I just watched on Hulu Tom Cruise being interviewed, and when Leno introduced him, he stood there waving at the camera for a while, and Leno stood up until he sat down. I saw him at Goodwood Festival of Speed last month, but it was just a case of him walking past me and me suddenly realising that this white-haired middle-aged man was actually Jay Leno. I'm 6'1", I don't know if the ground was totally flat and he was stooping slightly (just in the way people do sometimes when walking around outside), but I'd guess 5'10" rather than 5'11". But you can't really take my word for it because it was only a very brief celebrity encounter, it's not like I actually meet him, he was with a few guys on his way to the VIP area anyway. I've met Jay. He frequents a store that sells car magazines in Burbank, California. In fact he's there almost every Saturday driving a different classic car in his collection. I've spoken with him and he looks eye-to-eye to be my my height and I'm 5'11". jt says on 11/Jul/09
i just met jay yesterday at heathrow airport in london...first before the height question, he's a gentleman...pushing his own luggage, seemed a bit lost, i said "hey Jay how's it goin? thx for the free concert in detroit"...he reached over shook my hand and said "hi..yah we had alot of fun with that...you flying home?"....and so, not liker other full of themselves celebs he's a good guy....and now height...I'm 5'9 and he was at least 2'taller and stooped over a bit so I would say 5'11 to 6'0....more important a good guy

Apparently some people who comment on here think 1 inch is "towering." Shaq standing next to a 5'9 is "towering." 5'10 vs 5'9 is not. If Jay Leno was 5'9 tops as some say, he would look VERY short compared to President Obama, but he doesn't. |
