Click Here Again, Fry gives the illusion of being much shorter than John Cleese but at 2:23-2:25, Stephen appears to be the tallest of the them. For me Fry is a 1m95 fellow (like Robbins).

I agree with Yazov, starting at 6:24, we can see that Fry is really very tall. For me, Fry(6"4.5 - 6"5) and Penn (a week 6"6). Fry has gave this illusion before, in the "IQ" movie, Tim Robbins at first, looked easy, taller than Fry but a second view showed me that they were (are) the same height.

Jake, Penn is tall at 6'7, but he's wearing HUGE heels in that video and is always closer to the camera. Take away those two factors and Fry is almost the same height.

There is a video on youtube of 6"6.5 foot penn jillette standing next to fry. Fry definately looks a good 2 or 3 inches shorter. I'd put him at 6 ft 4.

Funny it never occurred to me before that he was so tall. I guess it is because of his heavy build it makes him look shorter than a skinny guy would of the same height. I thought he looked about 2.5 inches taller than Jonathan Ross which would make him around 6'4" but if somebody says he was the same height as that very tall Tim Robbins this is easily accurate. ~~~~

I saw an interview with Stephen Fry on TV...and at one point in the interview Stephen clearly states that Hugh Laurie is 6 foot 2 and he is 6 foot 5.

One thing curious is that Fry looks always slouching; Robbins, Cleese, Stiles all looked one inch taller than Stephen but as soon as he puts a better posture, seems so tall as them. One case that i didn't see this was in Top Gear with Jeremy Clarkson where Fry looked so tall if not taller than Clarkson.

Actually if you look at this site and click on the links, you'll see a video (there are 6 links for 6 videos). In 3 of them (Moaning Minnie, Big Mouth Billy, Rulebound Reggie) Cleese and Fry appear together. Cleese looks to be the taller of the two. Easily an inch difference I'd say.

I remember seeing a corporate training video at college, which featured John Cleese, Stephen Fry and Rik Mayall. After doing a little diggin' I found out it was called "Managing Problem People Series: Case Studies in Leadership".

Check out Fry on Whose Line Is It Anyway, there is plenty of footage on Youtube. He has atleast 3" on the 6'2" Peter Cook, way back in 1988, and in an episode in 1997 he is nearly the same as 6'6" Ryan Stiles. Maybe he should be rounded up to the full 6'5".

I couldn't believe that his height is 6 ft 4.5 inc,whn I saw him at film V for Vendetta,that time I thought his height is 6 ft 2 inc and he is really tall as I thought but his height is not bad at all,he is perfect that he is tall:-)

Saw him two weeks ago in a restaurant in London. Absolutely huge bloke in height and build. 6ft 4 to 6ft 5 no problem.

I have the Fry & Laurie episode with John Cleese (Third Secret Policeman's Ball), Fry and Cleese are about the same height and Laurie is maybe two inches shorter.

And as for Laurie, well he's only a couple of inches shorter than Fry.

In the 1997 film Wilde, where he plays Oscar Wilde, he is standing next to Ioan Gruffudd and Jude Law in quite few scenes, and he really towers over them by a huge margin. I'd say this 6'4.5" is bang on. Incidentally, Law and Gruffudd look a similar height to each other.

6'4.5" is pretty much correct. He's always been properly tall. During one BAFTA ceremony he described himself as 6'4" and a bit and when Tim Robbins came up to present an award they were about the same height. They were also in the 1994 film "I.Q." together.

He once said at start of Saturday Night Fry that he was "6"4 in my stockinged feed". But I've heard his height reported at 6"5 elsewhere.
