just is more shocked when he is 5ft 8-9 range...he was expecting a 5ft 10 or taller man from watching movies.

My take is ( especially in his younger days -the 80's or 90's ) when his boots/ footwear was beyond embarrassing.....to possibly be 5'10 on a mountain of shoe ... How can he possibly be 5'8 or 5' 9 flatfooted even in his younger days ....its impossible ...his boots in movies like rocky ,,cobra ,, over the top & so on gave him incredible height enhancement ...theres no way anybody could wear his footwear & be only an inch or 2 shorter flatfooted .... 5'7 max young or old if hes lucky !!!
