In this movie they have the same footwear and onestly the diffrence between them is significant, i guess somewhere between 9-10-11 cm. Thats why i belive that Aykroyd was no more then 6ft in his youth.

I had met him at an LCBO in Ontario. He was in dress shoes and looked at least 2 inches taller than me. I had notice him cause his height but recognized his two colour eyes - he'd stood to each of my sizes to pick out wine. I think he's 6'2". Joel says on 12/Nov/11
i met him in 1989. I was with my father. I'm six feet and my dad is 6'1.5/1.87 m. He looks very close to me and a around 1,2 in shorter than my dad, so i think he could be 6-6.05 max on a good day...I don't know how tall is Aykroyd nowadays... Joe says on 29/Oct/11

I got to meet him today. He was in town signing autographs for his Crystal Head vodka. I got a picture with him, but unfortunately he took them all sitting down since he was signing autographs. When he first arrived though he was standing beside my friend at one point who is 5'11 and Aykroyd looked to have about an inch and a half on him, so I would estimate him at about 6'0.5 now. This was about 1pm so he may still even be 6'1 out of bed, but he was definitely that and maybe a little more in his prime. Rampage(-_-_-)Clover says on 28/Aug/11
He'll be 60 next year, believe it or not so there is a good chance he's maybe dropped 0.5in.
I think in the 80s and 90s he was at least 6ft1 and likely a bit taller. In Ghostbusters he looked more or less the same as 186-187cm Bill Murray and in The Great Outdoors could look near in height to 188-189cm John Candy.

Since he's aging and overweight, he might be more of a 6' guy right now, but he definitely was at least 6'1.5 in Ghostbusters I, he could look a hair taller than Murray back then, even tho he was already fat. I'd call him 6'2 peak, don't you agree, Rob?

The photo from Jacob Dec '09 below where he claims Murray is wearing regular shoes and Aykroyd boots is incorrect. Murray has his pants legs over his boots and Aykroyd's tucked in. Never would have belived he was this tall in trading places becasue he looked 5'11 or 5'11 1/2 at times in that film. if anything he looked shorter with Eddie Murphy than Nic Nolte did.
