I saw every episode of Angel too, this guy is roughly 6'0" when he actually stands straight, give or take a cm. Definitely, absolutely not 6'1", and most often comes across as less than 6'0". This can be observed in many candid pics with roughly 5'9" Emily Descanel.

The average height in southern Italy particularly Sicily is well documented at 5'8 compared to the northern regions recorded at 5'9 and 5'9.5 respectively. Having visited Denmark aswell as various parts of The Netherlands i would safely say that Denmark has a 179/180cm average possibly a full 5'11 depending on where you visit and Holland has a marked increase on that height and is definately 5'11.5 - 6'0. 6'1 is officially what they claim as their average but this is really an exaggeration. I have also heard some Dutch people claiming 6'2 and 6'3 as average height which is of course completely ludicrous. The Dutch only really overtook the standard 5'10 european average after the 1950's when their pre and postnatal care became world class aswell as nutrition improving considerably. In school 'healthy eating is drilled into the students' as i heard one dutch person say and families on average are very health conscious. Now compare that to England where i'm from I would say we are pretty damn lucky to even have a 5'10 average as pre/postnatal care is nothing special and our youngsters are fed cheap greasy junk food in school by the state. Wow this is a racist thread. And by the way folks it's impossible to actually figure out an exact average on height for the whole population because there are too many people. If you think about it, 6' or 6'1" really is a pretty average height. I'm 6'4" and yeah even though I tower over a lot of people that not as shorter than me as they think. I meet people who are six foot easy all the time who say their 5'10" or 5'11" but they really are taller than that Da Man says on 9/Jul/11

since this is all mixed in the US, the average german MAle is clearly taller than teh US male. i am germanic, 6"2, and was recently in germany - i really didnt feel tall at all. ...since everybody in teh room seemed to be 6.1" to 6,%' on average. this is also a new generation thing - every one gets taller... there ar eless freak exception like in the US, like BIG SHOW, or some Basketball blacks (normally skinny race), but that's to be believed because of beef & chicken doped with growth hormone substances...so you have less of the 7 footers, or 600 pound mammas that need to be airlifted out of their bathroom. definitely never see that there. jade says on 9/Mar/11

When I was a grad student at UCLA in 2005 I was in an insurance building and was in the elevator with him and I am 6'4" and 255lbs and he is maybe 6'1" on a good day and not that heavily built, broad shoulders but average/thin framed.I will say he is quick witted and is also very polite.He wasn't arrogant or too good to talk to, he was just a nice guy. 6'1" is not the average height for white males. Height pertains to race but also location. In one culture, tall men may be more attractive, therefore more likely to procreate (according to Darwin). In one area it may have been beneficial to have taller people as opposed to another area. Also, in the US I rarely see men that tall, of any race. The average white male in the US is 5'9". 6'1 is not average for "white guys" because The Netherlands, Scandanavia, and South Slav countries do not even make up 50% of "white guys". Also, I'd only agree the Netherlands has an unsually tall standard for height and not South Slav countries because I believe that's completely bogus. The biggest populations of "white guys" - Russia, Germany, Ukraine, Poland, Italy, France, etc in europe definitely do not have an average of 6'1 so it's completely absurd to generalize "white guys" in this way. As it remains, Holland's population is multipled several times by these countries individually, let alone as a whole and Holland most certainly does NOT constitute "white guys" as whole.

6'1" IS average for a white guy. Human averages are ONLY relative to genotype.
The average Dutch person from Holland (aka The Netherlands) and most Southern Slavic Europeans is 6'1", and getting taller. Average heights in Sweden, Finland, Norway, Iceland, and all other Nordic countries are about 6' for young people.
Boreanaz is 6'1" at best; he's absolutely average in height, build, looks, and talent. Of course, my opinion is a factor, but we're trying to be superficial here. I myself am 6'4" (I'm 17) and for the most part I'm average in a heavily Northern European town. krazy krippled! says on 2/Jan/11

6'0-1/4" is 3.25" taller than the average male in the US, most will consider this "tall" unless they themselves are notably taller. I would love to see people who pin Boreanaz at 6'1" or over estimate people's height with a stadiometer ready to go. I think most of these people would be shocked at what's a LEGIT, barefoot 6'1".
